Air Conditioning Installation from Hell! – If you want installation of air-conditioning in a professional and tradesmanlike manner from a business that stands by its work, then our experience suggests you look elsewhere. When we moved to Narooma we accepted Climate Control’s quote to install ducted aircon for almost $10,000. At their suggestion, we first arranged to have ceiling insulation installed throughout the roof void. When they installed the aircon, they removed tiles from the roof and cut the sarking to get the equipment in and rolled back the ceiling insulation that we had just had installed. Despite their assurances at the time and repeated complaints from us afterwards, they never restored the sarking or the insulation with the result we now have no effective insulation from heat or cold or protection from storm leakage. But, that is not all. After knocking holes in a brick wall to install some vents to the lounge room which has a cathedral ceiling, they left the brick rubble on the ceiling where the aircon ducting was with the result that in due course the ceiling sagged from the rafters, breaking the cornice. Following our complaints they did an inspection and finally agreed to remove the rubble and pay for the replacement of the ceiling, but baulked for some months to pay the painter. Further, after their inspection they conceded that they had installed the wrong vent to allow for air circulation, which caused it to be noisy, and the wrong coloured vents in the lounge room brick wall and the house ceilings, which are white. In addition, while it is a reverse cycle system, it has never worked effectively to heat the house. None of these issues were ever followed up or rectified by them. To say we are disappointed with this business is an understatement.
