Still going after many years! Love it! – Coffee tastes great, quick and easy to use. Excellent for busy work mornings, when we don’t have a lot of time. Milk could be a bit hotter, but that’s my only complaint. Very easy to clean, post coffee, and descaling is just as easy - comes with simple instructions on how to use.  Show details

Great machine - terrible coffee – -Overview- I have had this machine for around 5 years and provided you look after them, used filtered water and descale it is as solid as a rock. It could get a little hotter in my opinion however all in all it is a pretty good package for a simple on the fly coffee. You can put the milk container in the fridge if need be when you are rushing out… Read more

and just give it a quick wipe over and full on the milk section. It can deliver hot water also. This will do everything except grind the beans for you and thats already done by the capsule maker for you. Nespresso is all about convenience and simplicity and this machine is the flagship of that in my opinion.

-Reliability-

I would use this every morning before going to work to have 2 coffees and one for the road, then on the weekend it would get used around 10-15 times a day sometimes more when entertaining. It never missed a beat.

-The Coffee-

But the down side is the Nespresso itself. The coffee is terrible, they just don't taste good or like real coffee. I drink black coffee and the occasional Long Mac. Now a quick coffee with milk is the major market for this machine and it is bearable.

You can get other brands of pods, many of which I have tried, however again they just don't taste that great. I am looking to get the Vittoria pods but I have yet to find them, my Espressotoria machine uses the Vittoria pods are actually very good and cost around the same price.

Having said that, it will make consistently good coffee, find a flavour you like and stick with it for the same coffee day in and day out, you will probably get better coffee than a lot of coffee shops around and its cheaper than $4-6 for a CBD coffee - even if you use take away cups.

Purchasing the pods is annoying as you have to order online or go into the city to buy in store(Perth), I think they are beginning to open more store soon however.

-Would I buy this machine again?-

Yes but not for drinking Nespresso coffee, you can do just as well with a cheaper machine. If I could pack it with my own coffee grounds, it has perfect dosing with a little adjustment and really is easy to make a white coffee fast and for multiple guests. I paid around $700 for this at the time and it was one of only a handful of machines on the market that were all in one (and was super cool to have) but I have now replaced this with the Vittoria Espressotoria Capino/Adesso a $50 machine from Coles (see my review).

-Summary-

All up if you like the Nespresso blends and don't mind ordering online or if your in the CBD you can go too wrong with this machine in my opinion, as I said most baristas don't make great coffee for the price.

Disappointing – I am really disappointed with this machine. It has been back for repairs twice and, now that it is out of warranty, the steam/milk jug section are not working. This is NOT a blocked jet or jug, but a breakdown in the switching. Nespresso ask $150 to have this repaired, even though the machine has clearly been a dead duck from the start. I owned… Read more

a Delonghi (not Nespresso), machine for twelve years before this one with no problems.

For a $500 machine to break down three times in as many years is truly unsatisfactory and will result in my steering clear of Delonghi equipment from now on. Makes great coffee when it works, looks good. Desperately unreliable, poor quality.

Wonderful coffee at a reasonable price. So glad I bought it! – I bought this machine as an early Mothers day gift to myself :). I have one 3 year old and another baby due to arrive any minute. With this in mind I knew that I would not have much time to mess around with a manual coffee machine - I had one which I recently gave away as it has sat up in the cupboard for over 12 months. Making a coffee is so… Read more

quick now, I think I'm going to be drinking a lot more.

I am very happy with this machine & the pods also. There are so many flavours, including 3 decaf options - which is what I tend to drink with the exception of the first coffee of the morning. The pods are amazing (no more messy coffee grinds to deal with), also reasonably priced & delivery time after ordering is quick. Cleaning is super easy. The milk reservoir can be disassembled & popped in the dishwasher.

The water reservoir is a decent size. Even if you are making a few cups at a time & do need to refill its not a problem as everything is easily accessible from the front of the machine.

One tip for making sure the finish product is hot is to warm the cup first, either by running under hot water, or running some of the "cleaning" steam into the cup first, but this is a problem with most machines I have found when making a latte or cappucino.

The only thing I would really change if it were possible is the space to sit the cup when making the coffee, but all small machines seem to make this too narrow for a "normal" sized mug. Inexpensive. Reliable. Love that it comes with a tray of all the coffee flavours to test before buying pods. No grinds to deal with & the machine is easy to clean. Everything is easily accessible from the front of the machine. After having made a coffee water drips from the coffee dispenser sometimes, which isn't really a big deal as there is a drip tray. If using a mug, rather than a small cup, you need to start with a warm mug otherwise the finish product won't be hot - but I have found this is a problem with most machines (even $4000 Miele inbuilt models).

Excellent – These machines are great. very easy to use and the milk frothers are fantastic. The tiny little machines look great sat on a bench and the pods eliminate the need for messy coffee granules that often get everywhere including all over the bench. The pods are great value and can be founs in about 12 different flavours, so theres a bound to be a… Read more

fvourite! I reccommend these machine for anyone who enjoys a good coffee!! easy to use and clean. pods are a tidy way to enjoy cafe style coffee and i think the pods tastemuch better than coffee ive had in various cafes.
