Excellent to date from 2015 – Been using this since 2015 to date. things I like IQ excellent, for people and any type of photography. Renders beautiful colors which blew Nikon APSC cameras, Sony A7RII in terms of colour and skin tone rendering. Nikon and Sony use Sony sensors which makes people look not so good, leaving lot of touch up work after. But Canon never needed… Read more
touch-up works in family and party photography scenarios. Single-point AF works well in wildlife photography and can drive good lenses fast.
The flippy screen gives massive flexibility to take nice compositions low to the ground. But very sluggish live-view photos.
very good ergonomics and touch to focus, easy to learn on this camera. this thing focuses faster than a modern 200d mark II or 250D. Shooting is a joy with this one with single-point AF. I don't use all AF points cos it messes up with other subjects.
Dislikes: Cannot track subjects fast enough for birds and decent hit rate for children running. High noise in high ISO, which is the trade-off for better color rendition I guess. However, this is a personal preference. I like better photos as many occasions no need to ramp up the ISO. Also key to better photos in low light is a faster lens, which gave me better results.
very slow burst rate. at about 3 fps and the buffer fills in 10 raw files!
looking forward to upgrading to a newer DSLR for bird and wildlife photography. not mirrorless for skepticism about AF and battery life.
It is OK for the price – I bought this canon 700D as I thought it was an upgrade from my 300D that got a bit aged. It is not bad, but also not revol, utionary. i bought the pack with the tele, that is of mediocre quality and has a large base-aperture, but I guess you get what you pay for. Use is quite straightforward, battery life a problem and definitely worse than in my… Read more
300D, but have always 2 spare batteries (non canon brand). Next time will probably switch for the first time to Nikon, as they have progressed through the years. canon regretfully has not. the autofocus stopped working after 18 months. Was out of warranty, so did not bother to get it repaired.
Automatic settings does all the work for me – Just bought this after updating from my EOS 500d that grew some mold inside from me living in the tropics. I knew I would be happy with the Eos model from the previous model and experiences. I don't have time nor a desire to fiddle with settings so this models automatic settings does all the work for me. I have taken amazing photos through my travels. Show details
Really bad battery – SO ANNOYING COS IT ALWAYS RUNS OUT OF BATTERY WHEN IM DOING SOMETHING. I am a everyday photographer who likes to take photoes of random stuff when i feel like it but this is just unpredictable as it runs out of battery really quickly. DEFINITELY PREFER NIKONN!!! Another reason i don't like this camera is because it is really confusing to understand due to some of its unnecessary features that overcomplicates things. Show details
This is a great beginner camera! Suitable for everything! – I bought this camera about 1 year ago and wouldn't go back for a different one. This is the kind of camera that you can keep for a very long time and it will always take very good photos. I used this camera for learning the ways in photography, and it has taught me everything i believe that you need to know. It is an all around great purchase! Show details
Great cam – I bought this model about 1 year ago and very happy with purchase. Canon lenses from my old camera (which uses film, of course, and still works but, you know...film) bought over 25 years ago fit and work perfectly. Cannot compare to other brands but Canon still seem to be producing quality products which are easy to use giving great results. Show details
Great Camera! – I am not a professional photographer and spend 90 percent of the time on the green square setting but for me this is a great mid level camera. The lens that comes with it is not the best and you will more than likely want to upgrade. But for the price and the quality of pictures you can take I think this is one of the better Canon cameras to come on to the market, I would definitely recomend this camera. Show details
Love it – I lost my old Olympus few weeks ago so I made decisions to take this guy home and it's totally worth it! I'm still learning to know it and use it well though. Every time I check my photos taken from this guy I was just excited to share to my family! That's sooooo good! Show details

Pleasant introduction into Photography – Scared of DSLR's I wanted something to ease me into photography as a hobby. Purchased the Canon 700D from the friendly guys at JB HiFi who also ran me through a few hints and tips. If you're the same, scared of DSLR's, start off on the auto mode, get used to the camera, shutter speed, different settings, and all the pre-set configurations before… Read more
moving into the manual mode. I'm still kicking it in auto mode which has produced some great shots. Brilliant macro and close up pictures with a soft blur. Excellent vivid and intense colours under the Creative Mode. The camera will do most of the work for you in auto mode. Keep an eye out for the kit that comes with two lenses, this is usually purchased through a retailer like JB's. The extra zoom lens is really what it says, extra zoom! Not for indoors, unless you're in a massive hall! The standard lens is sufficient for happy snapping and close ups of cakes, food, flowers, whatever you like.
When you've mastered auto, have a look at some of the resources online on how to use the manual settings. Get a good understanding of aperture, ISO and lenses, and you'll be producing masterful pictures. I can promise you that!
Love my Canon, it's surgically attached to my face, I bring it everywhere with me. Excellent starter camera, but something you'll have for a very long time.
If you see me, you see my Canon.

probably close to an entry level camera, based on price, but the average person will be extremely happy with results of everyday photos. I have had some really pleasing results taking close-up portrait photos which can be enlarged and put in a frame, hung on a wall...that kind of old fashioned thing ;)

Great camera to learn and progress – Firstly the best camera is the one you have on you. You could fork out $5000 for a 5DmkIII and still suck as a photographer. This camera WILL make you be a better photographer, the quality is very good and the price isn't that much. The sensor size is great and the photos you get are of high quality. I love my 700D.
Christmas gift – My wife bought me this camera for Christmas last year which was suggested to her by the store owner based on the amount she was willing to spend and the type of photography i would be doing, she upgraded the lens to a 15-85mm which i believe cost more than the camera body itself. Ive taken hundreds of pics, i love the features especially the art… Read more
bold effect. I now have several of my own pics framed and hanging on my living room walls, im no pro but friends and visitors are amazed when they remark on the framed pictures to discover that they are my own. This has also led me to making my own picture frames.
Very happy – A friend of mine bought one and took some pictures of my dog, had them printed then sent them to me. I couldn't believe the quality and detail. So I bought one & I'm not a pro but my photos are worth looking at now. When I've got time I use manual & practice different techniques but if I need to be quick, straight to auto & you can't go wrong.
Good quality camera for amateur – A good quality camera for $700 AUD, easy to operate and very good quality pictures. It could be better to buy 1 single lens 18-135 instead of buying 2 (18-55) and (55-250).
Very happy with photos – Excellent all round, Canon 700D with twin lense kit, cash back offer $150 until end January, 2015, purchased two I was so impressed, one for my daughter and one for myself. Software easy and good to use, shoots in raw or raw/jpeg or jpeg. Interesting effects on camera settings. Light, easy to use, comes with an easy to read manual. Handy tutorials on internet by Canon and helpful photographers on facebook Aussie Photography. Show 2 replies
Canon EOS 700D Twin Lens Kit – I needed to upgrade to a new camera from my old Pentax P30N.I've been looking for a while now and I spoke with a couple of work colleagues who have recommended the Canon cameras 600D/650D, so I shopped around and finally settled on the 700D twin lens kit. I'm not fanatical about photography but like the next person you like your happy snaps to be… Read more
good quality. I purchased the camera last month on line (see my Review EGlobal) and this camera is fantastic. It has all the features you need to get started in digital photography, it is relatively simple to use and comes with all the basic accessories you need to get started. The camera is light easy to hold and the screen and viewfinder are easy to use. The settings panel/screen is relatively simple to use. Alternatively, set the camera to auto, lens to AF and stabiliser to on, and off you go. It can be that simple, I couldn't believe it. The results were terrific. Like anything you purchase you need to read the instruction manual. It also helps if you have a friend/acquaintance who can help. Great camera and I'm very pleased with this purchase. Light body and simple to use The very light weight construction of included lenses is a bit ordinary could possibly be easily damaged if accidently knocked or dropped
Upgrade camera! – Doe so much research to try and find the perfect camera to suit what i needed it for. Looked at so many different stores and finally found it for a great price. Upgraded for the purpose that I wanted a video camera but thought, kill 2 birds with 1 stone and just get a new DSLR, going from a 1000d to this, it's amazing. So in love with my new camera swivel screen, video camera, can fit all my canon products little expensive
Canon 700D Twin Lens Kit, Very Happy, Great product, – After reading loads of reviews and using a friends older version. I settled for the 700D. Canon had a $150 off the purchase price until the end of Jan.2014 so long as you purchased your camera from an authorised Canon dealer. This gave me a crash course in the 'grey marketing' of electrical goods in Australia. Beware as buying these cheaper… Read more
prodcuts does not give you warranty or the cash back! I decided to buy the Twin lens kit. Missed out on the most awesome deal at Costco - $844, ended up getting it from Digicity for $919 including the price of shipping to my address. So $919 for the twin lens kit minus the $150 cash back = $769.
Awesome pics, easy to use controls, great first DSLR. Should have got one years ago!! Touch screen, swivel screen, wide strap, easy to use, image quality
