Decor Speed Busy Mop Damp and Dry Questions & Answers
VerifiedI purchased, on December 14 last year, a grey striped Damp Speed floor cleaning head to replace the blue pad that came with the original mop. I found it very effective - much better than the blue one - and bought another to have a spare. Unfortunately, after around six uses, my first one started to come apart , exposing the sponge inside. I returned it to Bunnings with my receipt and they replaced it, saying it might have been a faulty batch. The second one I bought has now started to come apart, too, after around the same number of uses. I have grey box wood floors and use only Water dampened cloths or floor pads to clean - no chemicals. What am I doing wrong?
I bought the speed misting mop but no matter what cleaning liquid I use, even just disinfectant and water, my lacquered wood floors have a dull film instead of being shiny. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Hi Kim, I only purchased a micro fibre head for an existing mop but on a laminate floor I only use fresh water and get great results. If you know what lacquer product has been used on the floor perhaps check their recommendations as some don't suggest using any harsh cleaners or otherwise including disinfectants. Lacquer is effectively paint so if you wouldn't use any product you have previously used on your car, then I wouldn't use it on your floor either. I.E. never use dishwashing liquid on car paint.
Thanks for that, I'll give just water a try.
Is this an alternative to a broom (e.g. for sweeping the kitchen floor)? Does it actually collect all the crumbs off the floor, or do I need to push the crumbs into a pile and then use a dustpan and brush to pick up the dirt?
It has microfibre and electrostatic properties so it pretty much catches the crumbs and they become embedded into the mop head (so you aren't actually pushing the crumbs around like a broom). The head is quite thick and fluffy so it picks up a lot. The only thing I have found is that if you have dogs or kids that bring a bit of sand in it is easier to vacuum (or sweep) that up first but with crumbs it isn't a problem.
I have a damp décor speedmop blue and dry décor speedmop yellow.
I was told not to get the floating floor boards wet.
Would you have a brochure on the correct use of the mops that could be forwarded to me or a site that explains all?

Donna, I am not a representative of the Co. that makes, distributes or retails the speedmop. You'll have to contact a Co. that would have the info you want. By the way, yes floating floor boards are not to be wet. Perhaps contacting the Co. who installed your floor boards would be a good idea.
How does this mop perform when its needed to soak up water? Thanks :)
Sorry I haven't had to use the mop to clean up a liquid spill. As the pad is rather thin it probably wouldn't soak up a spill of liquids efficiently. Perhaps contacting the manufacturer would give you a better answer.
