I am sorry to say I am back here again with another review ,this time on the cost of postage charged by Coburg Aquariums ,my order was 3lots of 6foot air line ,2 non return valves and 4 small air stones .All up less than a few hundred grams and big enough to be left in a letter box .All arrived ok with a $35 cost on postage. A pair of "crystal eye" balloon Calico mollies were listed for $160 and that's A LOT of money for low quality crystals. I say low quality because most of them didn't have crystal eyes or they only had one eye that were crystal or barely crystal, so I spent quite a while choosing ones that were half decent. were all different, and some weren't even full balloon mollies. Obviously I didn't have to buy them but my plan was to improve the line by breeding them together, and then out breeding the next generation to my own high quality crystal eye mollies. Since both males and females were mixed in the same tank, and some were hard to tell which ones were males and females, I asked a staff member to help me, and I asked SEVERAL TIMES to make sure that they were the opposite s#x, because no one is going to pay $160 for a same s#x pair. Anyway, I get home which is over an hour away, put them in my tank and realise they were both female. Quite frustrating when I got the staff member to make sure. Mistakes happen, but when I contacted Coburg Aquarium with video proof, they expected me to drive all the way there which is over an hour away to exchange one, and then obviously I'd have to drive over an hour away back home. This wasn't my fault! But their argument was, "well you chose the mollies, we saw you on camera" Yes, I chose the mollies! I chose a few pairs to choose from and asked the staff member for guidance to make sure what I was choosing were male and female. I feel it's only fair to get a refund for one of them? And neither mollie is pregnant so I won't have other Calicos. You could argue that yes, I could just breed them to my own mollies but that's not the point, I paid $160 for a pair (male and female). I will say though that the staff member I spoke to was lovely and nice even though he made a mistake.

Also (I know this is a long review) but I wanted to warn people about the quality of the fish too, they're not great, especially for the price. I also noticed that their female betta sororities are in fast flowing water and they really should be in slow moving, at least some of the tank should be slow/still. Poor things. Don't get me started on how they keep their males... But yeah, when you're here really look at how they keep their fish and the quality of them. I'm in the process of getting a refund through my bank because now Coburg Aquarium are ignoring my reply email. They don't care about their customers at all.

Never again. Purchased guppies from here and they all died within days. Very unhelpful. They don't care at the end of the day.. they made money. Stay away from buying fish from here. I don't want you to be disappointed like I am at the moment

Great place for in person sales. Friendly knowledgeable staff. I’ve had no issues with any of the fish purchased over the last 10 years. Recommended.

I have used the Online Service from Coburg Aquarium several times. They have always been accurate, and very fast with courier (door to door) shipping, not sending via AusPost. condition on arrival. Plants tend to be healthy, often bigger than advertised. Overall I have no complaints about them at all.

Great service – Have used Coburg for a number of orders now, over 100 fish. Packing is awesome, have had zero dead loss over 24 months and numerous orders and they are fast! Clueless and shady – Staff are clueless, prices are unjustifiably high compared to other outlets, usually see sick fish in the marine section. I purchased fish in store once and most of them developed columnaris in quarantine and died. Don't bother, in store or online. rate despite the fact none of their staff know how CO2 systems work, I assume they must take it to the local fire safety store as they say it takes "24 hours to chill the gas", yeah right!! Shifty as.

Good experience – Unlike all the other people here, I had quite a good experience with these guys. All fish arrived alive and are still alive except for 1 loach but that could be my water.. Anyway, I'll be back for more with a hopefully good experience Show details

Stay away – I made an online order 2 weeks ago, they haven't sent me my order, I've contacted them 4 times before they responded to say it would be sent out the next day and would be overnight, 5 days later, nothing, I have since sent a further 2 emails regarding me order, I've called, no one answers, I've requested a refund and have told them that if I don't get a response I'll be reporting them to Fair Trade.

Never call the store. Useless! – I contacted the store to ask the price of a product which does not show in their online store. The person on the phone tells me he's just check online. Never going to buy from this store again!

DON'T DO IT! – I placed a large livestock order with these clowns, five days later it hasn't even been sent according to their website. Don't bother trying to call them as you go straight to awful music until a recorded voice gives you two options. Option 1 = Hear the stores trading hours. Option 2 = Speak to someone. ALL! It just keeps repeating until you have tried your options three times then it disconnects you. You can't even leave a message.

So I emailed them which at least woke someone up. They tried calling me a dozen times yesterday but each time they hung up before the answering machine could even pick up. I'm disabled so I can't get to a phone in 3 rings which is all you are worth to them. NEVER NEVER EVER AGAIN!
