Most uncomfortable shoes I have ever purchased, and yes they are correct size Show details
I bought a pair of shoes from Cariuma that were extremely uncomfortable and clearly not fit for purpose ie. walking. I returned them in pristine, unworn condition, exactly as they arrived, hoping for a straightforward refund. Instead, the company falsely claimed the shoes had been worn and refused the return. This is simply not true. I’ve since… Read more
reported them to Fair Trading.
It’s incredibly disappointing to be treated like a liar when you’ve done the right thing. Between the poor product quality and their refusal to stand by fair consumer practices, I would strongly advise others to avoid this business.
I bought 3 pairs of CARIUMA sneakers based on the reviews describing how comfortable they were. I was looking for an every day shoe for getting around town or travelling. After carefully checking the size guide and allowing time for wearing in I have to say that these are the most UNCOMFORTABLE sneakers ever. They are stiff in places that then rub… Read more
and create blisters and are not softening up or breaking in over time or use. I guess I got sucked in by glowing reviews and the great colour range. Definitely not a sustainable choice to buy shoes that are not comfortable and therefore don’t get worn.
As someone who's been wearing cariuma shoes daily for 2 years now here's my review Positives - The shoes are comfortable ennough - The soles last longer than other brands - Delivery is fast - nice designs - vegan and environmentally friendly - customer support is friendly Negatives - little rubber edges on the shoes have ridges that are… Read more
extremely hard to clean. So my shoes always look dirty - very small I think I sized up 2-3 times - return shipping is at customers expense - they are expensive this wasn't so bad when I could use the USA store as the US one has tons of really good coupons, putting them in the same price range as other brands. However Now there's a AU store, shipping is faster but I wind up paying 20% - 30% more for my shoes. - Your not allowed to pick what country you buy from the Australian store has limited options.
Poor customer service – Very poor custom service. They do not respond to emails. I filled out a return form and sent them an email a few times but no one bothers to respond. The phone number is not valid. Show details
Don’t recommend – Look good. No support. Thin soles. You can feel gravel very sharply. No idea why they are recommended. Scam. Show details
Most comfortable ethical sneakers – I found Cariama when I was looking for shoes that were ethically made, look good and were really comfortable. I've now bought a whole bunch for myself and my family. The shoes are very comfortable and have outlasted other brands I've had. Their return process is easy and fast (I had to do this when I ordered the wrong size shoe for a family member). Highly recommend. Show details
Comfortable & green so what else can you ask for – Very comfortable, great price and I contribute to plant trees on earth...awesome. I have two different pairs and they don't hurt my feet like some other brands. They come in many styles and colours. I would love a boot with zipper style, different lengths to come out next please. I really like the idea, but buyer beware – I really liked the idea of buying some new shoes from a company that planted trees - seemed like a great solution. But of course, being an online retailer, there was no way to try them on. They do have measurement guides on their website, and I followed them carefully. So I tried them out when they arrived, and after a couple of hours, I was in… Read more
absolute agony. The shoes didn't fit, and this is where the problem came in. Because I'd worn them, I couldn't return them. But how are you meant to try them? And really, it does take more than just a minute of wearing them to see how they fit. The online fitting guide clearly didn't work in my case, and now I'm down $109. I mean, I guess at least I planted a couple of trees, but it was an expensive mistake.
Most places have decent return policies, like returning clothing. Cariuma does not, which is obviously a problem for the business model that they have. So, if you're lucky and they fit you, then great! You've done well. If not, then beware that they won't accept returns once you've given them a go.
