Been buying these for years and have tried cheaper brands, but those tend to be poorly constructed and leak. I tend to change them every 4-6 weeks depending on the season and I have noticed I no longer have to contend with damp stale smells coming from our somewhat poorly insulated cupboard spaces. Show details

Do NOT use in a vehicle w leather seats – Do NOT use this product in your vehicle if you have leather seats. It sucked all the moisture out and cost me $1075 to replace the leather. ADDED: I filed a complaint w the BBB to get reimbursed. After dealing w 6 different people over nearly 2 years, they denied my claim.

was ick now ok – used that and ones in container. product ate thru the container it came in that tod to use per instructions. It stained my carpet and got all over a closet. I put the rest I had in glassware and around house. I contained them asking can it leech into the glassware? they couldn't be bothered to reply. because I had stoped using it months ago. took down a glassware bowl and the liquid it becomes was still in bottom. Fell into baked dish just spent hours preparing that wouldn't have happened absent not being able to use product they told customer to use. I do not recommend this I talked w Damp rid. They believed the container probably cracked. They advised me not to use th dishes that I had used to catch the spill. They also told me the area rug shhould not be used because the remnants of the product could hurt the floor. It took some back and forth but they offered to reimburse me for the rug (I told them the dishware not worth bothering with) and ultimately we agreed to a small settlement so I still won't buy it even though it may have been fault of company or trucking or store but I found it to be a good product and would recommend it with the caveat check the ocntainer first.

DampRid Hanging Bags are Poor Quality and a SAFETY Hazzard – Several instances of hanging bag LEAKS which ruined leather shoes and damaged/destroyed clothing. Reached out to company; have not heard back. This inferior product is dangerous, as leaking liquid destroys leather and wood floorings. Calcium Chloride can be dangerous. This product should be either fixed from contaminating leaks, or taken off the… Read more

market. I'm considering legal action to recover the hundreds of dollars in damages to shoes and clothing. The owners of this product should vouch for its reliability or make good on the damages it caused. We'll see!

Leaking! – I have used Damp Rid bags for years, but recently had TWO bags to leak their entire contents into my closets. It was quite a chore to clean up the mess. Hoping the company will address the problem and improve the hanging bags, as they have always worked well up until now. Show details

Defective manufacture – I have been a user of DampRid hanging bags for decades. In the last 2 1/2 years, the bags leak frequently even when not fully exhausted, and recently, I found only 2 bags in a box of 3-pack. It is a devil to clean when the liquid leaks, following the instructions. It ruins wooden floors as the liquid is difficult to wipe up (with a cotton… Read more

towel, as the company recommends) because the liquid is hard to absorb. It leaves a shiny and sticky finish on wood floors. When it drips on clothing, the latter is ruined. The company does not respond to e-mails or voice messages left on the phone. I will NEVER buy this product again!

Not what they use to be – I have been buying these for years with great success. Now I have lots of problems with bags leaking and they are not even close to being full. Nasty to clean up. I did call customer support and was told there are plenty of other damprid products to use. Wouldn't even address the problem. Show details

Please do NOT buy it! – If I had known better I would never have used this hanging absorber in my closet. The leaking bag damaged forever the sleeve of my best leather jacket. I am thinking about taking the manufacturer to the court. Show details

WARNING DO NOT USE unless you want to ruin $800 with of leather boots, like we did using DAMP RID – Used this product for ages, bought them in the boxes. Then, used one bag and despite no obvious damage to the packaging and no way the bag was punctured, but was dripping slowly from the sealed bottom. Didn’t take long to distort my husband’s expensive RMW boot. Where the product has dropped onto the side of the boot, it’s sucked all moisture from… Read more

the leather. Thought it was a bad batch and bought another box and not joking it leaked after a week onto this time Western boots from Canada and has completely ruined them where the leather has contracted into a shape that means they can’t be worn comfortably. Of course I didn’t keep the box stupidly, or else I’d be taking the grievance up with the manufacturer. I am not sure whether either pair of boots will be repairable. Makes me sick that this product is still for sale. Something changed sometime for the product to be so bad that other reviewers are putting pans to catch the drips. I won’t do that.

Poor quality – I’ve used these in my walk in closets for many years. Over the last year we have found damaged clothes due to leakage in the bags. Thought maybe the batch was faulty so we tried new ones. Same thing happened but this time all over my silk blouses!!!

Do not use this product – I have a similar account to Rob the Cleaner. I accidentally dropped this product in my walk-in wardrobe. One month later I am still cleaning this alien life force from my floors. It doesn't absorb on to a paper towel or cloth towels. All you do is distribute this fluid evenly around the house.Nothing can clean it. I have read the Kendler Corporation advice on cleaning up and advice is useless. It does NOT absorb onto anything.

Fantastic product - it's amazing how much fluid is created from the surround air – Love these bags. I have been using them for the past year after we bought a double brick house and I was told they hold more moisture than timber framed houses. I had been using them in every room and changing them every 3 months. I was buying them at Costco and when they stopped selling them I was getting them from Bunnings. I now cannot find… Read more

them anywhere. I would love to know where to buy these again as they work really well and the amount of fluid they produce is incredible.

Works so well it's scary – I buy these a lot and I'm shocked at how much moisture they pull out of the air in my closets, in such a short period of time. It makes me shudder to think how damp (and possibly mouldy) my clothes would be without them. The only thing I don't like about them is the fake lavender smell, but I can live with that for the other benefits. I do… Read more ·  3

wish they were more readily available though! I can't order them online and there's only one shop near us that has them. Very effective, inexpensive Slightly cloying perfume, hard to find in stores near me

Don't use Damrid Moisture Absorbing Hangers! – Unfortunately, my wife bought these coat hanger style moisture absorbers for our main wardrobe. Tonight, I was packing my suit bag ready to travel and when I pulled some hangers from my wardrobe the worst thing happened. This bag full of liquid fell to the floor and exploded leaving globules of this stuff absolutely everywhere and over many… Read more

clothing items and all over the carpet. I immediately ran to the kitchen to grab a roll of paper towels. When I tried to absorb the liquid into the paper towels, it didn't soak into them easily. I used a full roll of paper towels and this hadn't done much at all. I then disgarded the towels in the bin. I then realized that this liquid felt like an oily substance (Oh No).

I hadn't realised that my feet had walked this greasy stuff all through the house on the glossy tiles etc and this didn't impress my wife at all. As a result, my wife will have to clean all the floors tomorrow with the steam mop and we will have to pay to have the carpets cleaned. I have strongly advised my wife never to bring this product into our home again, and she agreed. Nothing It is a product that doesn't do as advertised. They want you to believe it does.

Good – DampRid was the perfect solution for us after all the flooding in Brisbane. Even though we weren't affected directly by the flood waters the moisture in the air started to create musty odours in our house. DampRid not only protects against moisture damage in turn preventing mould but it also creates fresher air. DampRid is safe for the… Read more ·  1

environment, non toxic, ok to use around pets and children. It works by absorbing excess moisture into the white pellets, when the humidity is over 60% and dissolving them into a salt solution. Easy to use. Just open and hang inside a medium sized closet or cupboard. They suggested it would last for approx 60 days before needing to be replaced but we found it was more like 20-30 days post the flooding when humidity was at a high. Now humidity has settled they are lasting approx 40 days for us. Available at all good supermarkets. Reasonably priced. Excellent performance. Worked fantastically. Freshened the air and stopped mould and mildew forming. Reasonably priced.
