I recently purchased a full house lot of doors from Complete Doors Online, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. Before my order was delivered, the doors went on sale. I asked if the discounted price could be honoured—while that… Read more
request was declined (which I can accept), the real issue is what followed.
Their customer service is appalling. I reached out multiple times through different channels and received no response. Eventually, I got a single SMS saying the manager would look into it, but I never heard back. I followed up several more times and was completely ignored.
That level of communication is unacceptable—especially when you’re spending significant money. It leaves zero confidence in how they’d handle an actual issue or fault with their product.
As a builder and house flipper, I rely on suppliers I can trust and communicate with. I won’t be using them again, and I’d much rather spend a little extra elsewhere to deal with a business that values its customers.
Follow-up · Zero resolution since my review. Zero contact. Zero care factor. Had to order more doors, chose to spend a bit extra and go elsewhere where customer service has been incredible.
I wish I had of read these reviews before purchasing. It's a big fat zero for me. I have just paid $4000 for the most ugly doors I have ever seen. The sales person has no idea what he is talking about. He sold me maple doors telling me I can stain them to achieve a light oak look. When I contacted the company that they suggest to order the stain… Read more
they informed me that ist is pretty much impossible to achieve this colour with maple timber. I cannot believe this guy straight out lied about achieving this colour. I have since learnt you should steer clear ion maple if you are wanting to stain it as it blotches. so do not get your timber doors through them as they only do Maple veneer apparently and you can see below in the picture how ugly the grain is.
If I could leave a ZERO star review, I would. Purchasing a door from this company was the worst experience. After a 3 month battle to get a refund for a door that arrived seriously bowed (a bow of 10mm is totally unacceptable), I finally have a full refund including the DELIVERY CHARGE, which was obtained via a credit card chargeback. Removing… Read more
their "Damage-free Delivery Guarantee" from their website once the incident was lodged was a classy move. If you find yourself battling to enforce your rights under Australian Consumer Law, do not back down. Lodge a complaint with NSW Fair Trading if they do not comply with their consumer obligations. I would never buy from or recommend this company, the negative reviews here speak volumes.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this company. The door I received arrived with cracked glass, which was not only very upsetting but also completely unacceptable for a product that was supposed to be brand new. A door is a major purchase, and it should arrive in perfect condition, but instead I was left dealing with damage right… Read more
from the start.
The way the situation was handled was very unprofessional. There was no real sense of responsibility or urgency to resolve the issue, and the communication I received felt dismissive. For a company that is selling products like doors, which are essential parts of a home, I would expect a much higher level of care in both their product quality and their customer service.
Because of this poor experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Buying from them carries too much risk of receiving faulty products and having to deal with unhelpful service afterwards. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for your purchase.

Doors were delivered with water damage. The company rejected our claim, stating we caused the water damage. The doors were still in their plastic covering with the water damage inside. Also, on their website, the doors are marketed as “solid engineered wood”. This is completely misleading. The doors are flimsy pieces of thin mdf. We’ll be putting in a claim with Fair Trading.
Poor customer service, non caring, buyer beware – Extremely poor customer service, when we had our door installed they mismeasured the frame and we were left with 2 side panels exposed, the installer assured us he would re-order the correct size to finish the installation. 2 weeks passed with no contact from the sales person, we sent an email asking for an update and he claimed "first he heard,… Read more
there was an issue with the installation". He then came back to us and blamed our old door frame that they couldn't measure properly and we would have to pay more money to get the 2 sides installed "if we want". After contacting fair trading and many months later we finally had our door completed.
Good quality door – I ordered a front door from the website and picked up from the warehouse, communication throughout was great, the door was of very high quality and great price. Would definitely recommend Complete doors, Staff were friendly and very helpful
Lack of professionalism and incorrect quoting – Initially everything was going smoothly until the moment when they brought the door for the installation. They ordered wrong cutting for our existing hardware. I mentioned to the sales person and the specialist who came to measure the existing door that we’d like to keep our existing hardware (handle and the lock). Apparently, they thought (after… Read more
seeing and measuring everything) that we have a different hardware. Now the company makes me to pay for the new hardware that will match the produced door. Highly unprofessional to make clients pay for their staff mistakes. Never order anything from this company, spend your money somewhere else.
Not solutions focused and do not put customers first – Disgusting treatment. Not solutions focused and do not put customers first. Brought us the wrong door. Waited 4 weeks for the right door. Promised install and staining would be completed on the same day - painter called us to tell us he couldn’t do the job. Left with an unfinished door.
Bad Experience – We accepted a quote from Complete Doors Sydney on the 26th October 2022 for the instillation of 2 French doors to be installed in a hallway. The job was completed on the 2nd March 2023 to an acceptable standard although we really did not have a choice. Some of the damage from the repair is still present as a reminder. We signed off because we had… Read more
had enough. The following is an abridged version of a letter we sent to [Name Removed] the manager after we had complained to one of his staff who never remembered who we were and failed to return calls and before the doors were fixed. [Name Removed] refused to replace damaged doors. They are now heavily undercoated to discuise damage to solid wood, maple veneered doors (glass inserts).
9th February 2023: Fair Trading states that the product must "be of acceptable quality". To us the quality was not acceptable as one door had been damaged with a deep and long gauge which was not a fault in the timber, as it penetrated through the veneer, meaning the damage was done after manufacture. The damage was visible and poorly repaired with a gap in the filling and wood.
The veneer was lifting on the other door which had chips and dings. No explanation was given to us about an unsightly extension on the left door that is meant for stopping weather. (this is an internal door, not an external door).
Fair trading states that work must "match descriptions made by the salesperson, on packaging and labels, and in promotions or advertising". This was not the case as the doors are second quality. The carpenter who measured up did not go through the items he listed on the hardware price sheet, as we thought it was a check list for the factory. Clients are not tradespeople and need things fully explained.
When we asked for the doors to be removed as the defects were terrible, we asked for them to be replaced with first quality doors. [Name Removed] refused. We asked an independent carpenter for an assessment. He told us it was one of the worst jobs he had seen and doors needed to be replaced and work started all over again. The following are a list of issues that we were very unhappy about.
Carpenter: 1) Lacked expertise. Explained nothing to us. Did not check if things were OK before proceeding. Did not use a dust sheet on the floor or clean up sufficiantly. 2) Did not use a mask when using a reciprocating saw to cut the craft wood skirting boards. The timber got very hot and gave off a terrible smell. I asked if it would make dust and he said no. Therefore, I did not cover good furniture and ornaments. The dust was everywhere. 3) He left before finishing at around 5.00, before I made a good inspection. Said he would return to finish the job. He never returned with additional hardware to complete. 4) He lost his temper, because the job was not going right, multiple times and used the 'c' and 'f' words, my husband had to speak to him about his language. He went outside to cool off. 5) The doors, walls and ceiling were left dirty and damaged. 6) The doors were left with brown paper and masking tape half off and extending onto the base coated area of the doors so that chips were disguised. 7) The door architraves are ill fitting with many gaps and move when pressed as they are not properly attached. 8) The hinges were bashed with a hammer (not covered with a wood block), when the doors would not close. The doors were left not closing. The hinge seat was so close to timbers that they grated on the architrave. The doors were not level at top and bottom.
This is the worst job we have ever had done, taken the longest and has been very upsetting. We supplied photos to the manager. He tried to negate responsibility, however he did ultimately send a replacement carpenter who removed all doors and took them away for repair. We were not happy about this as we paid for 1st quality doors. He retured some weeks later to remove all work that had been done and start all over again. The work is now satisfactory but the deep gauge in the door, (30cms long) is visible. Yes, [Name Removed] has repaied most of the damage, but under consummer law he had to. None of the damage should have been there in the first place.
Beware, check that the carpenter has expertise, go through the documents before you sign anything. Make sure you know the quality of the product you are getting. Many doors are made in China. Arguing with a company is stressful. It might have been better if [Name Removed] had come and looked at the job and at least apologised, he was too busy. Perhaps another company will do better.
