I had an Insurance claim for Pool Cover. Captain Nemo of Helensvale came out and took measurements of the Pool Cover. At a later date they came out to replace the Pool Cover. they screwed it on with PK screws. But they did not adjust the sliding sections evenly before screwing the straps on. When I decided to try it out and wind the Cover up. I found that they had never tried to wind it up to test. As when I started to wind the Cover up the Roller fell apart due to lack of checking overlap of Roller sections. Approx 90 mm of Overlap on Roller.
I Contacted Captain Nemo to get it fixed. Here is their reply.
Thank you for the photos. Sorry to hear you've had these issues arise. Because this is an extendable roller this is how it has accrued. We just replaced the pool cover through the insurance claim and attached it to your current roller set up. Your roller tube is designed to slide into one another as its fully adjustable.
I replied and told them I cant slide the tubes as its been screwed by the PK screws you used. Then I got a reply to my email The work performed was necessary to facilitate the attachment of the newer style cover and clips to your existing equipment. While the use of screws were required for this specific configuration, a newer style roller suited for your pool would allow for an installation without any screws at all.
To make the newer cover and clips function with your current extendable tubes, the method employed was the best available option. I suggest upgrading your roller to a model that complements the new cover to resolve these spacing and sliding issues. Captain Nemos reply.
I then emailed them and said completely unsatisfactory as I cant use it as end falling off. I suggested to them that seemed they ruined the Roller they should replace it at there expense. Gave them a time frame to answer and they failed to reply. So keep clear of these cowboys as they refuse to come out and rectify. I strap even has a broken screw.
Before this I never had a problem with the operation of the Pool Cover or Roller for a few years that it was installed.
So overall they needed a minus star or should I say stars.
I experienced issues with my salt chlorinator which is still under 2 years warranty. Codie from the Cleveland store lodged a fault call with the manufacturer who completed a site visit without resolution. Poor customer service. Helensvale – The attitude of one particular staff member was very poor when taking back a faulty item (pool hose). Also when returning another item still in its box, they didn't want to refund me. Made me feel quite embarrassed for doing nothing wrong. Seems they were only interested in the money. Big show no go – Captain Nemos's are hopeless at retail. They quote different prices over the phone than they do when you are in-store. I rang for a price on a pool pump over the phone and when I turned up they told me that the quoted price was wrong and would not honour it. Needless to say I bought my pump elswhere and will never go back. God on you guys! Show details
