Terrible Continental 20" Tyres – Continentals are Rubbish tyres. 20" Tyres came standard on my VW Tiguan Allspace R. Has black goo inside and an ordinary flat could not be repaired. Two reputable tyre shops told me the same story they are not repairable but must be replaced. After 18K they are over 50% worn anyway. Will never buy a vehicle with Continental tyres again. Show details

Can't wait to get rid of them – Factory fitted to my 2018 RHD Mercedes GLC43 AMG. F 255/40/21 R 285/35/21 The front steering/suspension kept 'crabbing' 'juddering' on 3/4 lock or more. The whole car juddered. Quite a common problem with this model car. The front tyres were worn out at 6,000km (mainly town use). After complaining about this crabbing for nearly 12 months, they… Read more

changed the from tyres for a different compound under warranty - same model of tyre but without the MO marking. Problem solved....no more crabbing. BUT, now after a further 10,000km, the front tyres are worn out again - probably got about 2,000km to go. The rear tyres also need changing probably within the next 2,000-3,000km. The tyres work okay but I think they are too soft. Small stones adhere to the flat part of the tread - not just the grooves. These tyres in New Zealand are expensive - around NZ$750 plus fitting each (discount price - dealership over $1,000 each) !!!!! If I fit 4 new ones, it will cost me NZ$3,200 - and only last max' 15,000km. Probably fit Michelin Super Sport or similar - NZ$620 plus fitting each. Anyone got better suggestion ?

Significant upgrade – Purchased this tyre last January 21, 2017, I upgraded my previous tyre and wheel size, this Continental tyre I have is 235/50 R18. I consider this as a significant upgrade for two main reasons: HANDLING and RIDE COMFORT. While I don't consider my previous tyre as an incapable or not good. This Conti sports contact 5 is a very significant… Read more ·  1

improvement. Grip and handling are superb in all weather conditions. For example, last March 2 I had the chance to drive in a heavy rain around the Kangaroo Valley going to Albion Park Rail, I can say it is very excellent and superb in handling. I have no doubt on this tyre.

Second It is far more comfortable than the previous tyre I had; I'm not sure if it is because of the tyre size? But even my wife noticed the big difference in the comfort level of the tyre. But it also comes with two disadvantages: Noise and softness, bit the softness of the tyres attribute to its grip and comfort of the tyre I can't fault it. You have to compromise; then there is the price as well.

The noise is somewhat noticeable especially in a rough bitumen aside from that it's good. But keep in mind MITSUBISHI ASX is known for sound insulation a bit of underdone, the tyre and wheel size might also push it to be a bit noisy.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE is excellent and beautiful to drive in a wet and dry season. Loving it! Drove for 2,200kms.

Great high performance road tyre – These tyres have been fitted to a MINI Cooper S R53 with suspension modifications. Fairly good compromise between outright grip & comfort & with "reasonable" wear. Just don't expect them to last tens of thousands of KMs. Compare Apples with Apples folks. Noise wise they're middle of the road, which is good for a performance tyre. Just don't fit… Read more

them to a luxury car & complain about noise. It exhibits very good dry weather handling & confident wet weather characteristics. At the end of the day there are "always" compromises when it comes to performance. Either it be quicker wear due to a softer compound for outright grip or noisy aggressive tread patterns for dispersing water or a stiff tyre construction for response. There is no one "tyre" that will do it all. A semi slick tyre will be better yet again, with the associated compromises. These tyres are good value too if you shop around. I got a good deal online with fitment at a local partner tyre shop.

Great tyre! But... they wear out a little fast – I like these Continentals. They are quiet, grip well in wet or dry and can handle being thrown around. I have them on my very heavy Lexus LS600hL which can wear the edges off tyres quickly. The Conti’s started showing shoulder wear at about 40,000Ks or 20 months. So good for maybe 45,000 to 50,000 kilometres. I recommend these for highway driving mostly. Show details

Good brand tyres with sporty look – Bought this tyre at a discounted price as I know it is a famous brand and fits my car's sporty look. Has used it for more than 5000kms and still hitting the road. Runs smoothly and grip the road well. Show details

Marshmellow ride – I had these tyres ones before when i opted to buy them. This time they where already on my new Golf R 7.5 when i bought the car. On both ocassions i find the ride on these tyres just too giving around corners when applying spirited driving. They feel soft marshmallow like when taking bends and corners. They are simply not suited for sports driving… Read more

that requires a firmer tyre wall. Though these tyres are njce and quiet and very good for average driving styles, but certainly not for sport driving style. I be reverting back to the Bridgestone Potenza when these are worn.

Tyres – Standard tyres, nothing special about then they wear down fast enough so I wouldn't be rushing back to get them again, shop around for them and if you get a good deal go for it, otherwise spend a little extra on a higher quality tyre and you'll know the difference after 50000kms  Show details

Expensive tyre, very fast wear – Probably the fastest wearing tyre I have ever owned, and most expensive. My 2019 C300 Mercedes chewed through the front run flats within 12000klms. This is totally unacceptable. One tyre was bald just shy of 10000klms. Show details

Magnificent Performance – These are truly remarkable tyres. The handling around bends with speed in all conditions were faultless. The harder I pushed them the more confident I became. However, tyres can not be all things to all people. In exchange for exceptional performance they had compromised life, less than 25’000km and being a softer tyre I cracked an alloy wheel… Read more

on a pothole. Regarding the short life span of the tyre it’s fair to say that 70% of those miles were on Northern Territory (Australia) roads in excruciatingly hot temperatures. The bitumen roads in the tropical north seem to be made with deeper sealed gravel to enable heavy tropical rain to drain without flooding the road surface. All around remarkable handling…at a price.

Perfect for drive, worn out quickly less than 33k – I got Volvo xc90 D5 2020 , tyres Continental 275/45/r 20 v 110 xl had come with new car . Generally I drive car smooth , noticed they were completely worn out by 33k. These tyres are smooth while riding, good in handling road conditions however I am not happy with them as they were quickly worn out. These tyres are not cheaper, I would expect minimum 40k and they are failed to do. I will not buy these continentals anymore. Show details

Nice, but fragile... I've had enough! – I've been running Continental ContiSportContacts now for about 8 years. And with every generation, the sidewall can fail (where maybe you've hit a small pothole or bump... not hard but it creates a blister on the side wall). This has happened three times now. They just aren't very robust. Like others say, they are nice tyres, grippy(wear quickly),… Read more

quiet etc etc, but they've let me down too may times and they aren't cheap to replace. I've got Michelins (PSS) on the other car and they have been fantastic.

Good gripping tyre but worn out so quickly – A really grippy tyre, great in the wet and dry. Really disappointed at how quickly they have worn though. Only 26000km on my Holden ZB Calais Tourer and nearly down to the wear indicator marks. Don't expect to replace a set of tyres so soon. Do mainly highway driving. Show details

NOT RECOMMENDED – We bought these tyres in August for a Volvo V40 diesel. At a routine Volvo service in October we found 2 of the tyres were damaged beyond repair. Bob Jane Haberfield refused to accept any liability and said it was driver error. We foolishly bought 2 more of these from Bob Jane as they offered a small discount and it was easy. NEVER AGAIN as another tyre developed a problem with the tyre wall. Show details

Rubbish tyres - the worst ever. Had to replace in just 17000 km – These tyres came fitted on my new Santa Fe which I bought in January 2019. The car had done just over 17000 kms, and one of the 4 tyres became completely bald at the edges. The remaining three tyres also didn't have much of the tread left on them. I have never driven done any offroading or harsh driving to cause such excessive wear. The tyre… Read more

pressure has always been mainted at 35-36 psi as per the manufacturer's recommendation. Santa Fe is my family car and driving with these tyres was a risk, so I had to replace all the 4 tyres at just 17000 km - and of course I did NOT buy Continentals. Never again.

The worst tyres I have had in my life so far.

Contisport Contact 5 – Came fitted to our new car and we have now done just over 7000 km. I have found them to be very good in both wet and dry and tar and gravel road conditions. Wear seems negligible so far. They are reasonably quiet and hold a great line when pushed the car handles great and these tyres are part of that. Show details

Absolute Rubbish – We have these tyres from Hyundai on our Tucson highlander and they have worn down in around 35000kms! We mainly have only highway/freeway driving so no harch breaking or turning and these are now pretty much ready to be replaced. I would expect at least 50,000kms at a minimum from a tyre. Best to date that i have had on this car – Excellent tyre , great grip wet or dry , certainly enhance the AWD grip when pushing hard through corners . Rotated at 5000km but no noticable wear . Value around $220 each but worth it for comfort and low noise. Over all well recommended if you have a highervtech car  Show details

They wear out super quick, but otherwise a great tyre – Great traction and super quiet, a great tyre from driver’s perspective. Unfortunately, they are expensive and wear fast. I managed only 16,000 Ks on a new Mercedes C200 before they were bald. This was totally unexpected as I usually manage to get around 25,000 Ks on most other sports style tyre. Edit: Managed to get a great price on a new set… Read more

direct from Continental dealership (35% cheaper than from Mercedes Adelaide). Decided, better the devil you know and purchased again. Hopefully, with the wheel alignment and regular rotation will get better Ks. As mentioned, they're fantastic on the road, particularly if you like to drive. With the better price from Continental, I have revised up my rating from three-star to four.

Hate them – They wear out. I had a wheel alignment when I purchased then 10,000 in and they had already started wearing out. I am up to 22,000 I think I will need new ones very soon. I looked online and I should have read the reviews before I bought them. I will never buy them again. The tread is fine just patchy. The grip is ok except when wet has a tenancy to slip around corners and I don't speed. I will not buy them again.  Show details

Excellent when looked after – I’ve found them as good as other good quality tyres, and purchased them buy 4, get one free, so it seemed a great deal. Great tyres but they wear quickly – Bought these as they were Motor magazine top tyre of the year (2016 or 2017?). They have been fantastic - great grip especially in the wet. Only issue is I am noticing they are wearing quickly on the rears of the Commodore compared to a harder, less grippy tyre. Trick would be to rotate them early (before 10,000 klms) so you can wear them easily.  Show details

Good Performing Tyres – These are good performing tyres. Offered good grip in the dry and in the wet. Gave a confident driving experience. Low road noise. The only con would be slightly higher wear rate and higher priced tyres. These were purchased online so pricing was too good to refuse and gave them a try.  Show details

Put a price on handling? – These feel really sticky on the road, especially with a very light medium power car, they get smoked on my higher power cars but hold nicely at the front, and noticeable improvement in the wet compared to others I’ve tried. But they are pretty pricey considering what else is out there...  Show details
