Pushing sales for massively inflated services. Charged $3000 for ‘unblocking’ drain and quoted &$16000 to fix broken pipe. Turns out when i got someone else they hadn’t evem cleared the roots. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Scam, unable to find QBCC licence for this company. You call their number and you are put through to a call base. There initial fee of $719 call out assessment for less than 1 hours work. deeper search highlighted this company has Thousands of complaints in NSW and the Prestigious Plumbing PTY LTD has only been in operation since Oct 2025. So will only be around for 6-12 moths before shuting shop and starting under new umbrella company. Please look else where
Got caught with a pinhole leak that when I realised what it was became urgent as it had been leaking for around two months. Useless meter didn't show any usage after taking readings two hours apart. callout fee before even looking at the job, then after borrowing my tools (Ozito flood light and rotary hammer drill) looked at the job. ("Professional plumber carried his tools in a clear PLASTIC bag...I would have twigged if the meds were working) Quoted $6,138 which I refused. I thought from previous quotes for other items I wanted done it would be around $1,500 to $2,000 so I said NO and then the hard sell was applied. I was in pain, meds still weren't working and I folded and agreed to $4,300 but it was 10% before starting and he still borrowed my tools. Took THREE hours (after sitting in the driveway for 50 minutes) to remove 11 bricks and replace an 11 inch length of ½" copper pipe and a cheap tap (pressure fitted) and then I later found when putting the bricks back he cocked that up. One brick sticks out because the pipe didn't have a tight enough bend and I didn't want the copper pipe to be touching the brick and failing again. Took me less time to put the bricks back than it took to smash them out and I have never done brick work before. Really only needed 3 bricks removed to get to the leak.
NO written quote or proof of work. "Office will send that out" and of course they didn't. All I have are the receipts from his EFTPOS machine with company name on it.
The images were after I cleaned out the broken bricks and mortar that he left behind. Should have taken a photo of that. Used hand tools to avoid damaging the pipe after I saw what he had done in the bottom right corner of the DAMAGED pipe. Copper no longer shiney due to three months it took me to recover enough to brick up the hole.

out in less than an hour. We supplied the hardware. When I got the bill to pay her back I was made aware of the exorbitant cost and interesting that she would contact and use a company called Prestigious Plumbing. After some research I found that Dans is part of Prestigious. I then asked for justification of the price for 1 hour of work and for an itemised bill which came back with: $235 to turn off the taps under the sink. $286.76 to install the tap. $150 to turn the taps back on. I successfully (after much back and forth with phone calls and emails) had the price reduced by way of refund to the $286.76 which is still expensive IMO but close to acceptable.

Sad to see this predatory behaviour in the market. A clear company directive to charge way over the market rates and see who you can get away with ripping off.

I had called Dan's Plumbing on Saturday 20 Dec 2025 to fix my leaking Shower as the Shower Tap/Mixer was broken and the water won't stop so I had to switch off my mains. When the person from Prestigious Plumbing Pty Ltd came and visited me I was quoted as astonishing $1350 +GST to fix the leaking shower tap (Only Replace the internal cartridge - Not the whole Shower assembly). I was offered a 10% discount too when I mentioned that the amount is too high. I asked for a quote to be emailed to me which I was refused and was told I can see the quote on their Ipad. The person from Prestigious Plumbing tried to convince me to go ahead with the quote and the job given it is Christmas time and I will not get any plumbers to do the job given everyone will be going on holidays due to Christmas and I will only get emergency plumbers who may charge even higher. I ended up getting a licenced plumber whom I paid $385 + GST and the job was done in 45 minutes (and that too the next day on a SUNDAY). I luckily hit on the Current affair news article about this company this morning and hence I am reviewing this business as everything mentioned in the Current Affairs appears to be true. toilet. Toilet unblocked easily with a suction tool. Absolutely rip off. I know other plumbing companies that do this work and use inspection cameras for around 500.
Follow-up · They explained cost to elderly people that don't know how things work or how much work of this type usually costs, this type of blockage should only be about 400 to 600, the going rate for any reputable company. The blockage was minor and easily removed with very little effort or tools. They used a suction tool and a chemical only which costs around $30 from what i could find about it online

for a few minutes pumping my toilet. The problem is not resolved. And they required my signature on several forms absolving them of future obligation or consequence should their service be ineffectual or make things worse. I’m a disabled person in no position to decline, and they haven’t replied to my complaint. I advise people to look elsewhere.

to $500 for a 'service'. I said no and paid the callout fee of $54. I immediately rang another local plumber who came out a day later. He fixed the leak in minutes and charged my $132. What is going on??? Very suspicious!
Follow-up · I was told by Dan's/Prestegious that I needed a whole new tap system for $1000 but only actually needed new washers. New plumber was great, quick, no dramas. Now in a different house with new, different plumbing dramas!

Despite paying them upfront to jet blast and clear the sewer line of roots, they pulled up my toilet, did a quick blast and never provided me with a written quote for the secondary works I need to fix the problem. I texted repeatedly to get the quote but none was ever sent. They are rip-off merchants and will tell you anything to get their hands on your hard earnt cash. Guy was desperately worried I was going to get other quotes, and so he should have been. His quote given verbally (for the secondary works) is three times the price of another plumber I eventually found who was decent and honest.

Robbed.. Always check the 1 star reviews. Just read those and they summed up our experience. Happy to pay for great service. Unfortunately Dan’s falls short. The red flags were there. The plumber who turned up doesn’t even work for “Dan’s Plumbing”. No invoice provided.

I was quoted $1452 to investigate a leak in the shower that took 30 minutes. I ended up paying $1852 after paying for the call out fee+gst, deposit+gst completed work+gst. After reseraching a simple job like that should only have cost $600. Beware of the scam!!!
