Crap tyre – Makes your car feel like a boat wouldn’t buy these ever again. Show details
horrible horrible horrible – Worst tires ever H/T coopers on pajero. Pajero would side all over the place in wet conditions very scary tire choice. Punctured tire first time out on dirt track 200kms from Burke slow trip into town. Had to replace after 47000 kms not even 50000 mostly on road little off road. Not abusive or hard driving to wear down so quickly how can Cooper… Read more
tires say they last up to 80000 tires last nowhere near it. Don't buy this brand. Yet Another disgruntled customer that will never buy Coopers again.
cant call them good at all!!! – Poor wet weather grip. only see 50,000km,s out of 80,000km,s warranty with very carefull driving. Warranty i found, locks you in to checks at dealer every 5,000km,s and who does that?? they are quiet but not worth the extra money Show details
Cooper srx on benz – Replaced cooper ht3's with 20" srx's on my benz ml350 after 50000 mostly highway driving. Have had a few sets before and the worst were crs's-crap with heaps of punctures. These srx's were recommended by tyre retailer and from day one vibrations through entire car. They rebalanced them and found one small imperfection in a rear rim but had that… Read more
fixed and the tyres are even worst. Can't drive on them at speed for any length of time, the vibration through the steering is untenable. Will never buy copper again and will go for some quality like michelin. Not happy as retailer claims no other problems with them? Will not go back there-ever! Plus will not recommend coopers ever again.
2 bubbles 1 blowout – Travel between cairns and Yeppoon. First problem 15 kilometres out of Ingham severe wobbling and shaking. Crawled into tyre centre Ingham 2rear severe bubbles. Only had 2 tyres to suit. Put 2 front coopers to rear. Stop Townsville overnight. Left early. 20 kilometres north of Marlborough severe blowout to rear. Big problems 2jacks. Cut mud guard away. Drove cautiously to Yeppoon. Long day. Show details
Not all they are cracked up to be – I had the LT Cooper H/T tyres fitted for strength (light truck), noise (highway pattern) and durability (Cooper warranty and general hype). I replaced the Dunlop Grandtrek AT22 on my Landcruiser, which were a good road tyre but wore out (including the spare) after 35,000km. The Coopers handled the off road well. We travelled through Innamincka,… Read more
the Birdsville Track, the Simpson desert to Poepples Corner, the Oodnadatta Track and through Finke Gorge as well as lots of rough, corrugated roads. They only lasted just over 50,00km and the wear of the tyres over relatively smooth dirt with small sharp stones was woeful. The (hard?) rubber compound just chipped off, and at the end of about 5,000km down the Birdsville Track, it looked like the treads had been sandblasted, with no sharp edges left on any of the tread blocks. We got a new set from Cooper for 5/8ths new price because we didn't get the full 80,000km warrantied. I presume it will be bad luck for you if you want replacement tyres other than Cooper.
So, all good? Not really. The on-road performance left a lot to be desired. They were a quiet tyre on the bitumen, and OK in the dry and the wet when new, but by the time they were 25% gone they were absolutely hopeless in the wet - turned wet roads to glass and extended ABS braking distances markedly.
I have to rate the tyre as BAD, simply because the wet road handling is poor enough to be considered dangerous.
It is so difficult to find a tyre that suits all, but the Cooper hype of hard rubber and deep tread for long wear just does not stack up when you consider the downsides of poor wet traction.
Long life, but not that grippy – This tyre is wearing well, however does tend to slide around on the rear in all conditions, has rather car like shoulders, and does seem to mark and cut rubber when taken off road a bit. I don't think I would buy these again as there are a lot better tyres out there that do the job better. Show details
Quiet, quality, long lasting – I've done around 300000km on Coopers, and have just replaced my brand new Landcruiser's Dunlop Grandtreks with HT3s. This is my 5th set of Coopers (all LTs), and second set of HT3 LTs (before that were AT3s). I've had Coopers on a 1995 Pathfinder, 1999 Landcruiser, 2011 Navara and now 2016 Landcruiser. I do a lot of 4WDingn on sand, capstone,… Read more
corrugated fast dirt and limestone. Not once have I had a puncture, the only set I wore out had well over 80000km on them ( from memory a bit over 93000). I moved to HT3s as they are quieter than the AT3s and wear more evenly. Also, Coopers only came out with the HT3s in LT 2 or 3 years ago. I have also had BF Goodrich and Dunlop, shredding the Dunlops (standard radials) while towing an old Jayco around Australia. Will always buy Cooper as they have not let me down so far. They're often cheaper than other 'good' brands and are good value for money.
Cooper Discoverer H/T 235/65R17 – Had these on the Wife's SUV (Honda MDX) for the last 7 years. She done approx 80,000kms . Great tyre, good on gravel, good on the highway, quiet. Grips well around corners, doesnt roll. This tyre is well suited to this car. If you are after a tyre that will last longer than most I can recommend this tyre. We never really noticed any weaknesses so are very happy with this tyre.
Vibration city! – My cooper H/T tires from day one wouldn't balance right, tried new shocks and springs and alignment, to no avail they still shake bad at 65 mph. cooper will only warranty if replaced with another cooper. No thanks i will try Michelins this time. These tires have been rebalanced 4 times in 5000 miles and still no fix. getting new tires at 5000… Read more
miles sucks! Cooper needs to allow returns for a bad product, I dont want more coopers I want a smooth tire, not more problems!!!!!
Don't like the wet – I replaced my bridgestone for Coopers HTdid nthe 5000 kms service all ok then I noticed that they started to slip in the wet if I was starting from a uphill start. At 15,000 km I went back and got them rotated as every time I took off in the wet the back slid out, told the bob jane guy he told me to not be a lead foot off the mark.I have no faith… Read more
in these tryes in the wet Iam lucky to get another 5000kms out of them just in fear factor alone.....give me back my Bridgestones
No grip in the wet
Good – Wear and grip were great covered 90000 kms and had no problems, always pumped to manufacturers pressure plus 3 psi. Wear and grip were great covered 90000 kms and had no problems, only one flat in all that time.
Unbeatable! Great money saving tyre – Original tyres on my 2002 Hilux lasted 33,000 klms, disgusted with them I turned to Cooper H/T's I've now travelled 95,000 klms on them and could maybe squeeze another 5,000 klm out of them, the wear is still even across the tyre and never had a puncture. All I can say is I'll never use anything else, their Awsome!! One set of these have been on my Hilux for the past 8yrs Not a dam thing!!!
Terrible – I previously had Michelin LTX M/S's (running 31’s) and got over 100,000km on my Toyota Troop Carrier in a mix of dirt and bitumen driving. Excellent tyres! But unfortunately I followed the hype a few years ago,and for only $30 less a tyre than the Michelin’s, I fell victim to the "Coopers hype". 95% of my driving on the Coopers has been on the… Read more
highway. They were ok for the first 10,000km but started to wear dramatically after that. I've rotated them regularly and had them re-balanced, yet at 45,000km it’s time to replace them. I’m buying a new set of Michelin’s today. They make Michelin's look even better... Expensive, unreliable and you won't get many km's out of them.
