Good for general cooling of a small room – Affordable fan that does it's job as like all other similar pedestal fans. Has 3 speeds, oscillate or stand still within the press of a button. The fan itself can be tilted up or down and the stand can be height adjusted. No remote control. Simple to assemble and simple to use. The motor or spinning of the fan blades is a bit noisy as the fan is working, but it could be music to some people's liking that can help them drift to sleep.

You can easily take the front cover off to clean the blades.

The only annoying thing is the white plastic hub caps that covers the end of each of the four legs on the stand, they come off all the time even when you move the fan slightly across the floor. Fitting it back on ain't easy until you find another came off again. Superglue might solve the problem...

Overall great for small size lounge room, guest room or sleeping room on a hot day but not recommended for very hot days. We use this along with our Ac to help circulate the air.

Poor quality components and design – We bought this pedestal fan from Coles for $20. Assembling the product was easy, but regrettably the design was such that the fan was always pointing at a 120 degree angle to the ground. Attempts to adjust the head so it would point parallel with the ground were fruitless - after letting go of the head, it would point back up again. The product design is such that the fan is always blowing air up. This is somewhat unhelpful given the intent of a pedestal fan is to blow air across the room or slightly down (e.g. onto a bed).

The fan itself was quiet and seemed of average quality for its price. However, given the unusual design flaw (which I've never encountered in a pedestal fan), we're taking it back to Coles and expect we'll get a refund.
