Our policy was a non event. We lodged our claim in April only to be told in June we can’t claim should have known better after reading reviews. Never again.

CHI insurance refuse to give any persons a refund on their insurance. Due to the coronavirus our travel was cancelled and they do not refund at all. So they keep thousands of people’s money for themselves. So disgusting and you would be crazy if anyone ever uses this company. Can’t believe how any company can prey on innocent and vulnerable people.

I purchased this cruise insurance through a travel company before the news of the covid19 hit.
Reading the policy is a "blanket" exclusion on a pandemic, but "certain circumstances" may be taken into account.

CHI just continue to ignore us. Take money can’t provide service. Not our fault. Do the right thing.

What ever you do, do not even consider travel insurance with this fraudulent company. They don't pull through with anything. I was unable to travel due to my father being sick with stage 4 cancer, I provided every document you can think of, from scans to hospital letters and doctor reports.... And we made sure that the claim complies with the product disclosure statement as well as the terms and conditions to making a claim. We spent hours and hours gathering documents together in such a stressful time and they the just kept passing us on to someone else. Never ever use this company.
I would give a 0 star rating but unfortunately 1 star is the minimum on google. Stay away!!!!

I took insurance for a cruise and through the night prior to the cruise I came down with an awful stomach virus (sparing the details here). The cruise line will not allow anyone on the ship who has had this virus or has it (and a disclaimer must be signed before boarding). Lost some very valuable possessions e.g laptop. I would stay away from CHI Travel Insurance. They do not cover anything lost or left behind. They have disclosures for everything to cover themselves. Make sure you read all the small print. Their reason was because I left my luggage at the hotel which is classified as a 'public' place hence they did not want to cover me!!! Do yourself a favour and choose another company for travel insurance.

Worst company I've ever dealt with. Liars and thief. Paid $450 for my travel policy and they refuse to return my ticket. They tell you something and then when you need to take up a claim, they start making up excuses and tell you it's not covered. Basically nothing is covered under their top cover. Never will I ever book with them again. They wasted my time, my energy and efforts, not to mention made me lose $4000 because of their crap claims.

Never book with CHI travel insurance. Tried to make a claim and they never take forever and are really vague about what they are saying, hoping you will just give up trying to claim. So much for processed in 10 days, more like 2 months!

they are happy to take your money but try everything to get out of totally legitimate claim husband taken by hospital night b4 flight missed 5 days due to illness. and not being released from hospital. wanted extra paper work despite supplying all medical records. supplied that and they lost it, fortunately had copies of everything. they claim 10 days to do claims ?? ??? received weird letter form them about claim for amount under excess. Of course you expect that insurance companies will do their best to dodge claims. They tend to rely on the fine print clauses in the policy that you probably didn’t read - and certainly aren’t bothered about when you are in the middle of a health crisis. Avoid CHI Travel Insurance at all cost. Does not cover for lost items whilst travelling. Surely this is one of the main reasons for travel insurance, but no, they have a disclosure in the small print that allows them not to cover lost items. You must read the small print!!!!!

Went to china on a business trip. the taxi driver drove off with my bag, half my iphone, laptop, basically everything. this insurance company wouldnt accept the claim, because it was in transit they claim ??!!
what the point of having insurance then ??? mind you, I had all the police report and receipts for everything.
