Dick Smith Turntable and Radio
Verified1 review
Love the old stuff – For many years I've wanted to play my old vinyl LP records but had nothing to play them on so they stayed stored away in a box. This was until I saw this turntable advertised by Dick Smith which I thought would suit my needs. The price was only $34 and it's nothing fancy, but was definitely better than I thought it might be. It won't convert the music via USB to MP3, it just plays the records, both LP and singles, via it's built in stereo speakers and also has an AM/FM radio. When the record finishes playing, you have to manually lift the arm back to it's rest as it's not automatic - not a problem really.
There are two rotary control knobs on the front, one for volume and one for tuning the radio plus there's also a headphone jack. On the back, there's a line out socket to connect to another stereo system therefore bypassing the onboard stereo speakers I presume. I've never used it while connected to another system as I've found the sound quite acceptable.
It may not be great quality for those that are more discerning, but to hear all my 60s, 70s and 80s music again has been really great. You just plug it in and away you go.
