Don't buy this kettle – My husband came home with this kettle which I have hated since day 1. There are 3 major flaws 1. It noisy, if you like the sounds of a steam train in your kitchen buy it otherwise you all have to shout and or put up the TV it is so loud 2. It's not easy to tell how much water is in the kettle due to a poorly designed marker section 3. And this is… Read more

a biggy, if has a metal lid, so if you cook and ever need to boil the kettle more than on e in a row you burn your hand trying to lift the lid off. Shocking design. The 20 dollar kettle at kmart is better

Dangerous unsafe kettle – I first used it and the lid is so hard to take off. The entire kettle goes burning hot - would melt any items if resting near it. When struggled to take off lid, needing more to boil it burnt my hands in large areas I yelled in pain. This kettle has a hollow metal with no inner thermal. Not like the others that are filled up & don’t feel hot from outside. I’m returning it!

Icona kettle leaking after two years – I loved this kettle - such a great design and fab colour - until it started leaking. Just a bit, not worth worrying about. After a while the leak got to the point that I contacted the shop and as it was by then a few months out of warranty they wouldn’t help. I then contacted Delonghi who also stuck to the ‘out of warranty when you contacted us’… Read more

line. Not very impressed. Surely the point isn’t what date exactly it is reported as leaking, but that it does before 2.25years of use? Do they think it’s fine to make a kettle that leaks after a few years? Can’t fix it? Just throw it away? So environmentally unsustainable. Never had such a short-lived kettle. It’s loud but I could live with that. Very disappointed with the throw-away approach; they offered me 30% off a new kettle but if they’re all heading for landfill after two years, no thanks.

Stylish looking electric kettle; a little disappointed – Purchased this kettle as a gift for my mother to replace an old one. She is happy with the look & function of the kettle. The only issue is that the inner lip of the lid started to rust 2 months after use. The rust was all the way around the lid. The photo of the lid shows the rust after it had been scrubbed. In conclusion, a good functioning kettle with poor finishing of metal on lid. Show details

Looks great in my kitchen – Very nice looking kettle that compliments my kitchen well. I got the black version, I believe it also comes in silver and red Easy to clean. Boils very quickly. Lid is removable, not hinged. Show details

Beautiful & quiet kettle – This is our second Delonghi kettle and it’s even better than the first one, we upgraded for a refresh. It boils quickly and quietly and looks beautiful and sleek in our kitchen. Show details

Solid Kettle – Kettle has an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The lid is metal with no plastic on the inside. The water level is easy to read. The kettle boils relatively quickly, although similar to other kettles we have owned. This kettle is quite. There is a small light to indicate it is boiling but this is sufficient. The lid can be hard to remove and put… Read more

back in completely. There are some small scratches after six months of use appearing on the interface between the lid and the rim. Overall decent kettle, so far so good.

Disappointing – Spout filter fell off within a year. Water gauge became inaccurate (kettle would be full but gauge would indicate it was empty). Short time later the kettle just completely stopped working. Looked nice though!! Show details

Stay away from Delonghi – Purchased this kettle in Metallics Azure Blue. Looks great but is so noisy when boiling water. Lid is difficult to pull off and replace after filling kettle with water. Would not recommend this kettle. Purchased matching 4 slice toaster which is terrible as well. Don’t buy Delonghi. Show details

Great product, beautiful design but very loud – We purchased this kettle in 2017 with matching 4 slice toaster. We loved the design and how it compliments other Delonghi appliances (coffee machine). It has served us well for nearly 4 years, however, it is very loud. Aside from that, functioned well and served its purpose: boil water and look nice in the kitchen. Show details

Love the colour! – Looks great. Works well.. and I make about 20 cups of tea per day, so I'm pretty tough on kettles. I've had it a few months now, and it's still going strong. Yeah, the price was a bit high, but still lower than everywhere else. Show details

SOOO NOISY ! WAY TO LOUD – It's a kettle, looks good and works well however it's SO loud you have to stop talking / turn the tv right up when it's on. Definately would not buy another one. My mum also has one with exactly the same issue. Get this kettle is you are deaf lol

Stylish, noisy, slow, rusty and dangerous – The noisiest kettle I have ever owned. Can’t hear the tv or hold a conversation. Cannot use if someone is sleeping! Takes too long to boil. Bottom of the kettle has a black rust within months. Water tastes burned. Difficult to refill. Stiff lid is a struggle. Measure is useless, allowing over boil. Dangerously hot to touch! Cannot believe… Read more

the price! $139 from Myer and I thought it reflected quality! It’s THE WORST kettle I have ever owned. The $20 from Kmart before I owned this one was also coloured red and functioned better.

Matching toaster is terrible too.

Chic looks, fragile design – We bought this in red along with a matching DeLonghi toaster as they were quite stylish but it proved be a big mistake. I'll discuss aesthetics firstly, and the good looks didn't last long before the chrome ring around the lower section began peeling off. Then the black vent on the lid simply cracked in half with one side simply falling off… Read more

exposing bare rusted metal to conveniently burn yourself on every time you try to remove the lid to refill. And that is quite an effort too. It is stubborn to take off and put back on again, as someone else referred to. The water level indicator running along the back is pointless as it never accurately displays the true volume of water leading to more hand burning as I'm left to remove the broken top to check the level.

Apart from the fact that the chrome and plastic (or is it Bakelite?) lid broke, this is one of the noisiest kettles I've ever heard, or owned. I have to turn it off to hear conversation from someone talking to me in the same room, and I have to turn the volume on the TV in the next room up to continue hearing any show I'm watching until the kettle boils and turns itself off.

I could not recommend this kettle to anyone, and I'll be staying away from DeLonghi in future. I guess that'll teach me for choosing design over function (but to be fair, I couldn't do a sound check in the store).

RUSTY AFTER A MONTH – It has taken 2 weeks to get rid of the very tinny taste. Also 3 weeks later the inside has rusted . Taking it back to good guys today as not happy. I absolutely love the look of it and was so excited to buy it but very dissappointed! Going for a different brand. I thought $100 for a kettle was steep and it is if it rusts within the month. Show details

Wouldn’t buy a new one – Loud, very loud for a premium kettle, taste is fine. It’s slower than most, but that’s because of the 1.7l volume, which is larger than most. Had this kettle now for 5 yrs now, average 3 boils a day, but it disappointed me from the very first year for what you would be touting the looks. The chrome started peeling the first year and asked if something could be done about, the staff at the good guys said it wasn’t an issue that could be resolved. Show details

Worst kettle design possible – The lid is very difficult to come off or get back in. When it does come off, the residual moisture trapped in the lid gets everywhere. The water meter does not reflects the actual water level. The last bit of water would never come out without spilling everywhere. The worst is that it takes like 3 times the time to boil the same amount of water with other kettles. The worst possible kettle ever. Show details

Best kettle I’ve ever owned – This is definitely the best kettle I’ve ever owned. The pouring spout is perfect, never spills a drop, it doesn’t leak when boiling, and the water tastes great. It wasn’t cheap, but definitely worth the extra money, plus it looks great in my kitchen (I got the dark blue), doesn’t even show finger marks like most other kettles do. Highly recommend!! Show details

lasts – This kettle has lasted me 4 years!!! And I have tea around 3 times a day. Very impressed with it, except only recently it has started to leak when I tip it to pour water into my mug. Otherwise.. i think it lasted pretty well for a kettle that gets used so much.

Don't judge toaster and kettle by its cover!! – I have always admired De Longhi products but they were a little out of my price range. Last year one of the major supermarkets offered a De Longhi package deal which I could afford. Well, I was really impressed with their beautiful pastel colours instead of traditional silver or black and I thought how well the pale blue toaster and kettle would… Read more

look in my kitchen, so I bought them on the spot!

Here's the judging by cover part; I have always thought that De Longhi was a good brand, unfortunately, the products I purchased quickly turned to disappointment! The kettle spout is too narrow to allow a stream of water to fill up the kettle. I started to use this way to fill the kettle after the lid kept falling into my cup! The lid requires a resounding bang for it stay on.

The 4 slice toaster though is the big disappointment; there are 6 browning settings on the toaster and turning the somewhat tinny knob to 4.5 setting it will still only toast one side and barely the other; I don't know how many times I have to toast the bread twice to get a decent colour.

I have had a $10 jug in the past, the same with a toaster, and, even though they were as cheap as chips, I had more bang for my buck as the expression goes!

Looks nice but noisy – Love the look of this kettle!! The lid is a little hard to remove when filling and the water level feature is hiding under the handle which makes it a little hard to see. The element is hidden but it is noisy when boiling. But it looks smart with its glossy finish. Show details

Slow but reliable – Reliable, stylish and easy to use. I bought the red and the colour is great, I also bought matching toaster. It doesn't taint the water, scale doesn't build up and it works fine with tank water. Lost a star as it takes quite a while to boil. Linger than my previous cheapo supermarket brand, but apart from that I am happy. It certainly looks nice on the bench! Show details

Faulty. The worst customer service. Zero stars – We usually love De Longhi products. Have always bought them with no issues. Until we bought the de longhi black icona kettle. Harvey Norman it was purchased at however, even with proof of our purchase they did not return or replace our product because they couldn’t see the fault we took video evidence of.

We have also tried to contact the ‘customer service’ and complaints for de longhi with zero resolution. The woman we spoke to on the phone was incredible rude and defensive. The behaviour was unbelievable.

Our next step is going through consumer affairs out of principle.

We will never buy de longhi products again because this entire replacement process has been one huge stress and headache.

Pretty but rusting from 6 months on – The kettle spout rusted at its base and the brown peeled around the lid from 6 months onwards. I can’t get in touch with the company? – Not happy, product just over 12 months old - expensive. Obviously high price does not equal quality. The on and off switch does not work. Tried to call someone- no contact numbers - all on line.
