5 years plus still as new – Best thing I've ever bought.. I would say its been at least 8 years and still works. No trouble what so ever and i have long hair to my butt and a lot of it too. The plates are the same as when i bought it. I don't think I've ever bought or had anything electrical that has lasted this long

My best friend – Iv had this for over 5 years and use it at least 4-5 times a week and works as good as the day I brought it. Money well spent I think. Shuts off by itself if u forget to switch off. Smooth and light. Great for short and long hair. Never damaged my hair. Instantly heats to full temp 210•. No regrets Value for money. Still works like new. Auto turns off when left on by accident Nothing as yet

Great when worked dissapointing when stopped for no good reason – I was told the Cortec was a much better iron than the GHD cost the same worked for a year then one day just wouldn't switch on out of warrantee not that it matters can't find where to fix it anyway. problem if they fix that it would be one of the best irons on the market great on the hair left it straight and silky wouldn't switch on for no good reason just one day didn;'t work and I have no idea where to get it fixed

OK – great when working. very disapointing when for no good reason it stops working. would like the manafacturer to fix this loved the straightner, very smooth to operate, great to use. i have had the straightner for a year and a half, never been dropped, looked after very well but went to use it today and it didnt turn on at all. very weird. im so disapointed, and will not buy this brand ever again!

Good – I have had mine for 5 years and never had any problems....I dropped my straightner for the 1st time about 4 weeks ago and still in good working order. Smooth, Sleek and Shine still to this day Ceramic Plate started peeling away after 2 years

OK – Works well when it works but is very annoying when it fails, the safety shut off is great when you forget to turn it off. Its light to hold, gets very hot and switches itself off. First one broke under 12 months, replacement broke under 2 years, this is really poor engineering for the cost of the product, I will never buy this brand again.

Terrible – do not waste ur money on the cortec ur better off spending that bit extra and getting a GHD i would not by this item again unless they fixed the fault for good and gauranteed a lifetime warranty with it aswell as gauranteeing that it had been improved as everyoneelse has said great hairstraightener glides beautifully thru hair and works just as good as the ghds my hair smelt burnt all the time, and just stopped working after 8 months of having it

warranty. Good straightener... i would have bought another one if it didn't break one week out of warranty. It was gentle on my hair and made it super shiny. the variable heat was great. it heats up very quickly. it broke one week out of warranty. it was expensive. i don't think i would waste my money again.

OK – On my 5th one. Hairhouse Warehouse great replacing it and so was Cortec. They just havent lasted more than a year!!! Excellent when it works Price

Good – One of the best straighteners i've used (and ive used a few over the years..) does the job quickly and the results are great. Excellent – Love it! I havent had a single problem with mine and have had it for two and a half years Its great - heats up quickly, and i can have my hair straightened in 15 mins, from wet to dry :) I also like that its pink hehe. My pack also came with a stand and a heat resistant travel bag, clips and comb :) Umm maybe the fact it has a yellowy colouring on the side of it now, but if you had a black one you wouldnt even notice!

third cortec, my sisters and I use it everyday and after about 8 months they just stop working, Luckily I kept the recipt and hairhouse warehouse replaced it both times!!! I have had this particular one for about 12 months, but when this 1 goes I think I will try another brand!!

Good – Overall it has been good to us, getting used everyday - sometimes twice a day. warehouse were happy to swap it for a new one - which was a newer model with all the bugs ironed out hopefully. It's not the dearest or the cheapest, sitting probably above the middle range. Next time i think we'll consider paying the extra to see what all the fuss is about with the GHD.

once. Leaves the hair shiny too, not boofy and dull like previous cheaper irons have done. Also after a while, maybe an hour or so, it has a safety function to switch itself off, which is great when you're forgetful! It did break down after having it for 9 or 10 months, just switched itself off after a few minutes of me turning it on.

heating up and not giving me the results i want! Very disappointed with the product and over the course of the 18months i did notice it started to take longer to heat up every time, sometimes up to 5 minutes to heat up!

Bad – very sad as cant find any details for the company anywhere to get it repaired and am not willing to buy a new one at full cost will have to move on to a more reputable brand such as ghd unfortunately. loved this straightner, leaves hair silky and healthy broke down for no reason whatsoever after 12months

Bad – Very disappointed as daughter saved money for months to buy it and of course didn't keep warranty or box and can't find the manufacturer on the net. Not worth the money if it doesn't last. Look and light weight. Easy to use. Broke down for no obvious reason after 6 months.
