Worth the money for the long term! – I've got the DC model and had it 4 months, it's been on almost 24 hours a day in that time as I live in a small place and it's more quiet than my handheld fan operating at 60-70%. It does provide a breeze, pretty happy with it, the DC model is power efficient too

Noisy and underwhelming – Disappointed I bought this fan online on the basis of good reviews. That was a mistake: 1. This fan is noisy. It’s not the blade cutting the air. It’s some kind of vibration coming through an imbalance of the motor or the blades. This means I can only use it a concrete floor otherwise there’s an irritating hum throughout the entire room. 2. The 3… Read more

speeds are badly chosen. My main complaint here is the low isn’t low enough and high is a bit excessive. High generates lots of blade noise as well as the aforementioned vibrations. 3. It’s pricey — and on the basis of the aforementioned problems simply not good value for money IMO. I can’t recommend it, but if you’re interested I strongly suggest that you try it out in store before you buy. ps I tried to post this review on the Vornado site, but it hasn’t appeared even though I got a response from the company. So, it seems you can’t trust them to publish critical reviews.

Powerful, compact... Love it. I'm getting a 2nd one for the other room – Favourite fan I've ever had. Compact, and super powerful air flow for its size. The only downside is that it claimed to be easier to clean than other fans. It's just as annoying as other fans. (unscrewing, awkward angles, lots of small nooks to try and get dust out of)  Show details

Expensive but worth the money – Bought this medium sized one brand new after being impressed by a small one I picked up at an op shop a couple of years ago for nine bucks! That one was so powerful for its size that when I moved to a hotter place and needed a bigger one I naturally went for another Vornado. There are some (but only some) days when I now use the larger Vornado… Read more

instead of the air con, it's that powerful. If you have limited space and can afford the 150 dollars, this is an excellent fan.

Great air circulator – I have two vornados already, bought this for my bedroom as it was energy efficient (the DC version ) so I could leave it on all night without too much guilt. Not noisy and is small , efficient! Circulates the air well so we put it on while the air con is on to move the cool air. Show details

Does the job! – Purchased our second Vornado last year! was perfect for the hot Brisbane weather. Easy to use and very powerful (medium size), we only ever have it on the first setting as it was powerful enough to cool the room. Only downfall would be the noisy and hard to clean! but we can live with that. Overall very satisfied with this product! Show details

Great while it lasted – ...but it didn't last. I got about 4-5 years out of it before the motor seized. Maybe that's good value - I don't know - but its an expensive fan and I expected it to last as long as I had a need for it. Took it apart, dusted it, lubricated the shaft - couldn't restart it. More junk for the landfill. Show details

Energy efficient, variable speed control, super quiet – This is a review of the Vornado 633DC model. 240volt version with a brushess variable speed DC motor. The 633 is a cheaper, different model. Needing a cheaper cooling option in our house as running the air conditioner is getting pricey. Found this fan after some online research. This fan incorporates a brushless 24 volt Dc motor as opposed to many… Read more

cheaper domestic fans using less energy efficient AC motors. The high torque output of this motors allows for a lot of air volume to be pushed around a room at full power and using a minimal 40 watts!! Incredibly the highest setting is so powerful I used it outside with an extension cord to blow away the leaves on the patio and driveway. The variable speed controller allows precise control of the fan speed and at at a low dial setting the fan is silent. We have never gone faster than 50% in normal usage. It is a bit pricey as it's a USA brand but worth the money and should last years due to the build quality.

Impossible to get front off to clean – It does move quite a bit of air. BUT it as noisy to begin with, and now that it's dusty it's *annoyingly* so, and the manual, while not only getting the number and location of the clips wrong, also fails to show how to unclip them to remove front, so I cannot figure out how to clean it, and feel it was a waste of money.  Show details

Not what I expected, got hyped – It works well, the sound it makes needs a bit of time to get used too, but it serves as white noise and drowns out the traffic noise coming from our window. It looks hard to clean, i still ahve not figured out how to clean it, it can suck up quite a bit of dust.  Show details

Great fan creates a nice breeze – I really like this Vornado fan, it does a good job of creating a nice breeze when you point it at the corner of the room and definitely cools the room down. We were recommended the larger model for our large lounge room but this one was on sale and have found it does a great job. It is an expensive fan, I shopped around and waited for it to go on… Read more

sale. The only one small negative as others have mentioned is it is quite loud on the highest setting but we don't use that anyway as the medium speed works very effectively.

Powerful Fan but doesn’t last long – Fan is really powerful and circulates the air around the room perfectly. We use it in a big lounge room and you can feel the air circulating wherever you are in the room. Downsides are that it is quite loud and has only lasted 8mths of normal use before the fan stopped working and a Smokey smell came from it. We took it back where we purchased it… Read more

and it was replaced without question. The new fan is 3mths in and going strong fingers crossed it stays that way.

Best thing for a good night's sleep – I use this fan pretty much every day during summer and it hasn't skipped a beat. It is used in a small bedroom and works best on the lowest setting. I've got it pointing at a corner of the room and the air flow that it generates feels like a gentle all around breeze rather than a wind that's pointing directly at your face. It does a great job of… Read more

making a hot summer's night bearable enough to sleep. Its whisper quiet on the lowest setting but can get distractingly loud on the highest setting.

For when you don't have a power point near you and still need a breeze – I have this fan set up on the other side of my room and on medium speed I can feel a solid volume of air moving past me. It's only far away from me because it does get loud, as you can imagine. It doesn't really get annoying though. But for the money, you'd definitely be better off putting it elsewhere. Like for buying 4 Kmart fans instead and having them all blow at you. Long story short, is it good? Yes. Is it worth the money? Nah.  Show details

Disppointing for the money – Overall....its not as impressive as the write up on the box. Works fine, just not as great as i had imagined after reading about it. On the middle setting though, i have to say its on the low noise side. But my $22 one from kmart works well too. I just dont “ feel “ the big difference in price enough to recommend  Show details

Great for cooling down hot room – We bought this fan to try cool down the bedroom at the end of the corridor which has no ceiling fan or air con, it gets hot during summer. This fan seems to be able to blow air from one end of the corridor to the hoy bedroom. Can blow the distant. Level 3 is a bit noisy though. We usually set it to level 2 so that my son can fall asleep in that room.  Show details

Great for moving air through the house – This has been great for moving cool air from one end of the house to another. Great when there's a cool breeze on one side but the other side is still hot. It's also really good around our toddler. It can't be toppled over like a tall fan and his fingers can't get caught in the grill.  Show details

Don't waste your money – I bought this fan from Harvey Norman today hoping that it is quiet and has true air circulation effect. None of this claims turned out to true. This fan is no better than a A$15 oscillating fan. It is noisy and the claimed air circulation is non-existing. Don't spend money on it.  Show details

great little fan – Since this one is very small, I bought it as only an add-on. But, despite its size, this fans provides really good air circulation as long as you use it in a small-size room. I have it set-up on my work desk and I can really feel its effect. Of course, like all fans, regular cleaning and maintenance is still needed to keep it working properly.  Show details

Good air circulation, unlike normal standing fan – Unlike normal standing fan, this fan provides good air circulation throughout the room. This model is good for small- to medium-size hall or room. However, if you need this fan for medium-size room, I personally feel that it would be better to get Vornado 660 model (or Large Air Circulator model) as the highest speed produces too much noise!  Show details

Circulates air effectively – I bought two of these high velocity floor fans while on sale hoping that they would pick up the cooler air that sinks to the floor and keep it circulating through open plan living areas. I've found them very effective in that respect and more effective than any other type of fan I've used (box, pedestal, ceiling). Fans such as these do not… Read more

reduce temperature but the air movement keeps skin feeling cooler and if you use them in conjunction with an air conditioner you will find you can run the air con at a higher temperature, making it more economical. My only reason for not giving these fans 5/5 is that one of them has a slight rattle, which can be reduced by changing the direction it points - but such adjustment can reduce the utility of the fan. The other fan is whisper quiet on low speed and not much louder even on high speed, so I suspect there is some issue with quality control with this model.

Great product – I saw the vornado in an infomercial and wasn't quite sure it would deliver on its promise until I saw it being used in a friend's house. It's one of the very few products that actually do what it promises. It's different from a normal fan because it circulates the air. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5-star is because of the noise it makez when it is in max.  Show details

Tiny and powerful! – This fan is perfect for under your desk or on a side table. While working, my husband uses it to keep his feet cool on the ground. It's compact enough that when those summer nights started up, we could put this on a side table and keep a nice breeze over us. It's not enough for a whole room, but good for one person. Very compact and powerful for its size.  Show details

I like it - a good fan - circulator. I imagine if would be even more effective if I had a air condi – I find the fan slightly louder than most so best to be aware of the actual noise prior to purchase. I miss not having a remote control or timer, something I think could be enhanced with other models. It does circulate efficiently, as such, I rarely keep the fan going all night.  Show details

Great for circulating air – I bought the mid range model at the recommendation of the salesman. Strangely, it is the highest wattage of the three models (60w). It's not too loud on the highest speed, though in a bedroom may be another matter. Low and middle speed is fairly quiet. It does move and circulate air as claimed. However, the box claims it will circulate air up to… Read more

23 meters which I think even on the highest setting. Is stretching it a bit.

Reading the instructions, the main point seems that it is intended to work in conjunction with air con.

One of the better fans I have bought and has a 5 year warranty.

Best one by far – searched for a high velocity fan and came across the reviews of this 'air mover', which swayed me to purchasing the Vornado 633 as it sounded perfect for my needs. Well, I have not been disappointed, it is a fantastic way to move the air and cool the room, best one yet by far. It is perfect for low running cost - high efficiency needs and said to work well in winter also by distributing the warm air evenly, I am yet to try that out.  Show details ·  1

I was sceptical but am now convinced – Living in the tropics with an open plan, open on one side house with no aircon, I was sceptical. It was a stinker day on Friday so I bought one. Love the output of this fan,it pushes a lot of air around. When I got home, I put it in my living area. I could notice a drop in temperature in about 10 minutes. It's relatively quite. Moves Air – I live in a unit that cops morning sun, and a floor fan wasn't doing it for me. I bought one of these, I put it on the floor, on low speed, and it moves the air so that there aren't any more hot spots. It's not so much a fan as an air mover. A reality check. On speed 3 it makes some sound, but not as much as my air conditioner. I'm happy. Also, it's a lot more solid and stable than your every day fan.

Best Fan Ever – After researching fans online, I decided to buy a Vornado based on their excellent feedback. I am not disappointed. This is the best fan I have ever owned. originally intended to buy a tower fan which I have had in the past but found that you had to be directly in line with the air outlet to gain any benefit. Not so with this model as it distributes cool air to every part of the room without oscillating due to its unique design. Would recommend this fan with no reservations.
