come back, and sometimes he'd do something, never ever getting it right. Each time he did some work we ended up with more leaks in the same or different places, one would get fixed and then another would spring or we'd have several at once. Twice the pool had to be emptied because he didn't carry the correct bungs, adding more cost to refill and twice we ended up with leaks, that's apart from the visits in between. Then we were accused of turning on the pump when the closed system was incorrectly turned on. It didn't matter how many times we said we hadn't turned it on, he continued saying the same thing. When an expert arrived he found the leak to the pump was caused by extra O ring in the wrong place and a coupling that had to be tightened, simple enough really. The leak experts had to dig out the concrete around the pipe because he had stupidly cut the pipe off at ground level. Both his attempts at fitting a sleeve failed. Don't ever use these people, they have no experience, they don't have proper equipment, they just buy the franchise and do a short course, most of which is spent on admin I have since learned! Both the pool and the leak expert were aghast at the standard of work that had been done. For anything more than emptying the skimmer box, go to your local pool shop and employ someone who knows what they are doing. Talking to friends, the general consensus seems to be avoid all Jim's various businesses.

there were no free service slots open in the next 4 weeks - which is what usually happens.

So, deciding to do something different this time, I called Jim's Pool Care, spoke to a friendly & professional lady, and she passed on my details to Paul, who services the St Ives NSW 2075 area. He made contact with me in 30 mins, and came to our house promptly, and on time ! - the very same afternoon !. Paul was very well-presented and had an aura of professionalism about him - which inspired my confidence. He quickly diagnosed the problem ( bearings), explained the various options open to me, recommended one, gave me a quote - which I accepted as it was a LOT less than I was expecting. A LOT LESS !

Paul then removed the filter pump, and returned with the freshly repaired pump the very next day. Quickly re-installed, it now works perfectly, and is very silent.

After this pleasant experience with Jim's Pool Care, and with Paul particularly, I'll never deal with the Pool Shop Clowns again...

company. Jim’s this action has hugely affected our trust with them. Please stay away from them, even if you don’t use them, they charge for providing their quote. No loyalty service. Their price and charges have increased exponentially. If I had a chance I would give them -5 stars. We will not contact them again. They lost business with 6 of my properties. I had to terminate his services immediately after being blatantly lied too.

I think he forgot I have extensive CCTV covering the property. I heard him outside and went out to speak with him while he was in the pump enclosure, when I received a phone call and I when back inside with him seeing me. While I was inside, I heard the fuse box door shut but didn't think much of it. When I went back outside 20 minutes later, he wasn't there, and I waited a short while before going back inside. I then received a message from him saying he had attended but the chlorinator was turned off at the mains and he had gone.

I immediately replied if he had switched back on and I have not touched it but he hadn't replied. I had only been swimming in pool day before and everything was running. I had to go out and forgot about it until I returned to swim on Sunday. To find the pump off I went into the pump filter enclosure to reconnect it. I found a fitting and all the power for chlorinator and pumps pulled from the socket. I took the fitting to local PoolWorx and he supplied me a new one which I reconnected and start only to find the power was off at main house circuit board as well.

I was pretty upset that instead of advising me a part has broken he has flat out lied to me and left my pool with no filter system running. I often travel away for work for weeks at a time. I understand plastic outside breaks and this wasn't an issue, leaving the pool filter system off and lying about it is.

He messaged on Monday and apologized for confusion. When I responded with the fact I was super upset he had left my pool not functioning and not let me know, replied he had found it that way.

He forgot I have CCTV so I double checked the footage which had him in the enclose for while before departing and opening the switchboard on way out. I checked with next door neighbor in case he heard a fault and turned it off and not had a chance to tell me which he hadn't.

I promptly messaged him back and told him not to return. I don't take kindly to being treated like an idiot and lied too. I tried to take this up with Jims Pool Care directly but there is no contact to head office for complaints so here it is in open forum.
