or so I thought. • The rough in begins , all supports placed in the walls for the vanity and tall unit, nothing installed to support the mirrors, toilet positions changed and roughed in with new water connections, black and red water lines installed. All completed at break neck speed. • Tiler arrives all sheeting completed after the Electrician completes his rough in, so far so good on time and on track . • Lets begin the start of what seems to be a never ending disaster, the plumber arrives to start the install, 1 week late with no communication of course. • Sets the vanity up down stairs 150mm to far to the left and managers to hit the rear stainless leg on the vanity which meant the pipe was exposed and visible, he also drilled the internal shelf in the wrong position with a blunt hole saw. • The repairs begin, plywood cover had to be made to cover the exposed pipe with the tiler covering it with tiles to blend in with the wall tiles, I also bought and cut a new shelf to replace the damaged shelf. • Spoke to the plumber about the mistakes he thought I was being fussy, what a moron, I should have known. Upstairs we go to the next bathroom, late again to site with no communication, this guys word means absolutely nothing. Now remember I’m on site the whole time to answer any questions ie where things are positioned on the install and don’t forget this guy had a clean slate and has completed the rough in, so clearly should know where things go. So after a little while I head upstairs to see how the installation is going, I take one look and can see the vanity has been install in the wrong position some 500mm to far to the right with no allowance for the tall unit, the plumber has also turned the back of the cupboard into swizz cheese because the supports have been installed to high, now don’t forget he installed the supports in the first place, so there goes the back of the cupboard and 4 wall tiles, the plumber suggest we just move it and silicon the holes in the damaged tiles. The tiler turns up and replaces the 4 damaged tiles, the plumber agrees to replace the back of the cupboard, so here we go again the plumber doesn’t arrive on time in fact he arrives 2 days after he said he would be there, however he forgot the replacement back of the cupboard, so off he goes again, turns up next day but is late of course because he needs to pick up glass for down stairs, finally the vanity is installed in the correct position, then off he goes again. I decide to check the install and find that the vanity drawer has been jammed into the closed position, this takes me 2 hours to remove from the vanity, now understand I am a cabinet maker by trade. More troubles found, the plumbing has been placed in the wrong position with the drawer needing to be modified to be able to close, the pipes are also leaking, here we go again, lets just wait another week for dumb dumb to return after I modify the drawer. The final day arrives at least a week later dumb dumb and his team arrive, the vanity mirrors and toilet are finished off, they leave I check the toilet and team dumb dumb have installed in 20mm off the wall, note the walls and floors are level. I call team dumb dumb with no response, fast forward 3 months with no contact from dumb dumb and we now discover they have plumbed the toilet up to HOT WATER. The tiler has been great and has arranged for a new plumber to rectify, but seriously how pathetic is dumb dumb.
