Best coffee machine ever ! – We bought this coffee machine several months ago to replace a Nespresso pixie that had stopped working and we haven't regretted it for a moment. While the price is steep it's worth it, the coffee is fantastic and it looks amazing. We use both the Nespresso pods and a few of the different brands from the supermarket and they all work great. We definitely recommend this machine.  Show details

Really good pod machine – My girlfriend bought one of these and we love it. We fooled around with different blends that fit the machine until we found a couple that we like the best. Then we played around with short and long coffees, 1 pod or 2. The frother is awesome. Bottom line, great machine that makes great coffee  Show details

Perfect machine for real coffee lovers – I had always wanted the machine with steam nozzle but could not afford the full price. So we got it from Myer for sales on Boxing Day and have been using it for 3-4 cups every day. Coffee making: The machine work perfectly and efficiently, I am a heavy drinker so we got the Intenso pods from Nespresso store (70$/100pods). The coffee came out… Read more

with nice smell and beautiful crema, strong taste. We tried some complimentary pods came with the machine and did not like it, too watery and weak for our own preference.

Milk frothing:

The steam nozzle might be a little weak and slow compared to the professional barista machine. But if you give it some time and practise, you can actually froth out the silky milk for latte art (no kidding!). It might take to double time to forth perfect milk compared to professional machine, but it is just like a few seconds longer and it is totally worth it, plus it is easier to control temperature of the milk to your liking.

Cleaning:

Much easier compared to other machine with milk frothers that you have to deep clean after every use to make sure no milk got stuck inside.

Coffee tastes watery and no depth – Experienced the same issue as many others have expressed. The coffee produced by this machine is watery, and no depth in the flavor. Very disappointed as the coffee tasted far worse than the entry models that I have tasted in the Nespresso retail store, and can't get the retailer to refund or exchange for another model.

Awesome coffee with reliable steaming attached – Easy to use and clean with different water volume options for espresso and lungi. We use the podiatrist pods from Harvey Norman which are delicious at sub $5 for 10. Had it for a year and the pressure like all of these machines is intermittent. We descale it every 6 months or so. The frothier works very well and we prefer it over the attached milk… Read more

machines, as we don't drink that much coffee to make good enough use of the milk attachment. With the steam nozzle we can control the temp of coffee better (hotter). Good buy.

Brilliant – Ok a bit expensive so when Myers had them on special I dived in . And very pleased with my new toy. Excellent quality and finish, easy to use and keep clean and the coffee produced is fantastic.

Great Coffee Maker – Bought one of these to replace another nespresso machine i had (Lattissima+). Nothing wrong with the Lattissima but i wanted something more streamlined and less bulky on my benchtop. This is one of the main reasons i went with the new Maestria as there was a steam wand as opposed to a automatic milk frother which reduces the size of the machine… Read more

while still giving me the option of having hot frothy milk.

Coffee is perfect every time, this machine actually warms up quicker than my Lattissima and the little dials on the front that you use to select the serve size are fantastic, keeps everyone happy, way better then the two only preset sizes on my Lattissima.

Steam wand works well, little bit more work than pushing a button on the fully automatic Lattissima but i don;t mind at all, doesn't take too long. Warms up quick, variety of serve size settings, space saver, looks good

Maestria Problems – Two machines from two different stores in two days have same defect. In talking with "Customer Service" a second time, now for the second machine, I am told that this is a common problem with the Maestria only! Air bubble that I won't be able to get rid of. The solution, send it to Nespresso and they will send a loner while they use a small tool… Read more

to fix problem then they will ship it back to me. They can't send me a new machine to replace this one, as "they can't guarantee that it won't have the same problem." Huh??? They must have learned something since yesterday, no one even tried to trouble shoot this one over the phone. Send it to Nespresso? No thank you, returning it to the store. Do not buy this machine!!! Looks great, substantial. It better be for $600. Second machine that doesn't work. Air bubble they say. Need special tool, must send to Nespresso.

Can't get it to work – I brought this machine and can't get it to work...no water comes out. I exchanged the machine and had the same problem. I called Nepresso club and they sent me another machine.....even that one didn't work. I spoke to Nepresso 3 times and they tried to troubleshoot, but couldn't fix the issue, so no espresso.

Great for an instant machine – We bought the Maestria not long after it came out and only after our Saeco manual machine died (after 5 years). Although I think the manual machines make a slightly better espresso, they're not worth the cleaning between each cup (when you're making coffees for a group of friends you're stuck at the machine for ages). The nespresso capsule system… Read more

(although gimmicky) is so handy and the machine start up time is next to nothing. Very pleased! Convenience, quality of coffee produced, cleaning ease More expensive per cup when buying capsules

Be the barista? – Having come from a commercial cafe environment I was keen to get a machine for my small apartment. I was impressed by the Nespresso systems demonstrated to me at the nespresso store. Sure it was no barista made coffee- but it was fun, easy and the actual brews and varieties of coffee were impressive considering. The one thing that kept me… Read more

from buying was the aerocino milk system on the other machines. The worst barista couldn't froth bubblier worse milk if they tried.

I rejoiced when this machine came out with the first steam wand and bought it, despite the hideous colour choices.

I 'brewed' my first capsule, breathed in the nice aroma and then began to brew my milk. Pleased with it so far.

To my dismay they put a horrible plastic 4 way froth end to the steam wand. Making your milk no better than the aerocino variety.

Why in earth they did this when trying to pursue a new market is beyond me!

No matter what I tried, I could not get velvety milk and was very disappointed.

Taking back tomorrow. The capsule system is great The milk frother, the colours

No regrets! – I highly recommend purchasing one of these coffee machines. The price looks expensive but you definitely get your moneys worth. and find them fantastic, with a fast delivery service.

However as these machines get more popular you can purchase you pods from more popular places such as Woolworths and Coles etc.

Great as a gift to someone or yourself.

Looks great - tastes not so fantastic – This thing seriously looks the goods. I mean, it looks absolutely fantastic. Why wouldn't't you want one in the kitchen?.. I thought it migh be the machine but tried the coffee in store and it was the same. Have previously tried lavash a mio machine in a hotel suite I wad I recently and it was head and shoulders above this for quality of coffee...... Didn't look as good, though! Looks, solid construction, was of use Taste, taste, taste

The perfect Nespresso machine – For all those people that have ever complained about their Older Nespresso machine being to cold, to much froth, wrong coffee/milk pour order, can't make a flat white, can't adjust pour quantities easily etc, well this machine has solved all the problems plagued by previous Nespresso machines, and not an Aeroccino in site, and good riddance to… Read more ·  6

that silly milk whisker ;)

This is my 6th Nespresso machine in 12 years, and for the first time, everything about this machine has been perfect.

It's looks are strange at first, but the art Deco style grows on you and you'll fall in love in no time.

Right, being that this machine has a steam wand, I was a bit afraid that it's steaming function would be shared with the same water heater (thermo block) as the coffee heater, and the result would be a waiting time between using the steam function and the coffee pour. But as it seems, there may be two thermo blocks in this machine, once the steaming function is turned on and primed (about 25 seconds) it's ready to go at anytime, and it's good hot steam, not to wet, and once you get the hang of it, it steams well. No need to be a wizard at it, it has a airater attachment on it so it's a point and shoot steamer. Heats a single serve to 70c in under a minute.

Two dials on the front for adjusting your espresso and Lungo pour volumes, espresso 25-60 mls and Lungo 70-150mls.

Dials and buttons here are very well made.

Steam wand has a lever style off-on-steam handle.

This machine is ready to make a coffee shot in 10 seconds from startup, very fast. You have to turn the steam function on separately, but this is beacuse not everyone will want to use the steam function all the time.

1.4litre water container, very large used capsule container and a sufficient drip tray (this could have been a bit bigger, my ONLY gripe) Two little LED lights in the capsule disposal tray are a neat touch.

Beautifully long pod loading handle giving plenty of leverage for ease of use loading pods.

All metal construction, only plastic used is the drip tray (inner part) and the used pod container.

And it can take all different sized glasses, cup and mugs.

Of course being that this has a steam wand, there is a bit more work involved in making your fav milk drink compared to the Lattissima models, but being you are in control of how that milk is now prepared, you have better control over froth and heat levels, but I suggest you buy a milk thermometer so you don't over heat the milk. And forget about the aeroccino, stupid time consuming machine. If you only drink milk coffees, this or the lattissima plus are the only way to go.

This IMHO after being involved using Nespresso since the 90's, is by far the perfect Nespresso coffee machine.

For the energy conscience, it's wattage is 2300 watts, the most of any Nespresso machine to date. That said, this machine heats up fast, and you don't need the machine on for more than 5 mins if making a single coffee.

Oh, and it's makes a coffee shot exactly the same as all other Nespresso machines.

Don't hesitate buying this machine, yes it's a bit more work steaming your milk, but it's worth it, and for those that want to take a coffee with them when leaving the house, this is by far the best machine for making a hot coffee. As hot as you desire!

Highly recommended

Skamp It's perfect, fun to use, stupidly well built, beautiful styling, best Nespresso coffee machine to date. Nothing, cost more than the rest of the range, but hey, you get what you pay for ;)

First one had to be returned but second unit works just fine – To put it bluntly the first unit flooded my kitchen bench after about 2 hours initial use. I was understandably disappointed as I was so excited about buying this Nespresso machine. I guess when mass produced, things can sometimes go wrong. BTW the jug did not leak, the leak came from inside the unit and water poured out through a small hole… Read more ·  2

underneath. Fortunately TGGs exchanged it for another unit and this one has worked perfectly.

I like how you can control the amount of water through the capsule and I don't mind frothing my own milk, my old unit was the same, however the Maestria is much quicker.

Buy local is my recommendation. Styling, affordability, simplicity of use, control over coffee making Sad to say first unit leaked

Fantastic machine! – I just got this as a 17th birthday present a few days ago and already I'm in love! Firstly, It looks amazing, probably the most beautiful coffee machine out there. There's no aeroccino, rather a steam wand that allows you to control the milk heating/frothing process. I much prefer this to an aeroccino, as it's just a small wand that sits… Read more ·  1

vertically on the machine and takes up no space at all - much better than the bulk of an aeroccino, especially for small kitchens.

The whole machine is very well made, and is quite heavy and sturdy. I was expecting smaller elements to be flimsy (buttons, etc) but I was pleasantly surprised to see excellent build quality even in the most minuscule details on the machine.

Its easy to appreciate the little features of Maestria that have been included, like the ability to store any extra cord underneath the machine (no more messy cords everywhere!), the easily removable drip tray and used-pod container, and the fast heat-up time. The machine as a whole is easy to use, however the milk frothing process does require some practice, so I suggest investing in a good coffee thermometer to measure the temperature while you froth, to ensure you get it just right.

The coffee making process can also be customized - there is a selection of both espresso and lungo lengths (controlled by the two knobs on the front of the machine), depending on how strong you like your coffee and/or what drink you are making. The espresso lengths range from 25ml to 60ml and the lungo lengths range from 70ml to 150ml.

Next, cleaning - I always used to look at expensive coffee machines and think "I can only imagine how much cleaning that would need after every single coffee". That's not at all the case with the Maestria! Empty pods are collected in a container in the machine, which only needs to be emptied periodically when the container is full (it holds about 10-14 used pods). The drip tray also only needs to be wiped down every so often. The only notable piece of cleaning is for the steam wand - because it is used with milk, it should be wiped down with a damp sponge after you're finished (the steam-out function of the machine [where steam can be blown out through the wand after each use] cleans the inside of the wand). The wand should also be taken apart and washed in soapy water every now and then to keep it free of any residue or blockages.

Lastly, the pods themselves. I did read a review where someone didn't like Nespresso coffee, so I suppose it's a matter of personal taste, but everyone I have spoken to loves it. I think it's fabulous coffee, and the range of blends (16 in total!) makes it easy to find your favorites. The blends range in intensity from 2 to 10, and when you purchase the machine you receive a little guide to them all inside the information package so you know what blends might suit your tastes and preferred drinks (e.g. Some blends are more suited to milk drinks like cappuccinos, others are better used for espressos, etc). Eventually you find the ones you prefer and its a simple process to repurchase them - ordering online from Nespresso is the easiest way, in my opinion.

Overall, the Maestria is a wonderful coffee machine, I have nothing negative to add. It looks beautiful, is built very well, and most importantly, it makes great coffee. The manual milk frothing with the wand makes it easy to create almost any drink - cappuccino, cafe latte, flat white, espresso macchiato; pretty much anything, and it can even be used to create froth for a hot chocolate if you like. I would certainly recommend is machine to a friend, and if anyone is considering purchasing a Maestria, I hope my review has helped make your decision a little clearer. It's not a cheap machine by any means, but you truly do get what you pay for, and the Maestria is worth every cent! Looks fantastic, easy to use, well built

Mixed – I received this as a gift. Loved it the moment I saw it. Unfortunately, I do not drink milk based coffee. I drink espresso or machiatto only. espresso.

Yes, its a domestic machine - OK - but, hey, they don't miss you for price.

Yes, its pod coffee / mass market - OK - but their marketing hype and buckets of fans had me expecting more.

Everyone who likes milk based coffees seems to really like the coffee from this machine. ANyone wanting straight espresso has agreed. Looks fantastic. Seems good if you like milky coffee, steam wand is very very good for domestic unit. Will disappoint if you like a straight espresso (and have enjoyed good espresso before!)
