Citymove Removals ACT, Kingston

Lots of furnitures are damaged. email to the company and no one replied till now (2 years +) – I used CityMove to move house twice. 1st time is excellent and 2nd time is horrible. arrival time is 8:00am~9:00am, but no one turned up till 9:30am, so I called -- it seems they forgot to assign people for my booking. When the movers came late in the afternoon (after 1pm); they appears very tired, they told me they did 2 jobs already that's why they are exhausted. We were fine with this delay, but they were so careless with our furniture! The most horrible thing was that lots of our furniture was damaged. Including: - Our new Blackwood display cabinet, was scratched and with a hole! - Blackwood dinner table scratched; - TV unit scratched, and a piece of wood in one of the legs was chipped and gone; - Coffee table scratched; - 2 Wooden beds scratched. (I saw they had blankets/clothes in the truck, but they didn’t use them to protect my furniture. Even after I prompted them to be more careful. They still just roughly pushed the furniture into the truck.) I reported this to them on 17th Dec 2020, but no one replied me back.

Terrible! Avoid! – False advertising and services not delivered. I hired City Move based on the information they sent me that they were a professional moving company that is AFRA accredited and plastic wraps all furniture. photo of staff and trucks with their loggos on them. Nothing was plastic wrapped and even the mattress was thrown into the dirty truck without being covered. Several of the furniture items were dented and scratched. Since discovered that City Move is not even AFRA accredited in Canberra. Delivered 2 men and a truck, but charged quadruple the price. Raised complaints but never heard back. Charged my card without calling first as agreed. Absolute rip off.

Move went well. Boys did a good job – Manuel and Renan were brilliant. They did what it says on the truck, moved my stuff with care. They even had plastic wrap to extra protect my king furniture. third time using them - always happy. They aren’t cheap though, but I’d rather a careful move than broken things.  Show details

Canberra - rude, broke my bed, and left a filthy mattress at my old place – I was moving one bedroom in a share-house. The move was only a few suburbs away. The company twice tried to overcharge me, once on the phone at the time of booking, and again once the job was complete. Then when I complained, they promised me a $50 refund, then refused to honour that.

Good service! – I’m very satisfied with Citymove service. I got Manuel and one other staff to help with moving and they did a good job. Removalist review – Moved a three bedroom town house to a three bedroom house, short distance move. They started on time, completed the job as quickly as possible. efficient, experienced, and took great care of my items during the move (especially considering they had to load the truck in a downpour of rain!). I have already booked in Citymove for my partner's upcoming move next weekend and will definitely use them again in the future. Terrible value for money and damaged furniture and walls – I booked '2 men and a truck' to move my apartment. When the removalists turned up, there was one man and one young kid (can't have been over 16) who struggled to move my items of furniture. apartment to the truck, even though they used the lift!). My glass dining table top was dropped and the corner badly smashed because the younger removalist could not hold the weight of it. My partner had to step in and replace the younger removalist when we got to the second location because of the younger removalist's inability to lift items. Despite this, they charged us the full rate - over $600 (a lot considering the move was only 2 suburbs away). In addition, they dropped my bed base and took a large chunk of plaster out of the wall.

Citymove paid for us to have the wall fixed, but they offered us only half the value of my dining table, which was in 100% perfect condition before they got their hands on it. They also refused to replace the glass top.

Completely unhappy with the service I received, the handling of the damage caused and I would not recommend them. Terrible value for money.

awkward steps and landing. My booking was for 7.30am but they called in advance and were 30mins early which was wonderful. They loaded and unloaded the truck quickly and all my items arrived in the same condition as when they left. Fast, reliable, reasonable priced

arrived. It took 5 blokes (plus myself and a mate helping with moving some stuff in to the driveway) with two vehicles 3 hours (13:0016:00) and cost $815.00. I did not take the insurance and luckily nothing was broken. Reliable.

Very happy – Extremely happy with the service provided by citymove Canberra. Two guys and a van showed up on time and no time was wasted.
