D-Link N300 DSL-2750B

D-LINK are OK – We had lots of problems with this unit during set up, but once it was up and running was ok. Not the best on the market we've now learned but did the job. Show details
not good one – Worked great for the first year and a half, but now it seems to be on its way out. Called my ISP to double check, and they say everything is fine on their end. Now our internet will go from a crawling speed to decent speeds and everywhere inbetween. Will continue to investigate, but I believe this router is on its way out unfortunately Show details
Super reliable – I didn't go go out and spend hundreds on a modem I haggled this for 50 and I can't fault easy to set up configure and the customer support is great. I use a wired connection and all your paying for with a dearer modem is its wireless capabillities. Thank you d link Show details
5 days – Like the title suggest, this product is incapable of lasting more than 5 days and i have to reboot it constantly back to its factory setting just to connect to my isp. It is atrocious how that they can sell it as a functional product, there should be an investigation pending. Show details
d-link 2750b is no better than dial up – Got my modem from Verizon, it takes notions to either lose connection every 5 minutes, or work slow with a 20' wireless range. I have to restart it every time i first want on the internet. Avoid this modem at all cost, go to a store and buy a good modem. Show details
Every time I turn off my computers , lt disables my wireless conndction – Had tech online. Connected one computer not the other. Said a computer issue. I eventually got both connected but every time I turned my computer on, the wireless was disabled. I would have to connect to verizon to enable the wireless. Eventually, that dicn't work either. Just returned it. Reconnected h o,d 6100 and it works fine.' Show details
Dreaming about internet – This device is living with its own life, so when we have sunny day probably a good mood of N300 will bring us some internet. Our service guy is already like my sun, I can share some place for him, just do not leave office to provide regular internet. All this is just a joke of course, except that the device is just a crap, not worth!
Expect to reboot daily if purchased – This modem worked ok for first 6 months. Now all my devices drop out. I get gateway 400 errors daily and need to reboot modem constantly to reconnect to Internet. It's a piece of junk. Wish I had the receipt as would take back to office works. Don't recommend buying, it will be a headache.
Got no where with set up after 2 hours – I spent two hours setting this unit up using both the set up wizard and http code and interface with no luck. I received varying time out style messages. I had checked the parameters to my ISP's website and the D-Link webpage. I also checked the two cables and these cables both worked fine with my old DLink modem when I reinstalled the old unit. … Read more
Documentation could be improved (very much plug it, follow the prompts and call your ISP for technical inputs) with some troubleshooting advice.
Trouble with bad support – This router is suppose to be able to accept a printer according to the box it came in and product information on D-Link's Australian website. Finding out how to do this has proved frustrating as the user manual mentions SharePort which turns out to be software NOT supplied. The Internet did not help. I turned to their "support". First called ended… Read more
with no result -the support person was rude and I finished the call. Second and Third phone calls resulted in long waits that were automatically terminated without connecting with a support person. Last attempt was a Chat that was terminated after only few minutes by the support person as I was typing a response to a his question. My final attempt at resolving this issue is to buy a new Modem Router -not D-Link of course!
PS: I have been having issues similar to Rick -thought it must be the internet connection, but thanks to Rick, I think may be the issue is this modem. See "Not worth the money" by Rick
Needs to be rebooted at least once a day – When we first got this modem (supplied by Verizon) for our DSL, it worked fine. We didn't try the SharePort, but did enjoy the faster speeds it offered. Now, six months later we have to reboot it at least once a day. I am currently in a chat with verizon support to have the modem replaced, hopefully with a different model.
Not worth the money – We thought we had various issues with our Internet provider as the modem dropped out or the speed would be slowed to a few kbps but upon further investigation and getting a tech to check everything it was discovered that the modem is a piece of junk! Really we have had nothing but problem with it. To maintain normal speed it needs to be rebooted continuously. I am taking it back.
Garbage indeed – spent several hours using both methods for setting up;the disk kept refusing saving the settings and the web based page 192.xx.xx. kept logging me out, after a few seconds. I was told by a woman from their technical support that this model had a glitch with idle time and had to be reconfigured. I think its very cheeky of D-Link trying to sell this… Read more
model knowing it has many defects.
Fortunately the good people from Office Works had no problem in giving my money back

Know better, choose better.
Garbage – Bought this to replace my 6 year old D-Link and thought i'd give D-Link another go. They are not the same company they once were thats or sure. Setup was painful as it insisted I use the CD to install when it was not even required to do in the first place. I could of set this up quicker typing 192.168.1.1. much faster speed after ditching a 6 year old router Constant 'bad gateway 400 errors' while configuring. Also every night it loses DSL sync
Easy and smart setup – after a fail 2 hours installation of a cheap usa brand router, I decide to buy this router. It only takes me 5 mins to set up, I wish I bought it at the first. It comes with 3 years warranty, 24 hr support, strong signal. I like it very much! easy and smart setup, signal
Horrible!!!! – Modem worked fine. WiFi router worked fine. 4 hours after install could still not get USB port to connect to my printer. Documentation is useless. Installation CD does not contain the Sharepoint software you are supposed to use. D-Link site does not have the latest version of Sharepoint. Downloaded Sharepoint and installed it and it would not… Read more
recognise my Router. It does not behave like the manual says it will. I think I just wasted my money on this piece of....
Terible documentation and on line support
A good wireless router for the price – I used an old Dlink 524U with a USB printer port so I wanted to update to a better router to save energy and get better speed and more reliability. This router seems to fit what I need. I read reviews about it first before deciding it would not be too bad and bought it for $62. The manual is bad like every one said. The web admin interface is… Read more · 1
not so bad but some screens do not match with the manual! The CD start wizard disc is very basic and may not work for many people. One must fiddle with the web admin interface and lookup for help on Internet unless already experience with at least 1 DLINK router before. I got the Internet connection working within 10 minutes. But the wireless did not not work and later I found out that the button at the back has to be pressed for 3 seconds! Why on Earth they turn off wireless by default without telling users! After this, rebooting and powering it down and up all work ok. The settings and last state of the the wireless (on/off) stick which is a relief! This means you can turn off to save power and turn on next day without having to reconfigure or press that darn button to turn wireless on again. Configuring SharePOrt for printing to a USB printer connected to its USB port is a nightmare! Searching the Internet did not help. It does not work like the old USB port on older models like 524U and 624U. The manual is pretty much useless about this. The web interface does not even has anything about it. So this is why so many users complained about the product.
Having said all the negative things, now here are the good stuff and tips
- This router provides much stronger signal than older DLINK routers. This means much more reliable connection and better speed even for wire less B and G mode.
- Wireless N works well. I get 72Mbps in average, occasionally I get 130Mbps connection. This depends on the wireless adapter types. I have Tenda (130Mbps), Edimax 150N (78 mbps)and Intel 5100 AGN (78 Mbps - occasional 130 Mbps). The REAL transfer speed seems to be 4-5 Mbytes/s which is about 50Mbps most of the time. This is good enough for 1 connection doing HD video streaming. The whole single floor of the house is well covered and teh connections are reliable (much better than the old Dlink 524U)
Share port printing actually work! One hasto search Google for "DLINK 2750B download" and get to their website to download Link'in software. Unpack the archive and run it to install the software. Then wonder why nothing works!!! Now go to Windows Control Panel and turn OFF the Windows firewall. Now, teh Link'in software will discover your printer that is connected to the USB port of the router and proceed with setting up Windows for it. But this is still not enough. One has to click on the "connect" link on the little windows of Link'in software to make a connection for the first time. Now Link'in will start to configure the printer drivers (and probably download from Microsoft the right stuff). A few minutes later, all is done and a new printer entry is created for Windows. It can be seen and further configured in Winodws "Devices and Printers" for the right settings, page size, ... This long process has to be done for ALL computers. After that each computer can connect to the shared printer to print ... Then one must release it before other computers can connect. ONLY ONE COMPUTER CAN CONNECT and USE the printer at any time.
The product works! Not so easy to set all things up. The price is cheap enough. Performance is good enough. Work well, good range, good speed and reliable. Hard to set up, documentation is bad.
Doesn't work with Cable Modem – I've given up trying to set this up to connect to my cable modem and use it as a wireless router only. Guy in the shop said it can be done. Dlink email support said it can be done - refer to the manual. Then they stopped answering my emails. Dlink phone support said: it can be done, but the manual doesn't cover it - call them back when I'm in… Read more
front of the PC. I've wasted too much time on this already, so I'm taking it back and buying a different device - not a Dlink.
Didn't do what I bought it for, probably not the device's fault. Poor technical support. Need an IT degree to read the manual.
Excellent – I replaced a G D-Link Modem with an N Linksys Router with the D-Link DSL-2750B and have been really impressed with its performance. When using my tablet 20 meters away I used to get one bar of reception, now with the D-Link its 3 or 4. Also the old modem had to be reset about every fortnight. The 2750 has been running for 3 months and no resets necessary. Excellent coverage and stable adsl. None
USB storage setup - impossible – I've given up trying to setup a USB stick on the router for all network users to see. The manual is totally useless and doesn't even match the screen menus on the web interface. The promise in the pre-purchase blurb of being able to easily setup USB storage is rubbish. The rest of ti seems OK
Easy to set up and good Wifi coverage – I found this a really easy modem to set up- and the WiFi coverage is better than my previous modem- I live in a terrace which has thick walls and it has good reach through out the place. The sync has not dropped one, which I found with my previous modem. Good Wifi, easy to set up, reliable (hasn't lost sync)
Really disappointed with the WiFi coverage – I am really disappointed with the WiFi coverage of this modem. My laptop and mobile phones are supporting WiFi both g/n; however I am not getting the promised N connection speed. The modem has been installed in my lounge room. In the lounge room connection speed showing on my laptop is always between 60-80Mbps (its only 10 feet away from the… Read more
modem). From my bedrooms the WiFi connection speed is less than 40Mbps.
SharePort feature (USB storage) is useless; you can’t share files on your mobile devices or Smart TV. You have to install the SharePort software in your Windows PC or Mac to access files in USB storage. Doesn’t looks bad and small device; Comes with 4 physical LAN port; New firmware update support Ethernet WAN port (NBN network compatible) Very bad WiFi radio coverage; Very bad WiFi connection speed; No 1Gbps port; SharePort is useless feature (can’t access file without SharePort client software installed)
