This coffee machine is so sexy and good looking. Feels quite well built and solid, despite the slim body. It's a big plus for me, having a coffee machine that takes up a small footprint on the counter top! Love the black finish. Here are my pro's and con's - Pros Easy to use, just the push of a button! Steam wand is easy to use and control. I'm not great at making good froth on any machine hence my froth wasn't as perfect as others. It still has sufficient steam to make a decent froth. Steam wand is easy to clean too. Small footprint, slim build. Solid, quality machine. Good cup warmer, for one cup. Water tank easy to remove, add water and replace. Easy to clean and wash. Drip tray can be removed for taller cups. Hole pricket and spoon was a nice addition, great for cleaning frother. Quality solid metal tamper. Good for pushing down on the coffee. Has two basket sizes for double and single shot. Touch screen makes it look swish and fancy, and easy to use. It's all flush and no buttons and knobs (except for frother switch) . It offers cold brew option.

Cons It's a tad light so the machine shifts a bit when inserting the portafilter. Having a full tank of water helps, but you still have to hold onto it so it doesn't shift. Basket could have a wider lip so it's easier to remove from the portafilter. There may be issues taking the water tank off if you have low cupboards. Steam wand could have a bit more power for better frothing. I'm no expert but I have made better foam with other machines. Foam seemed a bit light and not creamy. Cold brew took a while, just drips slowly. Need patience for this.

This machine is basically incapable of making a cup of coffee without a lot of fuss. If the grind is not exactly right, or if the tamping is not 100% perfect, then the shot will fail - all the lights will flash and then go out, then the steam wand light will come on solid - and the only way to try again is to discard about half a jug of water through the steam wand - then the light will go out and you can try again - but there is a good chance you will get the same result. This is our third DeLonghi machine - the previous two have been great (apart from the odd descaling issue) but this one is complete rubbish. I contacted DeLonghi shotly after purchase and they simply referred me to their repair centres - none near us in the Grampians. We eventually returned the machine to Myers, where we bought it. Myers have a policy of unconditional return within 30 days of purchase, but as it had been 33 days, they refused and the machine has been returned by them to DeLonghi.
