Changhong 400L Top Mount

Still working after more than 10 years! We placed the **Changhong FTM419A01W** outdoors on the deck, and despite the exposure to varying weather conditions, it has continued to run reliably. Only recently, it started leaking water , but considering its age, it had a good run.

confused by the info as the answer from [name removed] does not respond specifically to my questions based on the elimination of fault: 1) The Evaporator Fan is found to be working fine. 2) The fault therefore likes with the Defrost Elements or the Thermostat. My questions are: 1) Which of the two items in (2) above suits my purpose for rectifying the Warm Fridge. 2) If your answer is one item, which is the Defrost Elements spare parts which I could purchase from you. 3) If your answer is the other item, will the Defrost Termination Thermostat alone do the job? 4) If your answer is yes to Question 3 above, could I install the Defrost Termination Thermostat myself without having to solder it or is it just attachable and detachable? 5) If your answer is No to Question 3 above, could I purchase the Defrost Heater alone and attach it myself without having to solder it? 6) If you answers mean that I need to purchase the two items together, could I attach and detach them myself? 7) The Fridge Technician in this case does not want to do the job because he wants a call out fee of $110.00 without giving me a quote. 8) He will only give me a quote after I have paid him an investigation fee of $75.00. 9) After I have paid both the call out fee and the investigation fee, it is likely that he would quote me a price of $400.00 which I would refuse as it is better for me to get a new fridge.

Horrid little beast – Freezer works well but the fridge doesn't get cold fitted a new thermostat about 3 months after purchase still no better we keep beer in there if we want a coldie after work we have to take the cans out of the fridge and put in the freezer for 30 mins The drain tray keeps filling up with water and needs emptying every 2 weeks rung the technician… Read more

Terrible – Stopped working just after 2 years. And Quoted repair cost is around $500. The fridge itself was only about $650 and no point spending more money on this unreliable brand. Buying a Samsung fridge and decided to stick into known brands from now on. Throwing it away. Never buy this brand.  Show details

Not cooling, Not a good fridge – The Fridge was quiet and was happy when I bought. But after one and half years the fridge is not cooling. Quite noisy – I love this fridge in design but it is quite noisy. I like the glass shelving and spaciousness of its interior. It hasn't gone all frosty in freezer yet and I've had it for about 4 years, so that's good. Can be a lil costly with power but if you keep it full its not too bad. Amazing ..even after months of use! – This fridge is working as a fridge should! I have had no trouble with it, and has maintained consistently from day one. The fridge is quiet, you wouldn't know it was in the home, not like the last ghastly fridge I had that used to wake me up at night. Slightly ugly, but the quietest and most reliable fridge I have ever had – Purchased in 2015, and have been extremely happy with it. Really quiet, does not make too much noise, keeps everything cold, freezes well. It does not have fancy shelving like major brand name fridges but at $300 less I really couldn't care. The only issue is the plastic handle which looks a bit dated but none the less is functional. 2.5 Star energy rating is nothing special either but definitely works for me.

A good quality fridge at the right price – A good quality fridge at an affordable price. Thats what was needed wirh a low income. Thankfully it has done us well and is still going strong a yesr in. Plenty of space inside and designed to allow good deep shelf space but without taking away from the crisper area. Freezer space is really good too.  Show details

Good price and no issue – We bought this fridge in Jan 2017 when our old one broken. It was on a special price. It looks nice, big room, easy to transport and move. It works very well and there is no any issue so far from January. Also it is quite and easy to clean inside.  Show details

Pleased with Purchase – I'm an early adaptor and don't have an issue with buying no name brand or brands that are early into the market. the inside cold it's not a great ask anymore, so it does all of that perfectly there a couple of things that I think you need to be aware of in this market. The bottom crisper drawer has the insert handle so so low you have to squat to open the crisper properly otherwise the shelf above it lifts up; I've got used to it now but it really annoyed me to begin with. The other aspect which is more annoying is that the door shelves are quite low and when you open the door top heavy tall bottles fall out. I've solved it by being careful about what i put into a door shell and I've bought a couple shelf inserts from Big W. Would I recommend it yes the option to have either door opening is great its spacious simply set out I don't like appliance manufacturers dictating where I keep things so very happy except for those 2 minor issues but then it was $200 cheaper.

Second fridge stopped now same problem – We bought this changing fridge freezer in 2011 then just before Xmas 2012 the fridge stopped working. It was fully replaced with no issue by Chang Hong. even get parts under warranty. Just be honest if the fridge will only last 1-2 years say so. I am paying the extra and going back to known brands

Excellent Working Fridge – I have renovated an old house and put one in my kitchen. I have had a good experience with a Changhong 285L in the past and it served me well but I needed to upgrade to a larger fridge. This one is doing just the same, I have had it for two months and it doesn't make much noise, it keeps temperature well and isn't expensive either. Not too bad for a no name brand.

not good in any way – February was the first mistake - I got a changhong , nothing but noise and loud bangs in the middle of the night . fridge was replaced eventually with another clanger , it is now December and will be forced to go to the ACCC to enforce consumer laws . Who needs to have to go through all this . I would never run the risk with buying any of their products , toooo cheap for a good reason

Value for money! – Was sceptical about this brand but Chris from Buy Smarte assured me I could have my money back if I didn't like it. It was a offer I couldn't refuse and so went ahead. I must say it runs quietly and has ample room for the 4 of us. They give you a 10 year warranty on the motor which is something only brand like Samsung and LG offer. Besides everything's made in China these days anyway..lol! Price, 10 year warranty
