Crossray Electric TCE15KIT
VerifiedMPN: TCE15KIT1 review
Design flaws – I recently bought the CrossRay 2-bar Electric BBQ as I wanted a small, reliable and easy to clean BBQ. This one met all those conditions but in terms of flexibility it was a dismal failure due to some elementary design faults. It’s a simple design, 2 separate heating elements and a switch to control them, what could go wrong. Well how about one can only have on 1-bar or 2-bars but you cannot select which single bar to have on, either the front or the back to suit whether one is using the grill or hot plate. Next the element is either on or off, there is no variance to change the temperature (ideally individually for each element). Now this is an electric BBQ and so the switch does everything, or in this case next to nothing. Here’s a suggestion as a design improvement. Put in two switches, one for each element and allow the switch to be graduated to adjust the temperature. It’s not rocket science. The second switch can be positioned where the timer is, which is obsolete nowadays. As it’s only a switch that needs replacing and adding, how about making the improvement able to be retro-fitted so that existing customers can enjoy this significant improvement, that would be nice.
