I was interested in a painting in the last auction and placed an online bid. Davidsons phoned my and asked if I would like them to also make a telephone bid on my behalf. I agreed and waited until 2.30 Sunday afternoon but no call came. I called them and they apologised saying that they had tried to call me. I asked what the painting had been sold for and they said $3500 which was my online bid. I said then I must have won it . However the auctioneer had knocked it down to a room bid for $2500 and had not seem my online bid. I complained the next day and the auctioneer said that he has re-submitted it and the room bidder had increased his bid to $3600. I said that I should have the same chance to bid and increased my bid to $4000 and won the lot but had to pay an extra buyers premium. Davidsons hence mad an additional profit from their "Mistake" not only from me, but from the seller. When there are two conflicting bids of the same amount , it is the usual practice for the first bit to be accepted!! I would have liked them to waive the buyers premium at least. Or even better sell it at the onlie bid

I mad a mistake , he knocked it down for $3500 not $2500 and on attending my office on Monday morning, I found that they had been mistakenly calling my business landline number, not my mobile as agreed
