Fraudulent Company – This company needs to be investigated for fraud. Not only do they refuse to let me cancel our services, but they say they can't prove I am the business owner, even after giving them a Stat Dec. Horrible customer service, all of their CS teams are offshore and all refuse to help. I highly recommend anyone who is dealing with this business to cancel their services, and when they refuse to cancel, lawyer up.

Don't do it! – I had a frustrating experience with commander geelong. I was pressured into upgrading my phone system because I was told my system, which I purchased just 4 years ago, would soon be obsolete. The Bluetooth system I upgraded to is hardwired, just like my old system, which makes no sense. I spent almost $10,000 on this overpriced system, and it's… Read more

been one mess after another since installation just a few weeks ago.

They charged me for a new modem on top of everything else, which feels like a total scam. This has caused me a lot of angst, especially since I had to reinstall my old phone system because the Bluetooth doesn’t work in my location at one point after it stopoed working. They should have recognized their mistake, canceled the contract, and made it right. Instead, it feels like they’ve taken advantage of my small business. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking honest service.

Harrassment – Relentless cold calling and blatant lies. They even tried to say they're not "selling anything" but are just "offering their services." Not cool. We have told them their phone calls are now nothing more than harrassment and must stop. There's no way we'd pay money to a company that acts like this. I'd recommend they be reported to ACCC and the Telecommunications Ombudsman.

Worst and most expensive phone contract ever..!! – AVOID..!! …This was my experience with Commander. A few years ago, [Name Removed], their sales rep came in to my small business in Welshpool, WA, claiming he could save me 50% on my phone bill. we signed up thinking I'd save $200 month on phones/internet. When the bills started rolling in, they were indeed 50% less, but there were two of them,… Read more

so we weren’t saving anything. We queried it with [Name Removed] and was informed “that's just the equipment rental” (even though equipment rental was never mentioned at all when we signed up).

During the next 12 months we had to have the phone system reprogrammed 3 times, because it was not working properly. Each time, the technician said, “ the last guy never set it up properly”. Annoyingly, there were still ongoing problems with the system, and so when we moved premises, 12 months into the contract, we changed phone provider.

As it turned out, we had been locked into the equipment contract for 36 months at $200/mth and there was nothing we could do about it. In an effort to mitigate the cost, we looked into selling the equipment to try and recoup the cost. We quickly discovered that the equipment (an AVAYA phone system and some desk phones) which was costing us $7200, could be bought online for less than $1500.

At that point we had no option but to ride the 36 contract out for the remaining 24 months (at $200/mth). At the 40 month mark we realised that we were still paying for the equipment. We queried it with GRENKE, who financed the equipment, and were told that the contract, which was set up by [Name Removed], has no end date, (ie it will continue forever unless we cancel it). We immediately cancelled it, only to be informed that the equipment doesn’t actually belong to us, it belongs to them and had to go back to Commander. (The total cost of the equipment was $7800. After which we still did not own it..!).

THIS WAS THE MOST EXPENSIVE PHONE CONTRACT WE EVER HAD, BY FAR..!!

In this day and age, who locks a small business into a contract like that..?! It’s disgraceful business ethics, and reprehensible.

Those at Commander should be ashamed of themselves.

My recommendation is to avoid these guys at all costs. If you do end up doing business with them, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL what you’re signing up for.

RUDE, AGGRESSIVE, LIARS – [Name Removed] has been calling my workplace repeatedly, pretending to know myself and the owner of the business to try and get put through to us. I get cold called by commander phone systems at least annually trying to bully me into taking on their system. I am SICK of this. I have just told [Name Removed] off for these tactics and will not be… Read more

The absolute worst – I hate being negative but this company is the worst. Their sales team use an aggressive approach to sign you into a contract for a system that exceeds your needs, is outdated when it arrives and will continue to be rented out to you as if it is cutting edge technology. Their technical support is a joke in the sense that they are not… Read more

knowledgeable enough to troubleshoot problems over the phone and instead will insist on sending out a "technician" which was quoted as $800 just got the visit.

Only after getting the ombudsman involved did we make any progress, but it was still like pulling teeth. The transfer process to leave the services of the company were horrible and they insisted that an early termination of the contract would result in my company paying the remainder of the rental on a phone system that was nearly ten years old.

Do not, under any circumstances, sign yourself, your friends or your worst enemy up to this company. You would be better off burning that money.

Unethical bullying behaviour, a complete lack of transparency and customer service in all our dealings with Commander – Refusal to acknowledge and issue a refund for a monthly payment we were forced to make twice because Commander refused to follow up and locate the first payment made by BPay - despite the fact that the monthly payment has been paid this way to Commander every month. To avoid the service being suspended the monthly payment was paid again. We have a… Read more

15 page email trail with Commander documenting both monthly payments with payment details. They are refusing to acknowledge or locate the first payment despite emailing the bank remittance to them four times. It is not possible to contact anyone in accounts at Commander only through a customer service email. Each time we respond to Commander's email their message is deleted so there is no record of Commander's communication with us. We have experienced unethical bullying behaviour with a complete lack of transparency and customer service in all our dealings with Commander.

Is this a joke company??? – It must be a joke company. If anyone is reached by them and offered for cheaper business phone line or broadband, STAY AWAY from this company. (Seriously...) structured (Its a joke company anyway)

Let me tell you my story,

I run restaurants, in one of the restaurant, we had 2 phone line with hunt group numbers with Commander. It means that anyone calls business's advertised number, both phones will ring and we can deal with 2 or more customers at once. After implementing new systems, we no longer needed the service, and we told them to cancel the service we will only need one phone line with business's advertised number. This was December 2021.

Its already late Feb 2022, they still haven't figured it out yet. Last week, they have disconnected our main phone number without notifying us. Naturally, we call tech support and they tells me they don't know what happened, so I need to call back on next business day. They couldn't divert calls because our business phone number was not registered or with commander (what does this mean?) I was told that the business phone number was with other phone company so I needed to contact them to release the phone number to commander (huh??)

Later that day, (I was already upset) they phoned me and told me that they have fixed the issue and turned out the phone number was just misplaced (huh???) They apologized to me and told me this will not happen again....guess what...our main phone line got disconnected the very next day!! so I called (again...) the tech support, its just recorded message saying they are having emergency issue...

I am now running the restaurant with no active phone line. This has costed us thousands already and Commander is not even considering compensation.

It is 2022, how this kind of company even exist?????? (What a joke!)

***Note: I have never wrote any review in my life. I just had to say something. I didn't name people I got involved with. Just because they also have people depend on them***

Could not be much worse – We have a small business that signed up in 2007. Their offerings for a post-ISDN world were either too expensive or not what we wanted. (On a side note, we wanted to maintain a legacy ISDN system for a little while longer for which they quoted over $10k. Our IT contractor installed a Patton VoIP gateway and we were good to go for $1,700). So we… Read more

decided to move away from Commander and during that process they disconnected our business because of, as they said, 'billing errors'. They reconnected us only to disconnect us again during the porting process. They explained this was some other error. Our business was stranded, we spent endless hours on the phone to their customer activation support team. Hours and hours of talking to people who would start you at the beginning each time. Woe betide if you ring after 5 ... you'll only get sales. Try to escalate or speak to a team leader .... not going to happen. At one stage they admitted their records had changed since 2007 and they could not identify us to Telstra.

We are no longer with them and, with respect, if you run a business and need a cost-effective telco in a post ISDN/PSTN world that can provide good local support, go elsewhere. Ours was a dreadful and costly experience. Support in the Philippines might save them money, but it is a dysfunctional mess.

Unbelievable that businesses like this are still in operation – Our small business had internet, multiple SIP trunks a fixed line and a phone system (local PBX system) with Commander. Nearly every month we had problems with the service and support is so inefficient that it is hard to believe that they can retain any customers. Speaking of support: The local dealers are just sales men trying to lure you into a… Read more

long term contract and the purchase of a phone system. They have no knowledge and intention to help you fix problems. The overseas support is inefficient and you will spend an average of 5 phone calls each (30-45min) on the phone to resolve a single problem.

Some of the problems we had: - Paid for 50/20 NBN was internally limited to 20/5 with no mention and took multiple calls to be set to the contract speed. - Adding and removing SIP trunks took months - Inflated phone bills (often charged for services twice (e.g. we prepaid mobile phone calls but were charged even though they were pre paid or paid in a pack) - Cut business lines during the day without warning. - Cut internet during the day without warning.

We are delighted to have cut ties with such a business designed to make life unnecessary harder for small business operation.

Incompetent company. Do not sign up – They deserve 0 star rating. 1 star rating is too generous. I have been commander for 2.9 years using PTSN lines. I wanted to port out my phone number. was reinstated. During that day where they cut my line, they had the gall to sell me their SIP trunking product. I pay for bills by direct debit. They sent me a bill for $55.50 which they said was overdue despite having direct debit in process for more than 2 years plus issued a late payment fee. Commander contacted and they acknowledged that they did indeed have a direct debit order in place but their system failed. They are completely incompetent and will harm your business by cutting your lines with no warning. They will also try to make it difficult for you to transfer your business to another provider.

The best thing is to avoid this company all together. If you have an account with them, transfer out ASAP and document every fault they make in the process so you can successfully litigate and refer it to the telecommunications ombudsman.
