Coursera uses auto-renewal after free trials and offers no reasonable refund, even when the charge is unintentional and the content is completely unused. I cancelled immediately after noticing the payment, explained the situation clearly, and asked for a goodwill refund. The request was refused repeatedly, with no escalation offered, and the case… Read more

Policies are applied rigidly with no customer consideration. This experience felt unfair, dismissive, and not customer-focused.
BEWARE: impossible to cancel paid subscription and no way to escalate it. Fraud? – If I could give it zeros stars, I would. I signed up for a trial, which converted to a paid subscription. They have been charging me $115/mo, but I am unable to cancel the subscription. When I log into my profile and follow all their online instructions, my accounts shows no purchases, and no transactions. And yet...they're billing me $115/month.… Read more
There is no way to escalate. There is no way to contact a person. It's just a chatbot with the exact same instructions that don't work. So....I am stuck. I'll now have to raise a complaint with my bank and possibly cancel my credit card. What a nightmare
Great value and study from top universities around the world – I work in healthcare as an instructional designer but want to keep my other skills fresh and improve my educational qualifications. With the pandemic, don't feel like sitting in a classroom nor risking traffic to get to a University. So I've had my eye on Coursera for at least 3 years before purchasing...going on and off their email list (they… Read more
are persistent that way with marketing)!
BUT in September they ran a very rare special (saved about $50 AUD or $35 USD), so I jumped in for about $540? AUD total for one year.
Now I can access 7000 courses online (certificate courses) including from Yale, University of Penn and so many more! I'm currently studying medical-related and healthcare courses right now (anatomy, radiology, terminology, etc.) but they offer just about everything online, including cybersecurity etc. and their system - complete with being able to set and edit your own completion dates -- with friendly reminders popping up to keep you on schedule with self-paced learning- is fantastic.
For my courses so far, they take about 2 hours each over a 7-week period - I manage my own time and do them when it suits me best. The instructors, so far, are fabulous (that's a Yale "introduction to imaging" (Visualising the Human Body) imaging technology course I'm speaking of at the moment as I'm only a few courses in so far).
HIGHLY recommend them if you love to learn, can discipline yourself to keep going, and want to pick and choose a variety of courses to forward your knowledge or career (hint: choose topics you love - over 7,000!). You get a Certificate from the education provider/University on successful completion.
