The door won’t self close as our previous F & P fridge did. This is particularly annoying as the left hand hinge models doesn’t come with a surface mounted handle as per the model right hand hinged door models do. This makes it difficult to keep the stainless steel door surface free from finger marks.

Very happy with this 18 months in… so much better than the kelvinator we inherited. Quiet, efficient and effective.
Purchased in June 2020.
Noisy, poorly designed, prone to failure.
Had this fridge for 11 months and from day 1 it has been noisy. Service techs have investigated and brushed it off as the way modern fridges are designed with smaller high speed compressors that cycle on and off more frequently. Consequently, we hear it humming over the top of the tv, and when sleeping in our upstairs bedrooms we can still hear it humming all through the night.
The no-spill glass shelves further contribute to the problem because if you have a glass jar on a glass shelf in a vibrating fridge, you get further noise with the glas...
Read mores-on-glass clackety vibration. In this regards, plastic coated wire shelves are a better solution for dampening vibrations - honestly "spill-proof" is solving a problem that rarely occurs. Now, we are encountering the constant-beeping error, which google searches expose as a common problem with these F&P fridges and failure in the defrost systems - usually due to broken fans in the cold-air distribution system. Given the number of online complaints over recent years, you would think they would have changed their design. So now we are waiting on another service call. As far as design goes, the door does not come with an egg-tray, and the extra dollars you fork out for an egg-tray won't hold a dozen eggs ... you know, the global standard in egg containers? Would not buy another Fisher & Paykel again.Purchased in August 2020.

Great performing fridge, apart from the occasional soft humming noise and creak.
Performance
The fridge maintains a consistent temperature and which can be easily adjusted using the touch side panel on the inside of the fridge. The temperature of the upper compartment (fridge) and lower compartment (freezer) can be individually adjusted. There are also 'Fast Freeze' and 'Bottle Chill' functions which can be activated on the inside of the fridge to quickly freeze items and quickly chill bottles in the fridge compartment. The latter function is a time saver for those last minute gatherings.
There are also two plastic tubs i...
Read moren the fridge compartment (one small and one large) for storing fruit and vegetables. For each compartment, there is a toggle which can be adjusted to fruit or vegetable which is adaptable and flexible depending on what groceries you have bought. I have bought salad lettuce from the supermarket and have managed to keep it in great condition for over a week by placing it in the vegetable compartment. Design In addition, the bottle holder compartments on the side of the fridge are adjustable, meaning that they can be moved up and down to accommodate different sized bottles such as wine bottles. These bottle holder compartments are strong as the salesperson at the store I bought my fridge from removed one of the compartments, placed it upside down and stood on it and the compartment did not crack or break.Purchased in September 2019 at Bing Lee Physical store for $1,380.

Had a very similar size from Electrolux which lasted a long time. But to be honest I truly love the look of this unit. The freezer layout is very easy to use and much more practical than my previous fridge - Easy to see everything and plenty of room. The fridge section is roomy and easy to reach all that it contains

The fridge itself is ok. Does what it's meant to do however that stupid plastic crisper cover is THE WORST design ever. For the money paid, why would someone think it's ok to have 2 little plastic clips in place to hold up yet another and slightly heavier piece of plastic up. This gives me endless anxiety when it falls not place...I think I've sworn each time it falls down. Please rethink future designs as I bought the fridge based on reputation on good quality and this feature is most definitely not any good.

Horrendous Build Quality and Horrible Customer Service.
Our family have been loyal customers of Fisher and Paykel for two decades, and had previously enjoyed stylish and reliable products, with great after sales support. Those attributes are now relegated to history and Fisher and Paykel has become a brand we will avoid.
The tipping point was last week, when we bought a brand new Fisher and Paykel fridge and freezer.
It was faulty from day one. Kept icing over and issue became worse by the day. The motor was running continuously trying to keep freezer cold. Water started pooling on the floor, pre...
Read moresenting a slipping hazard in our kitchen. A week after we purchased the product, we tried to contact Fisher and Paykel. It was impossible to get through to customer service, and when we eventually did, we were transferred around with no continuity or resolution. Eventually we gave up, and contacted the retailer and arranged for a full refund and return as the product was defective, and under Australian Consumer Law was deemed 'not fit for purpose' and therefore we were entitled to a full refund. Sadly, Fisher and Paykel have become a cheap and nasty brand, one that we will avoid.Purchased in March 2021 at The Good Guys for $1,679.

The freezer is full of frost and ice builds up
Our old F&P fridge lasted a fair number of years, after some small warranty repair, and we got used to the layout so the new one had to be F&P again. Similar experience to the last purchase, a brand new fridge has issues. This time it's an ice builds up inside the freezer, which gets open once a day, with room temperature around 20-25 degrees and low Canberra humidity. Obviously, the door seal is faulty on the two weeks old fridge. I think that's the last product we bought of this brand, Fisher & Paykel.

I don't know if we just got a dud or what, but we have had this fridge for just over 2 years and its really just not good, was never great but has gotten significantly worse over the last 8 or so months and is now out of warranty.
The first issue we had was is if you place food in the wrong area of the fridge, expect it to be frozen. I've had countless things on various shelves come out with ice shards, even on the default temperature setting or warmer.
Then, within the first 18 months, the spring-type element that bounces the fridge door b...
Read moreack to help the sensor alert you to the door being left open snapped clean off. In fact, it snapped off so cleanly and out of no where, it took me nearly 2 weeks to figure out what the piece that shot across the kitchen even did. In November (about 6 months after the last issue) the top freezer drawer slider has popped out and I think its snapped. If you open the freezer now, the drawer slides itself out and the only way to close the freezer is to hold the drawer shut and use the door itself to keep it in place. If I remove the drawer itself and view the slider, the arm swings freely behind the shelf itself. You can put it back and as soon as you slide the drawer out it pops back out again. The fridge can also be excessively loud of a night, sounds like something rattling and there's nothing we can do to fix it - believe me, I've tried finding it. Was the first Fisher & Paykel product I've had in a long time and I can confidently say it will be the last.Purchased in September 2018 at Harvey Norman.

Great looks and layout, Poor build quality
Nice flat finish and the hidden door handles. Interior plastic and plastic door shelves are of good flexible plastic and not brittle that tend to crack. Layout is excellent and very roomy. Led light is nice and bright. Well priced. A temp reading would be a nice addition.
What you might not like...
The stainless steel finish looks great but needs lots of up keep with constant wiping of finger marks around and near handles. Any dings stands out unlike a white door.

12 months on I still love my F/P fridge/freezer
It is super quiet, easy to clean.
Plenty of door compartments. Love drawers in freezer so easy to sort things
Door alarm is handy
Temp consistent though can slightly freeze products at the back of fridge
Keeps fruit and veg fresh for longer
Just love my fridge It works as hard as I do in the kitchen. I'm so glad it performs well and looks great too

Noisy rattler from Haier. Not the F&P quality of old. Lots of Quality issues
Well below standard of it's usual competitors.
Poor Construction/Quality control and has needed Tech attendances twice already since buying new from Harvey Norman (June 2020)
It looks good & works OK, but lots of underlying issues.
Discard memories of the Quality F&P brand.
We purchased b/c of our space limitations.
Expensive for product brand that's dropping towards bottom of the heap.. (built in Thailand unlike our prior F&P fridge/freezer it lasted 20+Yrs) Declined even further compared to even 5 years ago. Our initial Installer notted So...

Worst fridge. Didn’t last more than 3.5 years
Ongoing problems with this fridge from the beginning. Loud noises and had it serviced 3 times and eventually died last week of only have it for 3.5 years and was told to fork out $500 for parts and no guarantee it will fix the problem.
Will never purchase a F&P fridge again.

My best friend
I love this fridge/freezer. It is energy efficient, quiet and keeps everything at a great temp, especially with the control drawers in the crispers. The lighting is so bright making it easy to see what you have. So easy to use the freezer with the easy glide out drawers. It even has a thin draw to store pastry sheets or pizzas. Great buy.

Good fridge but faulty when left factory
I purchased this fridge 2 1/2 years ago , unpacked and installed by Good Guys and never moved by me since. I recently discovered a sizeable gap in top door when cleaning which FP technician said must have left factory like that. After adjustment to close gap requiring considerable brute force by FP I can notice a much heavier pull required to open the door now. So how much extra electricity was wasted before restoring the door to how it should have been in the first place? Not happy to pay $170 for shoddy assembly.

Does it have egg holders?
HI Wayne. I don't think it did but if so I would have put them out. I prefer to get my eggs fresh that have not been in the fridge and then they can stay on the bench or in my cupboard. of course onc...
Read moree they have been refrigerated then you need to place them in the fridge but with so many compartments and shelf adjustments then I would use an egg carton or an egg holder from the market . Hope this helps. CheersAll my appliances are fisher and paykel so buying a new fridge of the same brand was a no brainer, however, the so called active smart fridge is anything but! Items freeze in the centre top shelf, and if you lower the temperature, the items in the door are warm. Very disappointing fridge.
