My Revelia screen broke after 9 months which you wouldn't expect from whats sold as a premium product. The warranty process with Deloghni was/is horrendous. 3 months after taking it in for a fix I still don't have my Rivelia back and no one from delonghi seems to know how to resolve. No refund, no new unit, just mine sitting in some repair shop with no resolution. Id never recommend this unit or Deloghni to anyone

Purchased in at David Jones for $1,259.

After only 4 months of owning the Delonghi Rivelia, it now doesn't go full cycle when making a cappuccino and latte macchiato. My machine will froth & pour the milk but instead of moving to the next step of brewing & pouring the coffee, it instead says it needs to cool down & then goes back to the start menu after throwing the untamped grinds into the waste bin. This occurs several times a week or so as we make 3-4 coffees a day & not all the time & you never know when it will occur. It creates a lot of anxiety as to whether it will make a coffee or not. When it did manage to make a coffee, it wasn't too bad although I have tasted better from the Breville Barista machines. When trying to make a cappuccino though, if it does get past the step of brewing coffee, it wont tamp the coffee and instead of hearing the "bomp" sound indicating that it is tamping, it just makes a "clicking" sound. The resulting "puk" is broken into pieces in the bin tray & there is some water in there as well. The coffee tastes quite bitter too. I have lost about $50 aud in coffee due to this issue. My wife reckons it is more than that though. I also really looked after & cleaned the bin after each use. I cleaned the milk carafe & parts at least every few days & I clean the brew group 1-2x a week. I have since returned the machine back to TVSN where I purchased the machine from online with a view to a full refund. I can not recommend the Delonghi Rivelia. My next machine will likely be a Breville Barista Pro. I really hope I never see the Delonghi Rivelia again & if I can not obtain a full refund, I will have no choice than to refer the matter to consumer affairs. The Delonghi rivelia was an awful, troubling & wasteful machine to own & use. I do have a 4 minute video showing the machine not working & tamping correctly but it wont upload to the product review site. The problems with the machine started about 2 months or so ago & I have contacted Delonghi Customer service on 3 separate occasions asking for help & on the first call, I was told NOT to use skim milk & to ONLY use full cream milk & that really upset my wife because full cream milk doesn't agree with her & even though I did try this, it did not fix the issues with the machine. Also that would mean that the machine is not "fit for purpose" because we needed it to also use the skim milk & there is no where in the marketing materials to say only to use full cream milk. It's an awful machine. On the second call that I made to Delonghi Customer Service about 10 days ago, the representative said she would send me out some more beans however this has not happend. TVSN should have my machine now though because I sent it back to them last Monday 15th September 2025 with a tracking number which I have also uploaded a screen shot of to this review site. I've had so many sleepless nights over this machine & the money I have wasted on it as well as a very upset wife. Thankfully 2 or so weeks ago, (it is now 6th October 2025), TVSN did return my money so that is very much appreciated. Delonghi have still not sent me any replacement beans but that doesn't matter. I have since replaced the faulty Delonghi Rivelia with a new Breville Barista Pro & I'm happy with the results.

Purchased in at TVSN (TV Shopping Network) for $1,360.95.

Hello Garry, We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience with the Rivelia and the impact it had on you and your household. That’s certainly not the level of reliability or support we aim to provide.

We appreciate your patience in working through the issue and understand your decision to return the machine. While we're glad TVSN was able to assist with a refund, we're sorry to hear our own service did not meet expectations.

If there's anything outstanding — such as the promised beans or further feedback you'd like to share — please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at 1800 126 659.

Wishing you all the best with your new machine, The De’Longhi Customer Care

Good but not amazing – The coffee machine is good, makes good coffee, and has an overall good build, but it’s not amazing. The Maestosa is a far, far better machine overall and better value for money in my opinion. The coffee out of the Rivelia is fine, sometimes a little bitter and burnt. The default temperature setting burns the coffee and the granularity is wrong, so highly recommend reviewing those settings for yourself. One (silly) thing I cannot stand about this machine is the attempt at giving it a personality. The “cutesy” messaging is passive-aggressive and condescending. It drives me absolutely crazy. It does not need personality; it’s a coffee machine.

Delonghi has work to do – I have given this wonderful automatic coffee machine 4 stars even though there are significant problems which I argue could be easily fixed. This machine is efficient, easy to operate, clean and maintain. It is a first rate coffee machine. The online video instructions are helpful during set up and useful during the first descaling ritual. However, as we live in an era where corporations aim to market products which force customers to return to purchase accessories, means associated problems are inevitable. 4 stars is generous because although the technology is first rate and the ability to change coffee beans is an absolutely wonderful overdue innovation, it does not fully compensate for the problems. Not with the machine itself but with Delonghi customer service and the cost of ordering small essential parts online.

It is disappointing when a retail price is dropped significantly after purchasing an expensive small appliance, as happened to me and worse, the Delonghi website is frustrating to navigate and its customer service section is located offshore.

Delonghi has nailed the milk frothing component however, there is one fault in need of correction. The plastic milk suction tube (pity it cannot be a soft, safe metal) needs to be replaced regularly and ordering it online is not easy or obvious. I have not been able to purchase a narrow enough tube brush cleaner which should come with the machine, as if this component could be cleaned at the same time as the milk carafe compounets, the suction tube might last longer.

In the scheme of things, it is tolerable because the machine is brilliant and I hope this honest appraisal does not put anyone off from purchasing this truly marvelous kitchen wonder.
