Waste of money, stopped working after 14 months – This machine is garbage. It stopped working after just 14 months. It wasn’t overused, we made only two coffees a day. Nespresso were a nightmare to deal with. We finally got a replacement machine out of them (after hours of frustrating phone calls to their unhelpful staff) and I fully expect the new machine to die in a year’s time too. I will never buy a Nespresso machine again. Show details

Stopped working after 13 months as it leaked into the electronics – We scored the red ring of death. After stripping it down to investigate the fault, found it had leaked through into the unit and corroded the main motor. As you can see from other reviews these machines are prone to leak and therefore fail. For a $300+ price tag one would expect a much higher quality than this. Steer clear of this garbage machine! Show details

Maxine is great - but if it has a fault you can’t get help - just throw it away – Had the machine for less than a year and loved it. After a sea sling it developed a leak. Impossible to get help to find the fault- Delonghi on line help was a 0 from 5- had no idea and sent me to ‘just answer’ and that cost me money and nobody got back. Such a pity - good machine but may as well throw it away on a fault as there is no service - really disssponting Show details

DONT BUY a Vertuo Plus – 5 months after purchasing the unit it failed to open. Red lights flashing but no coffee, can't even open the machine. Spoke to 3 different consultants, with the usual advice, turn it off, hit it, turn it upside down, let it cool down for 15 minutes!!! Have told to send it to their repair centre, and the wait time for repair is about 4 week! -… Read more

SERIOUSLY! - this should be a direct swap out for a new one if its still under warranty!

Don't throw the packaging away KEEP IT as it will be required for return repair.

Have been a customer for a over 10 years, had an original Nespresso machine that was well used and lasted 12 years! - the Vertuo Plus is rubbish.

Died after 10 months of use – The machine performed fine for about 10 months, and then one day when it started brewing, it just cut out and turned off. We tried turning it back on but it just kept cutting out and flashing red and orange. Show details

disappointed – i have been using vertuo for one year. I used classic nespresso pod machine before for 8 years and to be honest i don't like the vertuo capsules because - too much crema foam - the capsules are not strong / intense at all The machine is not as practical as the previous one. I will sell this one on market place and will go back to old nespresso capsule Show details

Leaks after 3 month – 1. Bought this from Nespresso shop (Bondi) on 26 Jan 2020. 2. The cup holder platform broke after 2 week (Because it was plastic) , the customer service was able to send a steel cup holder platform. ( IMHO the steel version should come as default). 3. The machine started leaking towards end of April 2020. I flush the machine weekly and have… Read more

used descaling pack but no effect. I had to take it Nespresso repair shop (so 2 weeks without a machine). The guy at the shop said this is a very common problem with this line of machine also if you search google you can see many complaints about this model. Problem arise from the coffee blocked at the top of the machine where you put the capsule and then it overflows down the back of the machine (where the used capsules are kept).

The Good: Stylish looking and the first 3 month it was easy to use, and the coffee was pretty good. The Bad: plastic cup holder platform that breaks and the machine leaks coffee after 3 month.

Comment for Nespresso: You have really great customer service, great coffee, and brand, but this machine is negatively impact your brand, maybe stop selling it.

Great when it works – This machine looks superb as well as making an excellent cup of coffee. I’m not a heavy user and would perhaps make 5 cups or less weekly. BUT, I have now had 2 major problems. First machine was replaced at 12 months as it wouldn’t reset after scaling, rendering it unusable. Now after 6 months my second machine has developed a significant leak and… Read more

is going back to Nespresso for repair/replacement with an estimate of 17-19 working days. Not great reliability or service. I’ve been a Nespresso fan for years and the earlier pod machines never gave me any significant problems so I don’t think I’d recommend purchasing a Vertuo machine at this time.

Easy to use coffee maker – Makes a great cup of hot black coffee with excellent crema Simply to use with only one button to start the coffee making process. The descalling process can be a bit confusing and you need to refer to the online video each time to work out the button pushing sequence and the process can take a while Show details

Minimal mess, easy to use and great coffee! – This machine uses new technology which reads the barcode on each capsule and knows how much water to extract based on the type of coffee you want to make. For example, the larger capsules make a mug size coffee. The smaller capsules enable you to make either an espresso shot or a latte (if you have a milk frother). The machine spins the capsule to… Read more

extract the coffee in a way that results in a beautiful crema. It looks as if you've frothed milk but you haven't. Meaning, you could have a black coffee but still have that creamy finish to it. Or you can add 1-2cm of milk to the bottom of the cup and end up with a mug of coffee which looks like you've used a frother but you haven't. There's so many options! There's a huge water tank at the back which means you can make several coffees without haven't to constantly fill it up. The only thing you need to clean is the drip tray. And a milk frother, if you use one. The Vertuo can be bought with or without the frother. There's only one button to push on top, which makes it simple to use. It's also really quiet to operate. The other thing I love about the machine, is that it spins the capsules dry, so you aren't left with a wet mess in the capsule collection bin, unlike the other machines which use the original capsules. The capsules themselves are made from 100% aluminium, which can be recycled over and over (either through Nespresso or one of their drop off points eg at a florist). Which is great for the environment. I'd highly recommend this machine. It looks expensive and suits my kitchen. And it doesn't take up much room either (the tank swivels 180 deg).

Great machine for coffee lovers – After replacing my original machine with the Vertuo plus I was amazed at the ease of use, I loved how easy it was to assemble the manual was easy to read and understand. Instructions with pictures detailing how to clean and use the machine were great. Came with 12 selected coffee capsules to try. Each coffee variation is barcoded so you don’t have… Read more

to do a thing other than place the capsule in the machine and press a button the machine reads the barcode and pours the right amount of water for that capsule. However if you prefer more or less water you’re able to reprogram that yourself just but holding a button. It’s fun to use with an amazing variety of coffee to try I wouldn’t want to use anything else

Wish I had got it a long time ago! – We had just replaced our Nespresso pod machine at the same time these came out so I didn’t bother. How stupid I was to wait! Whilst buying pods we were shown this product and the coffee was outstanding. We left the Nespresso shop and decided we didn’t need one. Went to Costco and they were selling these babies much, much cheaper! Definitely a… Read more

sign. Now I can’t live without it! As a black coffee drinking, the coffee itself is not only smoother but a much bigger and better cup. I wouldn’t go past it!

Customer service is dreadful – The machine packed up. I called Nespresso technical helpline on 20 May and was told they would collect it and give us a loan machine. A courier arrived 2 days later to collect the machine, minus the loan machine. I rang Nespresso to find out when it would arrive, the agent apologised and said there has been a mix up in the paperwork and a loan… Read more

machine would be sent immediately and delivered within two days. Two days later no loan machine. Another call to Nespresso - apologies it hasn’t been sent will do so will be there early next week. Call Nespresso when the machine doesn’t turn up: more excuses will be looked into and call back. Meanwhile I am living with a grumpy husband because he can’t have his morning coffee. On 31 May I call again and speak to Lee who says he will investigate. Eventually Angel calls and I repeat the story for the 100th time - apologies she will investigate. Angel calls back and says sorry no machine sent, she will arrange one and call Monday to confirm delivery date. So Monday arrives and I call the 02 number assuming I will get Sydney and there is a time difference I need to be aware of. The number however takes me to its New Zealand service centre. The agent says please stay on hold and I will call Sydney - outcome is Nespresso will not be sending a loan machine but will prioritise the repair of mine. I said prioritise? You’ve had it since 22 May: ah yes says the agent but it was sat in the depot and wasn’t delivered until 30 May! So still no date as to when ours will be returned! Do Nespresso even have loan machines or is it an advertising con?

Why did I wait so long!?!? – I LOVE this coffee machine. I'm not a big fan of espresso so to have a pod machine that makes mug sized coffee is brilliant. It's so easy to use and makes no mess, no fuss coffee with a lovely crema at the push of a button. Cleaning is a breeze and also done with the simple push of a button. The used pods can easily be popped in a recycling bag… Read more

sold by Nespresso for 20 cents and dropped off at one of their many recycling locations when full. I've tried most of their coffee in the Vertuo range and love all of them.

The only things I'd point out for people considering buying this machine is that it reads the barcodes on the different sized pods to work out which size coffee to make, from espresso through to alto, so you can't use third party pods in it the way you can with other Nespresso machines. The coffee comes out nice and hot but not too hot to drink straight away, so if you add milk to your coffee you'll probably need to pop it in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds.

Also, I got it on sale for $229 but there was an additional $80 cash back offer that came with it, bringing the total price down from $299 to $149, so keep an eye out for offers if you don't want to pay full price!

Easy to Use – I like drinking long blacks and this makes a better long black than the other 'capsule nespresso' system. Not quite the long black you are used to - it has a lot of crema but it's not the watery mess that the capsule pods make. To get anything this thick and strong you'd need to use two capsules each time. Easy to use. It's about 85% as good… Read more

as a coffee from a cafe and 25% the price. Also you don't have to go out to get a good coffee.

I really love this machine and can't wait to get out every morning so I can make my first coffee with the Vertuo machine.

I also have started making a decaf ice coffee when I get home from work. Delicious!

Cant believe it – Initial start up meets the faulty machine, just plug in then power up to open the machine head with pushing the lever up, and it automatically opens in an electrical mechanism, fill up water, place a pod in, afterward it stays open forever not even to make a cup of coffee. Whatever followed the instruction manual to solve it for an hour, it still remain the same, then I return it.  Show details

Fabulous Coffee and Great cup size choices – Was a little wary of this. Been using the Latissima for a long time and love Nespresso Coffee. Wanted this as machine was dying and time to replace and larger cup sizes was appealing. Disappointed that they didn't offer the coffee i was used to, but a whole new range. Took a while to figure out the right volumes of milk but now i have it, i LOVE… Read more

it. The coffee range is fabulous, already got new favourites, especially the double espresso. Temperature is a litlte hotter than the latissima, but a temperature control would make this a perfect machine.

The largest cup size is 440ml (not including milk) which is great to go in a thermos, somewhere between the mug (230ml) and the grand lungo (150ml) is the absolute perfect size for me. While you can't program the water levels, you can stop the flow to get it just at the levels you want..

Beautiful replacement – I bought this new machine when my other one died. Took a bit of getting used to, but now I love it! Much quieter than the old one, and while the pods are different the coffee is still wonderful. Also got $50 cashback offer. The water tank is much bigger and I’m glad I kept my milk frother. All in all; very pleased with my purchase.  Show details

Very impressive machine – The main reason I bought this machine is that I love a big mug of coffee and this machine delivers on that requirement. From small espresso shots to huge 414ml "jugs" of coffee - it has all bases covered. The machine itself looks classy and very well built - top quality all round. The grey/titan colour is stunning and it takes up very little… Read more

room on my bench top. The fact that you can adjust which side of the machine the water tank sits is also a great feature. The barcodes on the pods mean you don't have to select what size coffee you are making as the machine reads the barcodes and adjusts the pour accordingly. Very easy to use and a simple cleaning procedure. Manuals outline instructions very clearly. There are a huge variety of pods available from Nespresso and I love that the capsules are recyclable. The coffee that this machine makes tastes fantastic. Big variety of flavours and the coffees I have made have all had a lovely crema on them. My only gripe would be is that you cannot adjust the temperature of the coffee but Nespresso say that is because the machine is set to the optimum temperature for the coffee blends. It also seems a bit odd that the part of the machine under the spout is not concave like on most machines - this means that your mug/cup sits forward of the cup holder base a little. Not a huge problem but given this machine makes huge mugs of coffee, not the best design. But overall, I am very happy with my purchases and would recommend this machine to anyone after a good cup of coffee in a wide range of sizes.
