Citymove Removals

Lots of furnitures are damaged. email to the company and no one replied till now (2 years +) – I used CityMove to move house twice. 1st time is excellent and 2nd time is horrible. arrival time is 8:00am~9:00am, but no one turned up till 9:30am, so I called -- it seems they forgot to assign people for my booking. When the movers came late in the afternoon (after 1pm); they appears very tired, they told me they did 2 jobs already that's why they are exhausted. We were fine with this delay, but they were so careless with our furniture! The most horrible thing was that lots of our furniture was damaged. Including: - Our new Blackwood display cabinet, was scratched and with a hole! - Blackwood dinner table scratched; - TV unit scratched, and a piece of wood in one of the legs was chipped and gone; - Coffee table scratched; - 2 Wooden beds scratched. (I saw they had blankets/clothes in the truck, but they didn’t use them to protect my furniture. Even after I prompted them to be more careful. They still just roughly pushed the furniture into the truck.) I reported this to them on 17th Dec 2020, but no one replied me back.

never complained, not even when moving my back-breaking pinball machine. Their encouraging comments throughout the move kept my spirits up, which is a godsend for anyone who is moving.

Great work – 3 bed apartment to a 3 bed split level apartment. On time and had to use lifts in both buildings. Caio and Juan where great , friendly and efficient with the move.

removalists to do. The security officers, in the apartment block we moved out of, even themselves said they hadn’t seen such inexperienced and exhausted removalists before. And by evening, they had to take several gos to get a sofa up the 2 flights of stairs due to complete lack of any strength. The fridge took 20-30 minutes minimum to take up the stairs. As this was charged per minute, we had a pretty hefty bill at the end.

Scamers, Liars, you will be sorry of you use Citymove, listen to the bad reviews, they are accurate – ! bedroom being moved from Sydney to Melbourne. Do not use! You’ll regret it – THESE PEOPLE ARE CON ARTISTS AND CHEATS - DO NOT USE. needing to do a 2nd trip. Numerous pieces of furniture was scratched and damaged. Furniture assembled by the guys fell apart. They attempted to overcharge me by $10 per hour at the end of the day. When I queried it, the removalist phoned his office who then processed the payment in full without my consent or even notifying me of the amount that was being processed. And to add insult to injury I was charged a surcharge for using my card even though I had cash on hand and wasn’t given the opportunity to make the payment. It was simply stolen from my bank account. Despite all this, all I had asked for was a refund on the credit card surcharge as it was a complete injustice given the circumstances. They refused to refund the surcharge unless I signed a document declaring my happiness with the service. Outrageous. Complete lack of professionalism. Overall a bad decision to use their services.

Think twice – I booked a straightforward local move in Melbourne. The removalists showed up 5 hours after the allocated arrival window I was given by Citymove. parties and their call centre is based overseas, so it was clear that no one knew what was going on. It was an absolute shambles, and no one at the call centre rang me back when they said they would.

Update: Citymove responded to my email after I posted this review, and we have come to a resolution. I hope they can use this experience to improve their service.

Terrible! Avoid! – False advertising and services not delivered. I hired City Move based on the information they sent me that they were a professional moving company that is AFRA accredited and plastic wraps all furniture. photo of staff and trucks with their loggos on them. Nothing was plastic wrapped and even the mattress was thrown into the dirty truck without being covered. Several of the furniture items were dented and scratched. Since discovered that City Move is not even AFRA accredited in Canberra. Delivered 2 men and a truck, but charged quadruple the price. Raised complaints but never heard back. Charged my card without calling first as agreed. Absolute rip off.

moved at a snail's pace, used the lift to raise one bag into the back of the truck at a time. I received a small concession on the hourly rate but had to pay Airtasker people and organise friends to come and complete the move in twice the quoted time. On top of that, they broke a number of pieces of furniture and then hid them under boxes so I wouldn't find out until I was unpacking. Very slow response from corporate which ended up with "We will ensure they get training on how to do their job better". What a joke! It looks like their CityMove website has been taken down, but All About Relocations is still up and operating. I hope that they have closed up shop. As their service was just appalling!! What a waste of a good move – After completing a big move, the company blew any advocacy they had with me after failing to resolve a double billing of the job. I get it, sometimes you make a mistake, but after weeks of contacting the company (including the CEO), I received no emails or calls offering a solution to the matter. It feels like they just don’t care at all, so my recommendation is to find someone else who will care.

The "professional" removalists are backpackers, one barely able to speak English. Save yourself the pain and find another company.

Percy and his team were amazing – My lovely Citymove team moved my mum and I to a three bedroom unit in the Inner West of Sydney. Luckily, the move was not far, but still daunting for my elderly mum. Personable, Careful and Hard Working – 4 tonne truck packed to the brim. The guys did an amazing job! Didn’t give up to get the furniture out with the extremely tight squeeze and was extra careful not to damage the property. Couldn’t have been any better! – Sebastian and Diego were lovely, careful and professional and deserve a bonus for the effort they put in today. You wouldn't have a business without these boys; two best movers we've ever had. Be warned – 2 Bedroom move but with 3 pick up locations. City move was recommended by a friend. But it's not the removalists I am warning you about it's the customer care. Called the head office and he says they ran out from the morning job 'but thinking of the dear customer we came to your job instead of getting a new supply'. But they had blankets which are 'not that dirty.' I explained to them it was not about the dirt but hygiene. Bed bugs rats who knows what has been on that blanket. During a subsequent call about another issue (see below) I mention this issue as it hadn't been resolved. Now they tell me my husband had permitted them to load with blankets eventhough they were sourcing the shrink wrapping so not their problem I was told. I ring my husband and he said he wasn't given a choice. It was getting loaded with blankets or not loaded. For my baby's mattress I asked my husband to put it in his car and bring it up. Not risking bed bugs or nasties for a baby.

Then came the issue with our couch. During the initial call I asked them could they ensure or note on the system the removalists had to be those experienced with moving kings furnitures as I had been warned when I had my sofa delivered that not everyone knew how to move kings furniture. He said all fine as they are so experienced so no issues. Today the removalists tells me it's electric sofa so has to be disassembled. I said no. It came in one piece delivered by 2 people. No one is doing that to void my warranty on kings furniture. When I called the head office they tried to blame me for needing an extra person. I informed them I previously specifically asked them whether city move knew how to move kings furniture. Long story short short the customer service was happy to waive the waiting time for a third person to arrive to help with the couch and the fees for the third person. That was a nice touch.

But how did the call end? It didn't end on a positive note. He kept on making excuses re mattress which I didn't want to hear. He said it wasn't his fault I was having issues with city move. Perhaps I was a little harsh as I wasn't happy with the move at all but a move shouldn't be so hard.

So he told me me that he or the complaints team will check the initial calls to see whether I had discussed the shrink wraps and kings furniture in my initial calls. And I said please do so. I'll update the post when the job finishes and will update what I am charged. The pick up was at 1.45 at the third pick up and it's now 5.05.

So if I was to move again which I'll do so I will not use city move as it had been extra stressful in addition to the stress of moving. Next time I'll take recommendations of a local ones or the owner operated and run ones.

safely and efficiently took all of our furniture and crates downstairs. This was a stairs job at the old site so I would like to say also a big THANK YOU to Rodrigo, Thiago, Caio, and Wendel for doing such a great job! Everything was moved to the new site in great time and the boys were very helpful in helping us to place the furniture.

Interstate a no-go – Had used previously for intra-city moves with no problems so thought I would give them a go for an interstate move. citymove regarding timing etc was very painful and limited.

Subbie only arrived at 7pm, causing us to change our travel plans with additional cost. Subbie arrived wearing thongs, didn't have any tools, and immediately started demanding extra money as they argued that the volume was more than they were told (despite not measuring).

On dropoff once again 7pm arrival, manager on phone telling me if I didn't pay an extra 800 immediately then they wouldn't unload the truck. After yelling on the phone for ten minutes they then demanded an additional 150 for stairs (despite my having informed citymove of stairs). No communication from citymove to subbie regarding payments already made. The subbie broke our bed and damaged our staircase.

Move went well. Boys did a good job – Manuel and Renan were brilliant. They did what it says on the truck, moved my stuff with care. The company twice tried to overcharge me, once on the phone at the time of booking, and again once the job was complete. Then when I complained, they promised me a $50 refund, then refused to honour that.
