Creative Stone

If I could give zero stars, I would. I strongly warn anyone considering using Creative Stone for their bench top installation. My experience with them has been extremely disappointing, stressful, and costly. [Name Removed], who runs the admin side, was warm and friendly until I paid the 80% deposit back in November 2024. After that, getting the job booked in was slow and frustrating. The stone wasn’t installed until just before Easter 2025 — months later.

When the stone was finally installed by [Name Removed], the workmanship was shocking. He even admitted to my dad on installation day that the stone kept breaking and that he hadn’t slept because of it. Instead of stopping the job or contacting the supplier (RMS Stone) when he discovered what he claimed were serious quality issues, he simply pushed ahead, leaving me with benchtops that are cracked, poorly joined, and unacceptable by any professional standard.

RMS Stone confirmed that Creative Stone never contacted them about supposed stone quality problems. I don’t doubt the stone is poor quality (despite RMS saying it’s one of their strongest marbles) but it’s obvious that the damage occurred during handling and installation. If the stone was “too crumbly” as [Name Removed] claimed, any competent stonemason would have flagged this immediately with the supplier rather than pressing on knowing the outcome would be visually diabolical and the stone structure compromised.

Initially when I raised my concerns, [Name Removed] sent [Name Removed] back 10 weeks later and tried to buff out the cracks, but the end result is still terrible. After this [Name Removed] refused to answer my calls or emails. [Name Removed] from RMS even went to their factory in Hoppers Crossing to talk to them about the job and they refused to take accountability. I’ve now given up.

This was my very first kitchen renovation. At no stage was I shown proper drawings or given clear advice about slab sizing or where joins would fall. Had I been properly guided, I would have made different choices and avoided this disaster.

This was not a cheap job and I have been left with a kitchen bench top that is botched and unsightly. I am now preparing to take Creative Stone to VCAT for poor workmanship and negligence. In my opinion, this company does not stand by their clients, does not advocate when things go wrong, and does not take responsibility for their mistakes.

⚠️ My advice: Avoid Creative Stone at all costs. They will happily take your money, but if anything goes wrong, you will be ignored, blamed, and left with an appalling result that you have to fight to fix.
