9 months old machine emptied water container on our no wet bamboo floor. Long phone call to an overseas call centre today and refuse to replace and are required to box and freight for repair over the Christmas Period. Possible long wait. This is the 4 th Nespresso machine that we have had fail. Unfortunately we are stuck with 6 unused vertuo… Read more
coffee sleeves that cannot be returned. I am feed up with the poor build of these machines and wish to opt out of Nespresso.
Background. We went on a holiday and the hosts had a vertuo (no milk attachment) and pods. I have always ground my own coffee and shot it manually, and I've been very happy and I like to think I have talent... but I was bored. Same coffee every day. A deal came up on TVSN (were they listening to me... ?) for $399 and I couldn't pass it up. The… Read more
vertuo, in my opinion, makes an excellent nice strong black coffee with a great crema and foam that looks impressive in a glass wall cup. Very happy with the available range of full mug blacks. The milk attachment in my opinion is very clever.. it does foam and hot flat milk... but ultimately a vertuo shot coffee with vertuo milk has a distinctive flavour.... it's not a proper shot coffee with your own textured milk. And it's a bit too foamy, even as a cappuccino. You will get used to it, but it is an automated machine coffee. We have also doubled our monthly spend on coffee, but the vertuo is cleaner, makes less noise (important in the morning here), and makes a great black. And there is plenty of choice for black varieties in the pod range, absolutely happy there. You can only get your pods online from nespresso, but man are they quick..3 days max, standard postage, beautifully packed. If you love black, and love variety, this is a great machine and it's been a great change for me. If you love black, then a latissima maybe is not for you. If you are dedicated to milk in your coffee, a traditional grind and shoot where you fly the wand yourself could be a better choice IMHO
We have had two machines in 8 months and both have failed due to the milk frothing not working correctly. We bought this from Nespresso and it while it started out well, within a few weeks the milk frothing stopped working. Dealing with Nespresso is a nightmare and after countless "tests" over the phone, they agreed to take the unit back and send… Read more
out a new one. Sadly, the second unit is doing exactly the same as the first unit. We can actually see the milk dripping inside the milk holder and as soon as that starts, the frothing doesnt work. Two machines later, we have given up trying to deal with Nespresso and have packed the unit back into the box and its on the way to the scrap heap. This is honestly an overpriced and under reliable machine that I wouldn't recommend to anyone and I certainly wouldn't recommend buying it from Nespresso unless you are prepared to waste hours of your life while they "confirm" the problem.
