  Moisturising Cream

Only temporary – This was recommended to put on my face before and after another cream I’m using. It’s supposed to be gentle on the skin. I’ve only been using it for a month but find it’s greasy, doesn’t absorb or it takes ages to absorb. But it’s not too bad. It doesn’t have a perfume smell which is great. And I’m inclined to put moisturiser around the outside… Read more

of my mouth which can leave a terrible taste if drinking something and it connects with the cream. This moisturiser doesn’t have a taste either. Using Cetaphil is only temporary , I will eventually go back to the old moisturiser that I’ve used for decades.

I hate the new version – I used the tube version of this cream for decades on my face. They recently changed the formula and the new version gives me breakouts. I am so disappointed! They claim the new version is non comedogenic but that's a lie. I'm currently looking for a new facial moisturiser or a dupe version of the old Cetaphil formula.

Magic in a bottle – I’m currently using the Cetaphil moisturising cream for dry to sensitive skin after being prescribed a really harsh gel for my acne. Using this gel has made my skin sore and really flakey. The cetaphil cream is beyond amazing at levelling out what my face is going through. It’s nice and thick and goes in easy, it seeps into the skin really fast… Read more

and isn’t oily. I was worried about using anything on my face as everything I’ve tried tends to burn but this cream is magic. Don’t know how else to explain it!

Sticky & runny – Years of product until new formula. Traveling in Chile I bought this. Salesperson said it was new & also less expensive. Nasty sticky feel doesn’t absorb. I gave the entire jar a try - never again. I just hope my “old” standby is not abandoned by the company Show details

Ruined a great product – I have atopic eczema and have used Cetaphil (moisturizing lotion) for a very long time, with wonderful effect... THEY CHANGED THE INGREDIENTS! NOW, the product stings my skin and has given me a rash. ALSO, the fumes from the lotion stung/burnt my eyes. I have had to apply cortisone ointment to sooth my reactions. Why change an already great product? My guess is money... Disappointed. Show details

Decent moisturiser – This is a good moisturiser. Mine is fragrance free. I like that it is a big 1.25L size too, convenient, good for the environment and economical. If you have very, very dry skin you will probably need something stronger. Show details

The other best skin cream on the market - period – I have had to use creams on any skin exposed to the sun for decades due to a medical condition. Cetaphil Skin Lotion is one of the only 2 really good creams to use on the market (I have tried them all - QV is the other). The Cetaphil is best at times when longer absorption times are OK (overnight, or watching TV).

Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion is now < useless – I’ve used Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion for many years on my very dry skin with good results. It didn’t cause any side effects like many other “moisturisers” do. The last 500g bottle I bought was LOT 332587 exp 06/23. This version works well. It is the only cream I found that I could use from head to toe without any adverse results. I tried to buy… Read more

another bottle of the same but couldn’t get it. I bought the Cetaphil Intensive Moisturising Cream instead with “hydrating glycerin, Vit B3 & pro-vitamin B5”. This is supposedly for Dry to Very Dry Skin. It had the same effect as if I’d rubbed turps into my skin. The skin became dry and cracked. Everything Cetaphil labelled is “dermatologist tested and dermatologist recommended”. It would seem that the “dermatologist” still has a lot to learn about skin because what they’ve dreamed up for dry and very dry skin doesn’t help the problem at all. If Galderma wants to try and recover its reputation it should go back to a basic formula that actually works instead of marketing something with a lot of flowery words that mean nothing. The Cetaphil Intensive Moisturising Cream is a very disappointing product to say the least.

Awful – Used on my face after experiencing dry skin, big mistake! I’m now red and burnt 4 days later. I don’t have sensitive skin and have never experienced such a reaction from any other moisturisers that I have used historically. Will stick to natural ingredients from now on. Show details

Awful!! DO NOT BUY! No longer sensitive skin friendly! – Long time cetaphil household.. until now! New and improved formula is absolutely awful and should come with a warning that it is no longer safe for sensitive skin. Woeful new formula!! Do not use!! – Horrific product after change of formulation. New and "improved" formula is inferior to the original product in every conceivable way. It stinks to high heaven. I cannot get the foul smell out of my nostrils. I've been smelling it for days after using it jusy once. The "new and improved" woke and environmentally sustainable formula burns the face.… Read more

Literally the opposite to what moisturizer is supposed to do. People with dermatitis and eczema are going to need serious therapies after using this. Old formula was Heaven, new formula is hell. DO NOT PURCHASE.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion- Horrible "New" and definitely NOT "Improved" - Burns face!! – I used the "new and improved" Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion and broke out in a horrible rash! Allergic reaction – This cream is horrible. It started off feeling nice the first two times I applied it, it looked as though it was moisturising my skin nicely. A day after, I wake up to an allergic reaction on my face - puffy under eyes, redness all over and lumps on my skin. The night before, there was some itchiness but I didn’t think much of it. To get rid of… Read more

the itchiness I washed my face with their exfoliating cleanser for the first time thinking it would help. After washing my face I applied the moisturiser and went to bed and woke up to an allergic reaction. Do not use this on your face if you have sensitive skin. I don’t know about other skin types but DO NOT use this on your face if you have sensitive skin. A girl in the reviews below also mentioned that her skin flared up when using it on her legs too. So I just think that if you have the slightest adverse reaction to the product, you should DISCARD IT. In comparison, Cerave is a better alternative. I didn’t have any adverse reaction to cerave and I have very dry, sensitive skin + eczema. Cerave moisturises the skin for longer and actually lasts for 24 hours. You can feel the cream wash off as you wash your face the next morning. However there is no greasy feeling and the cream is thick but doesn’t feel like your wearing anything.

Causes awful breakouts. Avoid at all costs!!!! – This product is horrific and I wish I hadn’t bought such a big bottle. Gave it a go as I thought I’d pair my Cetaphil face cleanser with the cetaphil moisturiser. TERRIBLE MISTAKE. This product has ruined my face and caused me to break out horribly. My face is covered in big, deep and blind pimples and the worst part is the scarring. I would give a zero star rating if I could. Show details

Caused acne and a severe allergic reaction! – My dermatologist recommended I use cetaphil moisturiser whilst treating my acne with a cleanser and medication. It made it worse! It doesn’t sink into the skin well and leaves a wet residue. I trusted the doctor and used it for 12 months regardless and assumed the acne was from the face wash I was using- boy was I wrong! using the moisturiser on my face my acne almost immediately cleared up.

Since then I’ve had the moisturiser in my cupboard and decided to use it on my legs since they were feeling dry.

2-3 minutes after applying it to my legs they felt so itchy and as though they were on fire! I ran to the shower to wash it off and was left covered in red welts all over my legs! It’s itchy and painful!

I’m writing this review only an hour after after the incident and the welts have still not gone down.

I’ve been using this on my face for so long and in hindsight it did make my jawline itchy but it never did this!

I’m throwing this in the garbage and will never recommend it to anyone again.

I understand every skin type is unique and this product could work for some but if you have dry/sensitive or acne prone skin....don’t bother!

Cetaphill – Definitely it’s changed the ingredients as I’ve used cetaphill blue lid for many years and it was great and now green lid has different ingredients and it doesn’t moisturise my skin it’s thin and sits on top and feels dry and also made my face broke out so I won’t be using it either anymore. They did the same thing when they changed package on their sun screen and I had to stop using it too Show details

Cetaphil lotion is not that good anymore – I've used Cetaphil lotion and cream for years and always was satisfied with the products. In fact they were some of the best fragrance free gentle products on the market for dry sensitive skin. Recently I've bought a new bottle of lotion with green lid with avocado oil in it. The consistency of the product is very water like thin. It is not very… Read more

pleasant to use anymore. It feels like you are smearing your face with water and it doesn't absorb into your skin like old formular did. You need to let it sit on you face a while before it absorbs. I still find it moisturising though just not very pleasant to use. It is still fragrance free. It broke me out after couple of uses. Wish they notified their customers about the change. Hate it when the trusted companies change their ingredients and destroy the products that worked so well due to them saving money.

Terrible – Cetaphil has changed there ingredients and not for the better. They have stopped using Macadamia oil and replaced it with Avocado oil. Not as good as it was – I have been using Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion for many years on my body and face. It was the one brand I thought I could count on. But when the packaging changed, so did the lotion. It is really thin and runny now and not very moisturising. Big disappointment but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try the cream instead. Fingers crossed that hasn’t changed too. I will keep you posted.

Perfect for combination skin – My skin is kinda combination sometimes acne prone sometimes dry sometimes oily... After moving to the cold climate the only moisturiser I tried and only that I will... cream was rich and creamy so I thought I would get acne out of it but I have not... I would definitely suggest this for combination skin

Change of Lid - Change of Cream – I found the blue lidded cream was brilliant and swore by it, but when trying to find a replacement, I can only find the green lidded cream which is a lot thinner and nowhere near as good. Sadly will have to look elsewhere for a cream as good as the original blue lidded one. I don't believe nothing has changed other than the lids - just need to look at the consistency of the cream.

It's ok but needs to applied frequently – I first used the cetaphil baby lotion on my son when he was a newborn & it was fantastic but the consistency of the lotion is constantly changing - sometimes it's quite thick others it's extremely runny. Overall I think it's way over priced for it's quality & rather buy aveeno baby lotion which is amazing & cost the same amount of money but I don't need to apply it every half n hour...

Use it everyday! – I started using this product 4 months ago when I moved to an area with a dry climate and am hooked! I use it every day, applying it over my whole body (excluding my face) and it keeps my skin so soft! It's not greasy and rubs in well and I love that it has no scent. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an everyday mousturiser as it works a treat and is inexpensive.

Galderma suggest nothing has changed – HI Fellow reviewers I agree. The blue lidded Cetaphen cream was far more moisturising and was sadly dissapointed with the green lid. The company suggest that NOTHING has changed in their cream and that the lids are now green for easier identification - green moisturisers - blue cleansers. Hmmmm
