I was disappointed with the service and the Seller was trying to tell me that if I don't spend $150 to clean the guitar then the child will be in hospital next week! the guitar was just dusty and was on top of the wardrobe for a decade! Where would the Ebola come from? dust? there is no need to use scare tactics for the parents to spend more money!

It seems customers are an inconvenience – Since about 1989 I've been dropping in to the Forestville store occasionally. No matter who the staff are, the experience has always been the same. cash to buy it, I was playing it and a staffer walks past and tells me it's over 5 grand, I hadn't even asked, he just volunteered this piece of information to me. Online price was around 3.2K, ticket price something else again. I walked out and bought a different Martin somewhere else. It's amazing how consistent the experience has been all this time, customers are just an inconvenience to these guys. It was much the same back in the hire shop, and in the city store when I once went there too.

Great customer service – Staff are great there. Email queries about the stock in store are answered promptly, and when I called up to verify the in store pricing, had a very good chat with the same staff member that answered my emails. Great customer service and I got the products I wanted at the best price. Show details

Big range, quality gear, great after-sales service – I initially left a bad review for the customer service I received. The worst possible customer service I've ever had! – One of the worst customer experiences I've ever had.. The staff are clueless about their products, I purchased a Rode Wireless Go 2 external mic and it appeared to be faulty from the moment I opened it, as there was a lot of scratching noises. staff there tested the mic with their mobile and confirmed the same issue. They then proceeded to say it would be a "warranty" claim where they would have to call Rode to see what to do next. I was really unhappy about this, as technically speaking, under Australian consumer law I'm entitled to a full refund or exchange if the product never worked to start with.. I simply just wanted a product that would work from the moment I purchased it! I then asked to talk to the manager, and while the staff member went to get the manager, I connected the device to my laptop to see if it would do the same issue, I did more diagnosis and did a firmware upgrade.. which suddenly made it work. Another staff member, upon noticing started to give me awful remarks, saying "just get out of here, we don't need your business, you owe us an apology, loser".

Let's assume I was wrong.. does this really warrant the store to call their customer a loser??!

The manager eventually came and I explained what had happened.. he was pretty calm but even after I had explained what had happened, I didn't get a single apology.. and he was in denial that his staff member called me a loser. I simply told him to check the security camera footage, if he didn't believe me.

I felt humiliated and I will never go back there again. What an awful experience!

Fender Rumble Bass Amp – I am very happy with the service I received at Derringers Music. I bought a bass amp, kept it a couple of weeks before I realised it wasn't what I wanted. I rang the owner (Peter) & asked if I could swap it for another. He didn't hesitate, and said "yes". I took it back and was pleasantly pleased with the young guy that served me. Well done Derringers. Online Advertised Price not Honoured – It's happened twice now where products have been advertised online at a certain price and upon calling the store I've been told "It's a mistake. We can't sell it at that price". It's called price baiting. Also they don't match let alone beat competitors prices as they claim and staff can be arrogant.  Show details

someone about the "Price Challenge" but not only did they refuse to beat the price, they didn't even match the price. The item was being sold for $20 less at another store which could also post the item without charge so I bought from them instead. The excuse Derringers gave was that they only had two of the items in stock and they were confident of being able to sell it at their advertised price. So in other words, they wont honour their "commitment to you at Derringers Music" because they are sure some other sucker will pay full price for it.

I've purchased musical goods from other stores in Adelaide and I shop around plenty. Derringers are consistently more expensive on most of the items I have looked at, so they are at least correct in saying "We never sell for retail!" - They sell above retail!

Exceptional Service and very happy with the price of the product – On the back of a fathers day gift voucher for Derringers, I decided on a Boss Blues Driver Effect Pedal. for another retailer and they have it in stock we can match it". Outcome: A very good online price was found by Fenton and they matched it. Result: One happy dad and owner of a Boss Blues Driver Pedal and the out of picket far less than it could have been. Well done Fenton and thanks Derringers.
