Disgraceful conduct. Citibank replaced my previous Signature card, with a Premier card on the basis that they would keep the fees the same. They did not keep the agreement and just doubled my annual fee, despite being a customer for 24 years and a shareholder in NAB who operates Citibank card. After the royal commission into banking, you would… Read more

think they would honor agreements with their customers. No. too greedy, in relentless pursuit of profits. I have been a long term shareholder in NAB. I will be bringing this up at the NAB AGM in December to highlight the lack of ethics of this subsidiary and lack of learnings from the Royal commission into the banking sector!!!

Citibank - Dreadful, Worst Ever Experience – Worst banking experience encountered with CitiBank. So bad in fact that we have cancelled the card on our return from overseas. We raised numerous complaints, whereby they just respond justifying their actions. Do yourself a favour and stay away from this unprofessional organisation who are difficult to deal with, do not understand the CUSTOMER,… Read more

do not listen to the CUSTOMER, and do exactly the opposite of what they advise you on the phone.

We were travelling overseas at the time and raised a dispute over a transaction. They cancelled my credit card because they could not contact me whilst we were on a cruise, We were advised my card would not be cancelled, as I advised them we had all our bookings for the next four weeks associated to my credit card. Because they could not reach me for that 24 hour period they cancelled my card. This left me very vulnerable, overseas with no other credit card and my mobile phone carrier threatening to cancel my phone service because my payment did not go through linked to the credit card.

We received numerous emails whilst still at sea which came through okay, and a lettersent to my home address telling me that the disputed transaction was not a disputed transaction because it was paid with Apple Pay. Based on this, why did they cancel my credit card? They put me under immense stress and pressure, they don’t give a damn, quoting “ we are acting on the interest of our customer’, what a joke!. We voted with our feet immediately upon arriving home.

Now I understand why there are so many bad reviews, they are an unprofessional organisation, never again.

Great card, if you want to wait 5 months for your “reward” – Signed up for the Citi rewards credit card with there “sign up deal” if you spend $5k within 90 days you get 80,000 velocity points. Great, spent the $5k…. No velocity points??? So ring them and waste my time on there online portal, atrocious connection to whatever country they’re providing “customer service”, so bad in fact it dropped out and had… Read more

to call back! The. I was advised yes you spent it in January so from the end of the month (four weeks away) you then have to wait 8 weeks for a confirmation email before then waiting another 10 weeks before they’re credited to your account. So if you don’t mind waiting 6 MONTHS! You can have your points… Is there customer service that bad? Well it must be…. Surely they’re not doing anything dodgy! What a joke- the worst ever - avoid.

Worse Experience & Customer Service Possible – Awful online banking interface which looks like it hasn't been updated since the internet was invented, and sometimes doesn't even work. Annoying customer service who struggle with English and call to pester you about some new useless deal every couple of weeks. Don't get this card. I'm switching immediately. Any other bank is better than this garbage experience. Show details

Look elsewhere – I'm a little peeved...exactly $180 worth. My Citibank Visa credit card (which I've held for over 25 years), had recently undergone a change, swapping to Mastercard, and selling out to NAB. No problem, one bank is the same as another, right? ..Well no. T&Cs had changed at some point. So my story is simple. I have a subscription to a news service.… Read more

This service has an auto-renew feature, meaning they will bill me when the subscription falls due. I decided NOT to renew, however, my credit card on their file, had expired and was no longer valid. I have a new card, new numbers, and new expiry date, yet was surprised when I checked my statement and found this renewal fee in the "pending" column, and my balance was showing this as a debit. I called Citibank, and was assured that the payment would NOT go through, as the card had expired. Fast forward a week later, and the charge had in fact been paid to the news service. The bank, Citibank, explained that the expired card was related to my existing valid account and that when agreeing to an auto-renewal subscription service, the biller, has the right to charge a related account. I think this sort of deal, with subscription-based businesses, is ethically foul. What do you think? Ok, it's my fault for not reading the T&Cs, and expecting an expired card could not be used. Yes, it's my fault for not cancelling the subscription. I get it. But let's get this into further context. My subscription fell due on 12th Dec 2022, I noted the balance on my card was low on 14th Dec 2022, and contacted Citibank on that day. The charge was listed under the "pending" column. I queried this with the online chat, and had been assured this could not "go through". I then contacted the subscription service to cancel my sub, and request a refund, which they refused. (I will write a review about this mob later).

Your Credit Card application will get rejected even with Excellent Credit Score!! – Applied for this new balance transfer offer 30 month interest free and of course it ended up being marketing stunt and too good to be true! So initial application on line forced me to agree to credit check which now made an imprint on my file. My score dropped by 50 points which I would not have minded if I got what I applied for. After providing… Read more

all info and supplying support documents I was pre approved. Then next day I get generic decline letter .....SORRY changed our mind, we cannot offer you this CC. Many possible reasons were outlined BUT nothing specific. They said call us if you would like to discuss further but how about CITIBANK you call me and have the decency to explain or even resolve what may be a simple issue. How is this possible for a customer with excellent credit score on many different scoring sites? No transparency, poor customer service and only programmes running in the background and generating letters and making decisions, no human logic or assessment applied. Poor on all levels and AGAIN confirms that Citibank is not about customer satisfaction as their repitation declined so much in recent years. It's time we part FOREVER Citibank. Not worth any time and effort.
