made a complaint, as this was time out of my day and all they said was "sorry, you'll have to rebook". Rebooked, received multiple emails and texts messages confirming appointment, which makes me think that they were never going to show up to the first appointment, no matter when I had it booked for. Had to take yet another day off to be at home for this appointment. Technician actually showed this time, was here for less than 5 minutes, changed the batteries in smoke alarms and left. Emails made it seem these were important tests on smoke alarms and all it was, was a battery change. If this took such a small amount of time, I do not know why they couldn't have done this on the original booking date. This company either needs to hire more technicians, have a better booking system or map out their technicians appointments in closer areas.

Really happy with the service today. The electrician was very professional, positive, and incredibly efficient — he checked everything quickly. The first appointment the inspector sent a txt to say he wasn't coming when he should have been here. I was p*ssed off with that I waited all day for him. I took a day off work without pay that cost me.

Lastly, I would expect better basic etiquette from the team. If shoes are left outside at the door, it’s a clear indication that footwear should be removed before entering. This is especially important as there are children in the house who crawl and move around on the floor, making hygiene a serious concern.

Overall, there is significant room for improvement in communication, efficiency, and professionalism.

Check Hero replaced a smoke detector in my investment property in April this year, organised through my property manager. It has only been seven months and the alarm has already failing again. This is very disappointing, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this service.

I've had 2 excellent ChechHero tradies come out to inspect my gas and 3 smoke alarms on the 13/04/26. They were friendly and acknowledgable and explained a few safety issues. They arrived at the required tracking time. Chang, the electrian, found a non compliant electrical issue that needs attention. I'm very happy he noticed it and will forward a report to my real estate for the owner to look at.

The guys that came were very polite and explained everything they were checking. They were also were very professional and put me at ease telling me exactly what he needed to do.

They seem to be the cheapest in the business for smoke alarm inspections ($86.90 inc. GST). The ability to track when the technician will arrive was helpful, the guy was friendly (although didn't give a name), and was really quick at his job

The two men who came to check electric and gas were quick, efficient, kind, and very good at what they did. They arrived early in my time slot so I didn’t have to wait all day, and stayed in contact to let me know when they were coming prior.

I'd never heard of CheckHero until our real estate agent organised for the gas and electricity checks. Have to say very easy to deal with. After the inspection one of our power points wasn't working and a tradie was organised and power point was fixed within a couple of days. Communication was great and overall a very satisfactory service.

I've had dealings with a few rental security check companies before and check hero was by far one of the easiest to deal with. From the bookings, the staff were fantastic and very friendly. They called prior to the date to confirm and then I was kept up to date with live updates of when to expect the trades. Once trades arrived, they were friendly, professional and very knowledgeable.
