Disappointing Experience - Misleading and Poorly Organized – I was really looking forward to DigiMarCon Sydney after reading the list of topics they claimed would be covered, but unfortunately, the event was a huge letdown. The communication leading up to the event was vague and unclear. They shared an exciting list of topics that would be covered, but it turned out to be more of a "maybe" list rather than a definitive agenda.
Despite registering and paying for a Virtual Pass, the login details I received didn't work. I had to access the sessions as a guest, which made me wonder—did I even need to pay? Could anyone just join as a guest?
The technical issues were another major frustration. During the first session, there were audio problems at the venue, and when they switched microphones, the stream had no audio for most of the session. The quality of the presentations was also disappointing. Most speakers were bland and felt like they were giving lectures on basic marketing principles rather than offering fresh, actionable insights. There was only one speaker who gave valuable tips on social advertising.
To make matters worse, I still haven’t received the promised link to access the session recordings, despite it being over a month since the event. I’ve reached out multiple times with no response.
This event had so much promise but delivered very little. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone considering attending in the future.
Not worth the price – I went to a DigiMarCon event in Melbourne. Overall, it was trash. It’s not worth the price tag. Half of the presenters are selling something. A few presenters were called in last minute. Content-wise, 90% of the information I already knew. It was a small event with 6 booths and about 60-ish people. The primary benefit was the opportunity to network. It would’ve been okay, if they marketed themselves as a small event, and priced themselves accordingly (like a third of the cost).
Small, disappointing conference – The audience turnout was very small. The content was very basic. Audio and video problems seemed to plague the event. Nothing seemed well organised. I felt misled by the digimarcon website, which suggests that it will be a big conference.
Great Venue But Disappointed In Quality – Pretty disappointed in the overall conference. The "Advanced Workshops" were extremely basic and we left the whole conference with maybe 2 or 3 takeaways from the 2 day event. Upset to see the lack of technical expertise at this conference considering the price tag. Almost everyone was showing you how to use Chat GPT... Next time maybe invest more in your content & speakers rather than a fancy venue.
