It works well even on a low speed, does not generate a lot of noise even at high speed! I am very happy the with this item overall! If I could change one thing it would be that the oscillation you could choose side to side or up and down not having to have them both at the same time. ... and maybe it could taller, it looks a little dwarfed beside my TV stand ;0 Show details

This fan is crap. You can only set it to 8 hours but you have to figure that out first. Do 4 hours then set another 4 to start later. It’s so small and goes up to the sky but how about you just go side to side. Worst waste of money. Tried to do a review, I had to option to post it or sent to ausclimate to review. I sent to review and never heard… Read more

A loud fan with frustrating functionality – The fan is loud, with a noticeable motor sound even on the lowest speed. The Wi-Fi function is difficult to navigate and hard to connect; it disconnects itself so you need to connect the fan and your device every time before you use wifi function. The fan’s directional adjustment is limited and frustrating. If you want it to blow in a specific… Read more

spot, you have to let it oscillate left to right or up and down and manually stop it at the right moment.

I purchased this fan for its advertised quietness, but the noise is quite noticeable—it sounds more like a loud air conditioner than just wind.

Returning the product is also costly, as the original packaging postage is almost half the price of the fan, and the company only covers return shipping if there is a manufacturing defect.

Terrible quality – Around 2 months old and it has already stopped working. The oscillation from the base unit still works but the fan blades no longer spin. Really poor quality for the price. Show details

Wonderful product – Wonderful product, the only thing I think the need to improve is they go in to standby mode after 8 hours which isn't great for a hot sleeper. Quite unit to run during the night. I love that the remote, makes life very easy. I have multiple products from this brand and I love all of them for quality and design and functional products. Show details ·  1

A fancy fan but less powerful – Design and Build Quality In terms of appearance, the Ausclimate Air Circulator features a minimalistic yet sturdy design. Its clean, modern look complements a variety of interiors, making it a suitable choice for those who appreciate simplicity. However, while its design is aesthetically pleasing, its height might be a point of contention. The… Read more

unit stands just under 1 meter tall, which does not meet the expectations for a “pedestal” that is often associated with larger, height-adjustable models.

This unit’s height is fixed, meaning you cannot adjust it to suit your specific needs. When placed on the floor, the buttons located on the base can be somewhat awkward to access. Fortunately, this issue is mitigated by the inclusion of a remote control and the option to control the air circulator via an app, which provides a convenient alternative for users who prefer not to rely on the physical buttons.

Features and Functionality One of the features that stood out to me was the 1H, 2H, 4H ON/OFF timer settings. These settings are useful for those who prefer to set a timer for their fan to automatically shut off after a specific period. However, in my experience, I didn’t find much value in this feature. I rarely needed to use it, as I typically prefer continuous airflow. In fact, the air circulator already has an automatic shutdown feature after 8 hours of operation, which became a drawback for us.

My husband, in particular, was disappointed by the 8-hour auto-off timer. He prefers having a fan running all night long while he sleeps at night, and it was frustrating for him when the air circulator switched off while he was still asleep. In this regard, a non-shutting-off feature, like a traditional fan, would be a welcome improvement.

Performance and Airflow When it comes to airflow, the Ausclimate Air Circulator offers a relatively quiet operation. Even at its maximum speed, it remains quieter than many traditional fans at full speed, which is a definite advantage if noise is a concern. I have attached a video of the sound at full speed.

That said, the unit does feature an interesting wide-angle oscillation, allowing the head to move both horizontally and vertically, which can be combined for a more dynamic airflow. This can be useful for distributing air more evenly across a room. I’ve attached a video demonstrating this feature, which I found quite neat. It adds versatility to the device, as you can direct the airflow in a number of different directions to suit your preferences.

Comparison to Traditional Fans In my research, I took some time to better understand the role of an air circulator versus a traditional fan. The key difference, it seems, is that an air circulator is intended to move air throughout the room and promote overall air circulation, hence evening out room temperature, rather than creating breezes like a fan. Many also argue that there is no difference between an air circulator and a fan.

To test this theory, I compared the performance of the Ausclimate Air Circulator with traditional fans in two similarly sized rooms (3m x 4m each). On warm days, I found little to no noticeable difference in terms of room temperature between the two rooms.

When comparing it to our traditional fans, I was disappointed by the weakness of the breeze, especially at maximum speed. Even on its highest setting, the airflow was significantly less powerful than that of a standard table fan. Only when Turbo mode was engaged did the Ausclimate air circulator produce a comparable breeze to a traditional fan, but this feature is only one for 1-2 minutes after activation.

Final Thoughts In conclusion, the Ausclimate Air Circulator is a fancy fan with several additional features, such as remote control, app connectivity, and timer settings. While it’s quiet and offers wide-angle oscillation for more dynamic air movement, its performance in terms of airflow strength is not so impressive.

For those who are primarily looking for a fan to cool a room or deliver a strong breeze, I would say this air circulator may fall short. However, if you're more interested in a quiet, efficient air mover for general air circulation, or a device that blends well with modern décor, the Ausclimate Air Circulator could still be a good option.

Ultimately, I would describe this product as a stylish and well-built air circulator with added features, but it might not be the best choice if you’re looking for the powerful airflow of a traditional fan.

Quiet and effective – This fan is so much better than our previous Dyson fan. It is really quiet and I like that it has the option of oscillating vertically as well as well as horizontally. I have it on overnight and it really moves the air around without being annoying. It is by far the best and quietest fan we have ever had.

Aesthetically beautiful fan, but unfortunately overpriced, loud and lacking a filter – Summary of pros/cons (each is described below in depth) PROS - Beautiful design with fabric/matte finish that hides fingerprints, wide range of movement, remote control, timer setting for on/off, ability to connect over Google/Alexa, child safety. CONS - Loudness of motor (especially when changing speed settings), loud beeping when settings… Read more

changed, lack of filter, expensive price tag of $270.

Overall opinion - While it is aesthetically beautiful and with some good features and an amazing range of movement, the loud motor and lack of filter heavily outweighed all positive aspects and I believe there are more affordable products with the same features, or much better products for the same price range as this.

Style/design - Beautiful matte finish that ensures no fingerprints are left over the buttons and nice fabric finish on fan head. It looks and feels well made and sturdy. Ausclimate have taken the "traditional" pedestal fan appearance and updated it to be modern and aesthetically gorgeous, and I think they have done this very well.

Operation and ease of use - Very easy to just unbox, switch on and use. On/off timer is easy to set and there is an app available to use through wifi as a smart device that can be externally controlled (this could be good for pet parents to turn on/off while out of the house).

Wind flow/speed - great variation between the low and high speeds with multiple levels in-between. The high speeds is very powerful and did noticeably cool the air, however you pay the price with how noisy it is. There is a turbo setting (again very powerful but VERY loud) and a "natural" setting that auto-adjusts between low-med-high settings to mimic the variations in a natural breeze.

Noise levels **very problematic** - Ausclimate describes the fan as having "whisper-quiet speeds" but this is definitely not the case. While the actual blades are not loud, the motor makes an annoying high pitched whirring noise even at low speeds. When the speed is increased/decreased you can audibly head the motor revving up/down. It has a natural setting where is will switch between low/medium/high speeds to mimic natural variations in wind flow, but the constant revving up/down noises becomes incredibly annoying. This noise was so annoying we could not stand having it in the same room as the tv and moved it to the home office where we usually work with headphones on. I am not sure how this has been adversited as being "whisper quiet" as the motor is unreasonably loud.

Lack of filter - There is no filter in the Ausclimate fan and as such I cannot understand the $270 price, especially as there are so many similar/cheaper priced products with filters on the market. HEPA filters have been a massive improvement in our home for allergies.

Range of movement and remote control - Great range of movement that definitely boosts air flow. There is the ability to direct it straight up to the ceiling which is really good to promote air circulation without having the fan directly on you. One downfall of the remote is that the fan audibly beeps when you change anything (we originally had this in our 6-month olds room thinking we could change the fan settings via the remote from the doorway, but the loud beeping made this pointless).

Comparisons to other products - We also have both dyson and kogan bladeless fans (purchased for ~$500 and ~$200 respectively) that we directly compared this to. These are basically silent on low-medium settings and considering they both contain filters, I would recommend both of those over this product.

An efficient, powerful yet really quiet, compact pedestal fan - unobtrusive in any modern home – Phew – a rather long name for a cute pedestal fan! I received this unit to review as part of Productreview’s Ambassador program – and am so glad I did! I would never have thought to look for a Pedestal Air Circulator; I mean really – who does that? I struggle with our Aussie summers, much preferring cooler times of the year. I am a total wuss,… Read more

when it comes to hot weather – so I’m a great choice to review such a gadget!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS When advised I was going to be provided with the Ausclimate Ecosmart Pedestal Air Circulator for review – I Googled images (as you do). It looked HUGE in the pictures and I found myself wondering where I would put it!

When it arrived; I was pleasantly surprised to find it roughly the same size as a desk fan – and far more usable than the giant I was expecting! I was also surprised to see that it was fully assembled, zero assembly – aah such a blessing!

It looks much nicer than any fan I have ever owned! The shroud around the fan blades covered in textured grey fabric (black also available); gives a more stylish look than a typical pedestal fan.

MY REVIEW I am going to call this a Pedestal Fan, rather than a Pedestal Air Circulator; it may serve the purpose of a circulator; however I’m using it as a fan – and I think most people will. But – it’s much better than any pedestal fan I’ve ever used before, as follows:

DESIGN The Ausclimate Ecosmart is intelligently designed and well made:

• Lightweight - the centre shaft is metal, so it’s suitably strong, yet easily carried from room to room, with one arm.

• Power - ducted fan type shrouds make propellers more effective, the duct can increase efficiency by up to 90% - when compared to a similar-sized propeller in free air.

• Quiet - ducted fans are much quieter, due to the reduction in turbulence, because of this increased efficiency, fan blades can be much smaller, further aiding noise reduction.

• Focused air flow – the shroud/duct directs the air in a more narrow, controlled manner. This means it can be targeted to move air to an individual or to shift air from point to point. • Remote control - comes with a small remote control, essential for convenience; especially hot nights when sleeping – you can quickly boost or switch off. I do find the button for Oscillation (fan pointing in the right direction, angle etc) – fiddly to get precisely pointed, but it’s not a major issue.

It has an On and Off timer, some may use this – but it’s not a feature I use. There’s a Turbo button boosting speed to maximum for 2 – 3 minutes, perhaps for when you’ve come in from outside all hot and bothered? And there’s a button labelled Natural, to imitate the variation in wind speed outdoors, it varies and stops and starts the machine – again not a feature that floats my boat.

• There’s also an App, I did not use it, the remote is more than enough for my needs.

WOULD I BUY ONE?

Yes certainly – I really like mine; it’s an efficient, powerful and really quiet, compact pedestal fan that’s unobtrusive in any modern home.

You’ll need to shop around though; as at December 2024, online prices range from $189 at Harvey Norman to $269.99 - ($270 without the price trickery), so it pays to let your fingers do the walking!

Fans have transitioned to “Air Circulators” - who knew? – I agree with many reviews on this site that praise the style and design of this fan, my bad... I mean air circulator! In comparison, other manufacturers offer similar… Read more

circulators from $79 (not Smart) to well in excess of $300 (Smart but no smarter than usual). You’d be wise to compare apples with apples in a store, then check the prices online, before making a final commitment.

Whilst being impressed with the overall form, I was disappointed to discover that the pedestal model I was sent to review, does not extend any higher, when it’s out of its box, which means it’s not much taller than some standard desk fans. I think this could be a major disadvantage for some customers. I also prefer where some manufacturer's mount the manual controls on a panel at the top of the pedestal, rather than on the base, as is here.

Fear not, you do not need to crawl across the floor on your hands and knees to operate the controls, a small handy IR remote control is provided. For even greater flexibility, use Hey Google or Alexa on your smartphone and then control the ‘AC’ with your voice or set-up a scene, for the complete experience. The Ausclimate app also provides separate control buttons for the vertical and horizontal oscillation, which is much simpler than one button needing multiple presses. The photo is a screenshot of the app's home screen.

So, whilst I have reservations about the low height of the pedestal, the short length of the power cable and the noticeable noise level of the motor at high speeds, I appreciate the sleek Dysonesque looks of the design and in this instance, I suspect many customers would be happy with its form over function.

The prettiest pedestal fan you'll see – First impressions? The unboxing was a treat—no plastic waste, just neat paper wrapping. fans so ugly? It’s like they all came off the same boring assembly line in 1982. This one actually has some thought put into the design, which is refreshing. It’s small, sleek, and doesn’t scream, “I’m here to ruin your carefully planned decor.”

Size-wise, it’s definitely on the smaller side, but don’t let that fool you—it punches way above its weight when it comes to airflow. And the best part? It’s super quiet. You can barely hear it, even when it’s working hard to move a surprising amount of air. Perfect for sleeping, working, or just pretending you’re in a high-end hotel.

Bottom line: If you want a fan that doesn’t look like it belongs in a mechanic’s workshop and works like a dream, the Ausclimate EcoSmart is a winner.

Great Fan in a Little Package – I literally looked at this Pedestal Fan while looking at some at Harvey Norman and thought to myself this would be a great addition to the home. surprised.

For a small package the Air Flow is great it’s very good for a small bladed fan it has great throughput.

I use it mainly in the master bedroom that helps to cool the room a little quicker due to the fan able to move in multiple directions helping to move the cool air around faster.

.: Likes :.

1. It might be smaller then other Pedestal Fans however the air flow is amazing

2. The smaller form factor allows it to be placed in areas with limited space

3. It’s WiFi enabled allowing to remotely turn on and off swivel left to right and pan up and down and has Google and Amazon Support

4. I like that you can setup timers to turn on and off within a certain timeframe

.: Dislikes :.

There isn’t much to dislike however I run the Apple Echo System not Google so the lack of Apple HomeKit is a bummer if love for it to have HomeKit Support in the future!

If I was to recommend a space saving Fan then this is the one for you. A small package with WiFi controllability and some Smart Home support.

I would 100% recommend this for anyone looking at a good fan at a good price that won’t break the bank.

Decent and smart circulator option – Pretty happy with this unit. I was keen to give this type of fan a go, moreso for the circulation function. The primary purpose of wanting this unit was to move cold air between rooms. I have a home office connected to a dining room with a large AC unit. For Summer, I need to pipe cool air in there. I currently use a duct fan and length of… Read more

flexible ducting to grab cool air in the dining and blast into the office. It's an acceptable solution, will keep the small office within 3 degree of the dining room.

The issue is the lack of extraction and uneven temperature layer - the air doesn't circulate, leaving distinct hot and cold areas. I have a vornado that is meant to help circulate and spread the air around but it's ineffective. Great at moving lots of air in one direction - doesn't move it around.

I originally tried to use the Ausclimate to push hot air out of my office. It wasn't any better than the vornado - but when we set it up to oscillate opposite the cool air duct it was absolutely fantastic. It oscillates on two planes, (up down, side to side) and mixed with the high volume flow It was really effective at making the room temp even. I guess that's intuiticw - it's a circulator in principle, just with the added bonus of being raised on a pedestal and oscillating in two axes. It was slightly cooler as well, my best guess is the oscillation range of movement meant air was being directed out the door, allowing the incoming AC to be more effective. I can use the google home app to control the speed and oscillation which is good, but it does lose sync fairly frequently. It was pretty easy to hook up though (easier than nest camera) .

The big test came in the living room - which is very long with a single AC unit at one end. The opposite end gets warm in the afternoon as the AC cannot reach it. We set the smart fan to 'stir' up the air at that end of the room and it worked a treat - normalising the temp across that space.

Lastly - we use it in our sons room at night. It's nice to be able to set the timer while he falls asleep and have it turn off reliably. He likes the natural mode that changes the speed randomly.

So to sum it up - pros 1. Does an excellent job circulating air. World's better than a static floor circulator. 2. Quiet 3. two axis oscilating head 4. smart controls are pretty good. Can ask google to turn it on and off. 5. TImer for on AND off should be a standard on every fan.

Cons 1. Easily knocked over - fan head is somewhat heavy (given the motors for the fan and movements) 2. Smart control option is finicky - difficult to have Google Home maintain a constant connection to it.

Strong recommend from me - keen to see in winter how it goes with moving warm air about.

What a winner! – We got this fan in November 2024 to try. We have been using it almost daily for over a month now and overall we've really thoroughly enjoyed it (I was surprised I'd get so much joy from a little fan but here we are lol) and will definitely continue to use it going forward. also powerful enough to really move air around a larger room. Its size allows it to sit on a desk or on the floor or even a deep shelf and not take up valuable floorspace in a smaller room/house. - I love that it comes with a little remote so it can be controlled from a distance. - Super quiet even on it's fastest setting (see my video to hear it)- When its on the slower settings you can barely tell its even on! This is a huge win for our noise sensitive household. - The app and wifi allows you to have the fan going before you get home or to control its settings while you're away from home (should you need to leave it on for pets etc) - App useability and connectivity was seamless and very intuitive to use. - The grey fabric covering brings a touch of class to an usually very classless item. - Grey colouration is unobtrusive to most home or office designs and it allows the fan to sort of blend in with its surroundings which is great. (It comes in black but I really love the grey) - Holy wow the rotational directions on this fan is utterly amazing! I've never owned a fan with such fantastic 3D directional flow and options. It allows me to point it exactly where I want the air to go and drastically increases the overall circulation of air in our office (which is 3x3.5m) Without having to have a fan blowing in your eyes and drying them out. - Its a very powerful (though quiet) unit too. We have put it in our loungeroom to blow A/C into the non A/C'd room that ajoins it and it does this surprisingly well. While sitting in the smaller room aprox 3.5m away from the fan itself, it feels as though the A/C was just turned on inside that room! We are thoroughly impressed. - It came thoughtfully packaged and has everything you need to plug and go even without using the app. Something that I really value as some people don't always want to have to use an App to get something to work to its full potential. - I really love that it's Aussie family owned. It's a really nice feeling to be able to support Aussie families. - The ability to schedule the fans operation is extremely handy. As is the "Smart Scene" which means I can "set and forget" and still have my pets taken care of while I'm at work or the shops etc. If it suddenly gets cold the fan will turn off so my babies don't freeze without me having to log into the app and do it myself. This is especially good for places that get 4 seasons in a day. - Works with Google or Alexa which is handy -A generous 2 yr warranty is more than you get usually with fans and appliances. Provides peace of mind for sure. - The base is quite stable, we've knocked it a few times while it's on the floor and it's not once fallen over. The fact that the base is reasonably thick helps this a lot I think. - Build quality is excellent too, it definitely does not feel cheap in any way like most fans usually do.

The cons: - There is really only 1 thing that I can think of that would possibly improve this fan and that is a longer cord. We have limited power points in our rental home and having a longer cord would be great so we don't have to use an extension lead. But even that is really nit picking, this fan is just really fantastic and I honestly really love it.

Perfect fan for when aircon is too much – I was looking for a fan to use when I'm working at my home office desk, or sitting in the lounge room, and don't want to turn on the aircon to cool down the whole room, and use too much energy. This pedestal fan fits the bill perfectly. It hardly uses any power, and provides plenty of cooling feel just by having it pointed in my direction. I've… Read more

found I haven't even needed to turn my aircon on at all yet, despite having a number of 30 degree-plus days, and I'm saving power this way.

I wasn't completely sure about the height of the fan, which seems a bit low, but this obviously gives it a lower centre of gravity, so is less liable to be knocked over. I just stop its up/down oscillation at the correct height so that it's pointing at my face/body, and then just have the sideways oscillation to give it a bit of movement, so that works well for me.

The fan has plenty of power output, so much so that I tend to only run it on a low setting for individual cooling. At higher speeds, it provides enough force to move the air in the whole room. It's whisper-quiet on its low settings, and even at higher settings, not too loud.

It's very easy to operate this fan. It comes with a remote, but I've downloaded the Ausclimate app on my iphone to control it, as the settings are even clearer on the app, including separate buttons for the right/left and up/down oscillations, timer settings and settings for sleep or natural wind. The enclosed nature of the fan makes it very safe, and the grey cloth finish to it is much more stylish than the old-style plastic fans, and goes well with my blue/grey home decor.

This is not a fan, it is an air circulator! – This is an ambassador review. According my online research, a traditional fan supposedly only provides cooling benefits when it is directly facing you, whereas an air-circulator may work in any season by keeping the air in motion and making the entire room more comfortable! It does this by oscillating sideways and up-down, thereby creating… Read more

invisible jet streams that moves air around, ridding the room of cold or warm spots and circulating stale air with fresh air from an open window, for example. The use of the air circulator has been suggested to boost the circulation of the cold air from your A/C unit using the same principle. Correspondingly, the use of a heater in winter produces warm air which naturally rises to the ceiling, so by pointing the air circulator upwards using the lowest speed setting, this will circulate the warm air, resulting in more even room temperature.

With the above written, I wish Ausclimate could be more forthright with its claim as there is nothing in the user manual that professes to the above attributes. In fact, 'Operating Your Fan' is the title heading for the entire section on how to use the 'fan'! This is because the EcoSmart Pedestal Air Circulator is essentially a fancy fan. It is really quite pretty. It is well-built and packed with features. The fan is not especially large, probably about half the size of traditional pedestal fan, and comes fully assembled with a remote control. There is even an iOS or Google Play app which allows connectivity and control from a smart phone. Note that I have not the chance to try the iOS app at the time of writing this review.

So, the EcoSmart Pedestal Air Circulator can be used like a fan, because at its most fundamental, this is basically a smallish fan. In spite of the various marketing spiels online about the benefits of an air circulator, a fan, any fan, is also an air circulator. By pushing air out at front of the fan, a vacuum is created behind it and the air will be displaced to fill this vacuum, thus circulating the air in the room. It seems, the main point of difference is that an Air Circulator can direct the air vertically upwards!

Indeed, the most effective use of this air circulator in warm weather is when it is used in the direct 'fan' mode, when all the air is directed at the subject. The air-circulator concept is a lofty idea which either will take too long to feel cool, or it is not going to be all that effective unless the room is not larger than a bedroom. I have not had the chance to try this in the winter, where arguably there is benefit in circulating warm air from the ceiling downwards. However, I would also like to point out that many ceiling fans will have a switch which reverses its spin to circulate the warm ceiling air downwards in the winter, so if you have a ceiling fan...you have already got an air circulator for winter!

The EcoSmart Pedestal Air Circulator has 8-speed settings, plus Natural Wind and Turbo modes. Additionally, there is an 1-2-4Hrs off-timer, as well as an on-timer. The Oscillation mode can be set in the horizontal mode or vertical or a combination of both. However, there is no 'reset' option to bring the fan head back to a centre position. The Circulator comes with 2 years warranty, extendable to 4 years if your unit is registered at the Ausclimate web site.

In my opinion, the most important features of a fan is (1) It needs to be quiet, especially at the low or middle speed, and (2) It needs to be able to displace a large volume of air, because this ultimately how a fan cools down a subject. The Ausclimate EcoSmart Pedestal Air Circulator is reasonably quiet but there is an audible electronic whirring sound even at the lowest setting, it is not too bad, but I would prefer a more natural sound of air movement than another electronic noise. The fan is not particularly big, which may be a slight disadvantage but perhaps it is not in competition with traditional pedestal fans in terms of volume of air moved: I can feel a concentrated beam of air even at 1.5-2m away from the fan at the lowest speed. Perhaps this is the intent of the air circulator - to disturb the air in a room.

In the end, I like this fan quite a bit for its build quality and its cuteness and would consider buying it if it is on special!

Thank you Product Review and Ausclimate for the opportunity to review this interesting item.

Excellent quality, powerful performance and good looks – I thought all fans were the same, but this one is in another class! We’ve owned lots of fans over the years but this one is definitely our favourite. First impressions: It’s short. I was looking to see how to extend it. Turns out it does all its work from down low, scooping the air upwards and out. It is also light to move around. It has a… Read more

quality look to it, very different to your usual bargain plastic fan. You definitely get what you pay for. The fabric covering is lovely and because of its size it doesn’t overpower a room like other bulky pedestal fans.

Performance: This small but mighty fan has some serious power! You can vary the speed from a gentle beeeze to a gale-force wind (check out the video). It is quiet on most speeds except turbo (as expected). Turbo speed only stays on for a few minutes then it reverts to your last speed setting. It does a brilliant job circulating air in quite large rooms but we enjoy it most blowing directly on us in bed or at our study desk. There is a setting called “natural” which varies the air speed up and down like a natural breeze.

Air direction: There are so many options! It can oscillate left to right, up and down or a combination of the two. Or you can just use it in a static position.

Controls: You can control the fan using onboard touch buttons, the supplied remote control or a mobile app. The app worked well for us but you do need to create a login and you have to re-pair the unit if you unplug it. We did find the remote needs to be quite close.

If you are looking for a quality fan with good looks and great performance, you’re going to love this AusClimate EcoSmart Air Circulator.

A nice looking little fan I didn't know I needed – I received this fan as part of the ambassador program to trial and review. The fan arrived in its original factory packaging and I liked the fact that everything went into the re-cycling bin for an easy disposal, just cardboard and tissue paper - no plastic (save the wall plug pin protector). After unboxing the next two things to strike me were… Read more

its compact size and appearance. The fans shroud is a grey coloured textured material which makes it very modern and stylish looking. Whilst initially a little puzzled on the fans sizing I think I have found a 'niche' market - caravanners! I'll explain later or you'll probably workout why yourself. The fan seems very sturdily built and the slots in the fan guard are very small and I believe would exclude even the smallest of fingers. It is pretty good on the stability side of things, pretty good meaning a reasonable knock will see it fall over and it does not have an off balance switch and keeps going on whatever path it was on prior to the fall. I actually tested it several times causing it to fall over onto a tiled floor without damage to fan or property. So yes it's sturdy. The fan can be controlled by touchpads on top of the base section or via a supplied remote control (not Bluetooth so it must face the fan sensor in the front of the base @ +/_ 3m) and it may also be controlled via your smartphone after installing the manufacturers app. I didn't try this. Well, that's not completely true I installed their App on my smart phone and started the linking procedure but it required far too many passwords and too much access for my liking so I stopped. Just me being me. Anyway as mentioned it has a remote control which works fine. The remote control is powered by a button battery but I found it very hard to gain access and it required two simultaneous actions to open, so I believe it would be safe from small fingers. The fan has 8 speeds, plus a Turbo Boost, plus a Natural mode. So 1-8 just makes it go faster, Turbo it tries to lift off and Natural it goes from low to high/repeat (I found that annoying). Speeds 1-3 it's almost silent, 4-6 the motor has a definite whine and 7-8 & Turbo all you can hear is the fan (wind) noise. However, dependent on its operating environment, it's not that bad at any speed. For sleeping I'd find speeds 1-4 unobtrusive and the breeze plentiful. The fan head also oscillates both horizontally and vertically. This can be a challenge to operate and requires using the one button and cycling through left/right then up/down. Oh, and when I say up it will point directly up at the ceiling! Why? Because it can. So the head of the fan cannot be manually pointed where you want it to go. You must get it to that position by using the up/down/left/right menu. This initially can be a challenge as you may need to push the remote several times in rapid succession to achieve your desired wind direction. Challenging but not impossible. The fan is extremely portable and carried easily claimed weight could not be found but it's less than 2kg. It has a timer feature where you can set it to turn on/off after 1,2 or 4 hours and it will automatically turn itself off after 8 hours of continuous running. It comes with a 2 year manufacturers warranty.

CONCLUSION: It's a modern looking piece of furniture really. It appears a little short to be a room fan but its performance defies this fact. It is extremely functional. Being small in stature means it doesn't stand out in a room and with the modern styling and small size blends in quite well in my opinion. It is sturdily built. Has a remote control for ease of use and is very portable. As mentioned earlier I believe a 'niche' market to be people whom own caravans (me!) Yes I have a Sirocco 12v wall mounted fan in the van already, but this little beauty is perfect for the annexe or under the awning and side shade for air circulation. When on the go it can easily lay on either the bed or seat with pillows to stop any movement. It weighs nothing and takes up very little space = perfect. I like it. It's a BIG thumbs up from me.

An excellent fan but with way too many features – I was quite conflicted over the number of stars I should give this item. Not sure if it should get 3 or 4. Allow me to explain. It's a great fan. I am menopausal and have hot flushes regularly and when they hit, they hit hard and I need to cool down fast. This fan has plenty of oomph and gets the job done fast! As far as fans go, it's very… Read more

powerful and certainly brings the goods in that respect. I pasrticularly like the timer function on it because I have often forgotten to turn my fan off in my office. This alleviates this problem perfectly. It's very stable and isn't likely to topple over easily. It feels sturdy and well made. I also really like how it looks. It's a very nice looking fan.

What's not to like? Well... It's a weird height for a pedastal fan. It's too tall to be a desk fan yet too short to be a floor fan. I thought it would be adjustable as far as height goes, but nope... it's just a bizarre height. As luck would have it, I have a weird height shelf in my office where it fits perfectly, but others probably aren't so fortunate. It has a lot of extra functions that are of no to little use. The extra power blasty function- it already has 10 levels of fan to choose from. I'm sure it doesn't need that extra blast. The "natural" function is meant to simulate being in the great outdoors- but all it does is give you a blast of wind followed by a gentle breeze, followed by another blast. It just goes fast, then show, then fast, then slow, over and over again. I found this more annoying than anything and after trying it, just gave it up. The oscillate function... hmm.. it goes side to side and up and down. I am left undecided about this. Sure, all good fans should oscillate and this one does... but does it need to end up pointing straight up to the ceiling? I'm not so sure that it needs to go that far. I'm also conflicted about the button that starts and stops the oscillation. It's one button and it controls both the side to side and up and down functions depending on how many times you press it. This makes it almost impossible to get the fan pointing in the spot you want it to and then stop it.

Over-all I would say that it's an excellent fan if you need something with a lot of oomph. It's stylish and looks great and has extra functions that may be your thing if you like your fans complicated. However, it seems to me to have been overthought. There are too many unnecessary features as far as fans go, which brings the price up beyond a reasonable fan price and I just can't get past the height thing. Either you're a floor fan or you're a desk fan... pick a side and just be it.

Compact, easy-to-use and powerful fan, that's nice and quiet at low speeds but gets loud on high speeds – I was given the opportunity to review this ACAC300CB Ausclimate EcoSmart Pedestal Air Circulator as part of the Ambassador Program so here goes. First the Good: It's got a solid base and a fairly compact footprint, the head diameter is approximately half of a typical bladed "cage" fan. So it doesn't take up a lot of space, and feels stable. Yes… Read more

you can knock it over but not that easily. Build quality looks and feels decent, it's not a cheap, squeaky "plasticky" rattler. The "shrouded" (i.e. blade inside a cowling) construction does mean its smaller-diameter blade can move a lot of air, and "throw" it a longer distance than a "traditional cage fan". the shroud makes the blade very finger-safe for those who have little children with inquisitive hands. It's pretty easy to use, and the LED indicators on the base are simple to understand, and the unit comes with a small remote control. The "natural" mode produces a somewhat random variation in speed, to simulate a breeze and also changes the noise/volume of the fan. This is actually quite pleasant at lower speeds. Overall the unit is quiet at low speeds - but see below. The swing mode (from slightly below horizontal to vertically up and left-right in a 90 degree arc) does help circulate the air. It is possible to limit the swing to either left-right or vertical only. I also liked the "eco" packaging, it's all cardboard (see photo) with no plastic or polystyrene. Manufacturer offers a 2 year warranty which is reassuring.

The "Neutral" The grey (it also comes in a darker charcoal finish) textured cloth finish looks modern and should blend into most decors - however I wonder how clean it will remain in a house with young children who like to touch things with dirty hands. If you don't have kids it shouldn't be an issue, a periodic vacuum cleaning should be enough. Either way the finish is a matter of subjective taste - I personally prefer a satin or brushed anodised metal finish, which I think would be easier to keep clean...but also easier to scratch. The size and feel of the remote control may be a love/hate thing depending on the size of your hand and fingers. See photo, my hands are not particularly small.

Now the Not-so-Good: The pedestal is quite short and is not extendable, which means if you want it to blow over a bed while sleeping you have to stand it on a chair or bedside table - fortunately, the relatively compact base makes this possible. Otherwise, if it stands on the floor, it's either blowing along the floor OR if it's swinging, then diagonally and vertically up. While quiet at low modes, the fan does get loud at higher settings, and is very noticeable at the Turbo setting, it's a low thrumming sound, not unpleasant but louder than a comparable "cage" fan, but then it is also blowing more air. It reminds me a bit of a Dell 19" rack-mount server, in the sense it's a "professional" sound, not a whiny, rattly, buzzing one. But you will hear it and notice it if. So there's a trade-off between noise level and air volume. The remote control contains a button-cell lithium battery. While both the box and the remote control itself do carry the required warning, it's nevertheless a risk to be managed if you have small children. The battery is a large CR2032. I'd also like to see the remote control (and unit base) use larger fonts, that don't require reading glasses to decipher. The device is best suited to a smaller room like a bedroom or study, rather than a lounge or living room. The manufacturer's RRP of $269 is a bit optimistic, however the usual electrical retailers and department stores have them listed from about $189 (December 2024). So it's worth shopping around.

Conclusion: Would I recommend the Ausclimate EcoSmart Pedestal Air Circulator? Yes, if you're looking for a compact device for a smaller room. It's easy to use and can blow decent air volumes - as long as you don't mind the deep, thrumming noise at higher speeds. It is quiet on low speeds, particularly in the "natural" mode. I actually find it relaxing and it does help put me to sleep. If you can pick one at the lower price point, then it's not a bad buy. Time will tell how long it lasts or if it gets noisier as it gets older. Can it be made better - yes: 1) Please increase the font size on the unit and the remote control, there's enough space 2) Consider making the pedestal higher than a typical bed

It is a robust quirky fan (see below). It is quieter and lighter than pedestal fans. Safely! – Review of Ausclimate EcoSmart Pedestal Air Circulator: The instruction bulletin and remote control are hidden away under the packing and in the bag for the mains lead. I nearly threw them both away. I needed the instructions to explain what it does and how it does it. The good news: The ability to work with google home is good for us because we… Read more

have automated our house as much as possible so that we can check on the house while travelling. App works well. Easy to use and install. See below for the bad news and its ability to work with Google Home.

It looks like the spotlights used at a rock concert, is well made and about the same size. It can be set to automatically move in a mixture of vertical and horizontal direction, which looks clever, but I'm not sure that fully vertical is necessary. Great party trick especially on a hot summer night.

It is very safe to use especially for little fingers. It is very robust and even if it falls off a table I suspect it will survive. I didn't test it though!

It is definitely quieter and weighs a FRACTION of the common pedestal fans, making it easy to move it around. On full power it is quite loud but still quieter than the standard fans.

Ít's perfect for the little people's bedrooms on hot nights. (And the big people).

Obviously it isn't an airconditioner but it moves air around in style.

It can move a lot of air relatively quietly. Will it circulate air better. Yes, because of its abilty to move in any direction!

I used it on a hot day in my garage and it was very effective.

The bad news:

The app is great on it's own, easy to install and works well. But the implementation into Google home is limited to on and off. Google home allows me to speak to most devices and set all sorts of things. If a Highsense Air conditioner can be asked to change from heat to cool, set temperature and set mode, so can Ausclimate. It's not rocket science.

The Icons on the base are confusing. It takes a while to work out what they mean. I had to press the touch pads to work out what functions they control. Yes they are explained in the instructions, but most people just switch stuff on and read the manual when they can't work it out. Why not use better Icons?

It's quite difficult to work out how to set it to the vertical and horizontal direction and to stop it if you need it to stay in one direction. I struggled to work out how to limit the vertical and horizontal travel. I'm still not sure how to do it. There must be a way. But....

I dont see the point of it's ability to work fully vertically. Hot air rises, so possibly the intention is to send the hot air towards the ceiling.

I'm still getting my head around what the speed LED lights mean. There are a few different patterns depending on what? It's not a deal breaker, and they look great at night.

A good little fan that packs a bigger punch than you would expect – When I was asked to test and review this Ausclimate EcoSmart Pedestal Air Circulator, I was excited. I don't do heat well and if I could afford it, I would have ducted air con set permanently on 15 degrees but that's another story. So the air circulator arrived, well packaged. Out of the box, it's ready to plug in and turn on. It's pleasant to… Read more

look at, nice colour and looks sturdy. The one thing I did notice immediately (which I nearly took a star off for) is that the head of the fan is wrapped in some kind of fabric which I can't understand and personally don't like as it's not going to be easy to clean. The rest of the fan is going to be easy to wipe clean. The fan has many speed settings as well as oscillation option (side to side as well as up and down) and there's even a natural wind setting. There's also a remote which sits nicely in a hole in the base so hopefully it won't get lost. I had a look at the app but didn't bother with it as it appears to just do what the remote does and I don't usually do apps unless they are necessary, but it's there if you love the technology. I have to say that I like the fact that it's quite a lightweight fan and a good height. I have been standing it on my kitchen bench when I am cooking and it's fantastic for blowing the oven/cooktop heat away from me and if aimed well, straight out of the window. I plan to be moving it around the house with me in the hot weather and there's also a timer so I will see if I can use it to get me off to sleep on the hot nights and it should turn itself off after a certain time. Overall, I think this is a good buy, if you want a well made fan with many settings that's really portable.

Our new bedroom fan – My partner needs a fan to sleep year round. In the past we have had typical pedestal fans from Kmart - I always hated them as they get in the way. The past couple of years we have been using a Dyson air blade. My husband prefers the Ausclimate EcoSmart air circulator over the Dyson due to the way it moves the air around our room and he much… Read more

prefers the sound to the Dyson's high pitch. We've had a couple of hot nights already and the air circulator has been nice and cooling when I wake in the middle of the night.

Size wise this machine is smaller than a regular pedestal fan. It's pretty similar in height to our Dyson but more visually streamlined. I really like the design, it sits out of the way on our dresser and takes up a little less space than the Dyson. The fabric cover gives it a premium feel and the touch controls and remote are easy to use. It also pairs with an app, I haven't bothered to download the app as personally I don't need another app in my life. I like the 8hr timer - it works in perfectly with our sleep schedule and neither of us have to remember to turn it off in the morning.

It's on the pricer side for a fan but overall it is great quality, stylish and a premium design.

Compact yet powerful fan – When my Ausclimate EcoSmart Pedestal Air Circulator arrived I did notice the box had many pictures with information about the fan which gives the consumer a good insight to what it is and all the features it has. box. It is a compact size which is lightweight so very easy to move from room to room. The fabric covering elevates it above the usual look of a fan. It would fit into any décor and is a very nice-looking appliance. I found the instructions very easy to follow and the Wi-Fi was set up on both my phone and google home easily. However, I was disappointed to discover that the Wi-Fi needs to be set up every time the power is turned off. This meant re-pairing each time I moved it to another room or needed to use the power point for something else. Not ideal for those who do like to use their phone and/or smart speaker to control it. I don’t have this issue with any other wifi appliance including printer, TV, phone, tablet etc. It might be compact in size however it is a powerful unit. With 8 speed settings, natural mode and turbo mode there is a comfort setting for every situation. I like that it is very quiet and doesn’t rattle like previous fans I have had. The fan not only oscillates from left to right it also moves up and down. There is the option to have it oscillate left to right, up and down or both. This meant I had no pools of hot air lurking in the corners of the room. It works well with my air conditioner, helping to move the cool air around which makes the room more comfortable. The movement of air from all corners of the room also helps my Winix work more efficiently. There is a timer which can be set to come on in 1,2 or 4 hours which could be useful. The off timer can be set to 1,2 or 4 hours; however, it is preset to 8 hours, and I cannot find where to disable this so the fan will turn off after 8 hours. I found this annoying when I turned the fan on during the afternoon then it turned off automatically after 8 hours, during the (hot humid) night. Overall, the Ausclimate EcoSmart Air Circulator is a very powerful, feature packed fan which not only looks good but also performs very well.

phone . I found it easy to set up and very responsive to use. I like that I can turn it on if I’m out for the dogs at home .

My animals love it a little too much .

It’s light enough that you can use it all around the house. I’ve had it in multiple rooms I’ve had it when I’m cooking , office and my loungeroom . I do enjoy the air circulating mostly .

Also when it gets very humid I felt one more speed although the turbo is great . But for a little fan it packs a punch .
