I have just again had the misfortune to be on the receiving end of one of your checkout operators, showing a name tag of Clare, at your Aberfoyle Park SA store. While this store has the reputation amongst locals of being the rudest in the group of shops in The Hub I gave it the benefit of the doubt and did my shopping there this morning.
As I am a 75 year old woman recovering from hip surgery and find it very hard to stand, and as there was only one checkout operator underway at 9:30 am, I took my 16 items into the quick items lane as there ...
I went to Coles Hurstville on Nov 18th around 10:30am and noticed the price tag have not been updated. A Coles employee (pic attached) was peeling off the price tags at the freezer section, so I politely asked her whether the Connoisseur ice cream range is half priced as advertised, but she did not even turn her head to look at me nor replied. After I asked for a few times, she rudely replied "Whatever you see in the catalogue is the price. What a dumb crap! So dumb!", all the while without turning her head to me. Note that I am quoting the exa...ct words that she said. This behaviour is totally unacceptable! Especially that this is the second time within a few months that I had such a bad experience from Coles (the one from a few months ago was from Earlwood, where a female staff implied that I stole from the shop without first asked to check my receipt).
A Tale of Coles and The Card Network
Bought 5 X $100 TCN 'HIM' cards from Coles 25/11/20.
Gift Cards scanned as declined but Coles still took the money.
Requested refund - sorry no refund on 3rd party cards call Coles customer (lack of) service.
Message TCN - your receipt is invalid and is Coles problem.
Call CCS - case opened
Worst supermarket ever
Clutter on the floor, blocking aisles. Rude staff from store manager down to the guy with a broom. Nothing I needed I stock and no-one was interested in helping me order items. Coles Hamilton is the reason cars were invented, so I could move to another town.
where is customer experience?
I went to the Coles Hornsby this morning to buy 5 HIM gift cards. When I checked out, the staff said that I remember you, you bought these gift cards this morning and could not buy again. I said no, I did not. But the staff insisted. I told him he can check any camera if I have been here. He then said that OK, I could only sell you 2 cards because I had a limit to sell per day.
Then I asked the store manager. The manager said it's Coles policy. Then what's the point to put gift sale in your catalog? Finally, one of the staffs agreed to procee...d my purchase. I told the manager I was offended at the first place. I was suspected without any proof. Second, your staffed still did not want to sell the gift card to me because of the Coles internal policy(then misleading ads on Coles catalogue?). I wanted answer. But the manager threatened me by saying you could either keep quiet and buy or leave the store. Then I said I would make a call to Coles HQ, the manager said go for it. The above is the full story. I wanted to hear from Coles, 1. Is this the way that Coles to treat your loyal customer? Even after I insisted I did not come this morning and you could check camera? Would it be discrimination? 2. No explanation from the manager. No sorry from manager. Instead, ask the customer to buy or go. Is it how Coles train its manager to solve the problem? And ask customer to talk to HQ if they have problem? 3. If your internal policy such as limitation of selling gift card is different to your catalogue, why does Coles put the offer in the Ads? Would it be misleading/fake Ads? Would be reported to ACCC? Thanks and look forward to hearing from you. Donald
Gotta love Coles machines when there not working lets blame the customer
Even when its asking for a supervisor to reset the machine
Incorrect price when scanning
Have you ever scanned an item and the amount charged is less than the ticket price? I think not. Have you scanned an item on special and be charged the normal ticket price? Multiple times. This happens WAY too often for it to be a mistake. Coles are a bunch of frauds. The item should be given free if it scans at the incorrect price.
iPhone 7 Deal
I have been trying to hunt down a Refurbished iPhone 7, which Coles and Boost Mobile teamed up to offer at $258. Its a $50 saving on the regular price , which sounds better than a %15 discount.
I have visited approximately 30 stores which all had something in common: They had already sold the stock.
On my 1st visit i was told "Come early in the morning as we get new stock each day". the following is a list of the evolving information i have been told along the way.
"No, no , they didn't come in today. Maybe try tomorrow. I'm also trying to...
Coles started selling product named Kefir. This product represents a liquid yogurt that has nothing to do with kefir. Coles is misleading its customers with a name that does not correspond to the actual product. The real kefir is a fermented milk that is produced totally differently and has totally different ingredients.
Bought Pink Lady apples a few days ago @ $6.50/kg. ALL ROTTEN.
Not happy, Jam! Not even suitable for jam! Offered replacement from customer service. More rotten apples? Off to Aldi
Apple Pie Chips - Coles Brand
This chip flavour assaulted my taste buds, and the taste was followed by an even more offensive aftertaste. Coles have truly missed the mark by miles with this flavour. I was so utterly disgusted that I felt it was my duty to make this community announcement to save someone the physical sickness I felt after eating these chips.
Whoever signed this blunder off from the Coles chip board, should resign.

I just bought this roast chicken from southlands boulevard, Willetton Western Australia this morning around 10 am, Monday 16 November 2020
To say I’m disappointed is being too tactful
I was cross enough to send this review to you so that you can understand why
The chicken was very dry, tasteless and even the stuffing was tasteless
I normally buy it from woolworths southlands too but for once I thought I’d give it a try
Appalling service at Coles Muswellbrook
Staff are incredibly rude, and get easily triggered if you stand your ground. Have made several complaints though Coles Online portal to no avail. I don't know a single person who actually enjoys shopping there. A squandered opportunity on their behalf.
Chef inspired chicken & pancetta inspired caborana linguine
1 and 1/4 pieces of small cubed chicken not happy. Waste of money no caborara at all just mush. Was looking forward to this went in the bin
Less than one star .. 'Lobster'
The frozen boxed 'lobster' with garlic butter.. simply is not Lobster/Crayfish.
It is fresh water crawlies maybe kept in orange water. $ 108.70 per kilo. $28 per box.. don't waste your time or money!!
Due to my time & health Disability illnesse, as i was Disrespected at Coles SYLVANIA, NSW-2224 in Southgate
I went to SYLVANIA, NSW-2224 Coles (Southgate) as to purchase a marked-,down “ICE BREAK” (2L regular-strength) at the self service checkout machine as i scanned my item & it had over then over-charged me the Full-Cost of $5 (this was on the 06/11/2020, & was exactly at 5:20pm), As it also was reduced to $4 (a Saving of $1)! For all principal reasons as i then went to the front desk at Coles to explain the falsely credited item; “ICE BREAK” (2L regular-strength) as it scared the full amount of $5 of my purchase (“ICE BREAK” 2L regular-strengt...h), as to show them that the scanner over-charged me the full amount-price of $5 (as i was supposed to get a Full—Refund as in any falsely marked-down item...that the scanner over-charged me)! I have then explained that this item; “ICE BREAK” - 2L regular-strength), that was incorrectly scan at the self-service scanning machine (I had receipt & was more than just fair in any way, shape or form to really get a full refund as for this overcharged item). The front staff member, as it reads on the receipt That it was a lady called; “[name removed]” But it was another ladies name on her name-badge as she covered her name badge because i asked her very politely to give me her name, & to give me a Full-Refund on this overcharged reduced item)! But she said it wasn’t her fault for not putting the Yellow reduced scanning sticker incorrectly & properly of $4 ... & she can’t give me the full refund (by all Coles regulations & rules- as that they >> “Have to fully refund you for any incorrectly over changed of any item that you have purchased”)... As she mentioned this with a real Bad Aggressive Attitude & Negative facial squint of a response, & she then said this; I Can’t Refund you anything AT ALL because it not my fault that the yellow scanning sticker didn’t scan your “ICE BREAK” property (as in a real monotoned aggressive grumpy voice...As she responded back to me)! This is Just Really Disrespectful, Disgusting, Disgraceful, Unacceptable & Just Totally Appalling to any Coles customer ... & Especially to a Disabled customer that has been with SYLVANIA, NSW-2224 (Southgate), & a Coles customers for over 40-years NoW...huh.”! I’m TOTALLY & COMPLETELY OFFENDED by this Same Coles staff member in SYLVANIA, NSW-2224 !! ( ˃̣̣̥o˂̣̣̥ ) I also do a lot of Online Coles ... for me & my brother-in-law as we have a combined Online Coles business account ... & I’ve never-ever had any kind of a problems, troubles or a negative response from the Online Coles!! I’m honestly & truly just done with Coles in SYLVANIA-SOUTHGATE, NSW-2224! As for me now That I’m going to shop with anyone But COLES SYLVANIA, NSW-2224 or with Any Coles because of they indecency & disrespectful of the same Staff member in Coles Sylvania, NSW 2224 !!!!!!! WARNING TO ALL Supermarket shoppers >>Do NOT SHOP AT COLES in SYLVANIA (Southgate), NSW-2224 ... OKAY!!!!
Your / coles branded cat food
I recently purchased coles branded cat food, this product several varieties seemed good value till I gave it to the outdoor cats we have, they would not touch it, so I thought I will give it to the stray cats at the cemetary across the road, guess what, not even the stray cats would eat this food ,say no more,I think you need to take a look at this as my cats opinion counts,I've seen the strays eat garbage, but not your catfood, very disappointed
Chicken with sumac and berry rub
Don't buy this new product! Supposed to be a new "gourmet range" $10 for half a chicken! Sounded nice but OIMG......revolting! It's disgusting! Unless you like a mouthful of salt and a bitter, inedible taste! I threw it out! Totally gross! Also.....not one bag of frozen peas in the store! Really?
Paul from Gawler Green is amazing
I have spoken to Paul a few times in the past week as I am after a certain item in the Christmas Stock that was due to arrive that week. After the 3rd day he kindly grabbed my details and said he will call me when the stock arrives but to continue to call on the weekend which was his day off. I got a call from Paul today when the stock arrived and he put it aside for me to collect after work today. He has gone above and beyond his role and he deserves a big pat on the back for his excellent customer service.
australian made salsas by coles
two salsas from coles, 'rojas' and 'verde', are just great and they're affordably priced,
most of all they are over 95% made in AUSTRALIA, which is a rare find.
medium sized chunks
i'm thrilled to find this salsa amongst the imports, which are also higher priced.
Questions & Answers
My husband purchased 2 bottles of Coles tomato paste made in China as I avoid any item of food from China I asked him to take it back and get the tomato paste made in Italy that I always buy it is about $1.30 more and he was told their policy is no returns . He was not asking for a credit just an exchange. This was at Charlestown.
Which coles brand icecream are vegetarian as well as alcohol free
The products for Hong Long Dim Sum Kitchen has never been replenished after 10am during the promotion period. Should not share this in the catalogue since it is always out of stock.
