I can get no engineer to look at t. Do u have someone locally here in Adelaide I can use.
Hi Angela, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not supply spare parts for this model so therefore we do not have repair agents. Please contact a small electrical appliance repairer in your area and they may be able to repair it for you.
How do I change our 15RC dimplex from cooling mode to winter heating mode. Lost manual.
Thank you
Bruce
Hi,Thankyou for your question you can download the manual at Dimplex or turn the machine around and place the vent where the pipe came and the pipe where the cool air .
Hi Bruce, Please contact our Customer Care team on 1300 556 816 and we can either post or email a copy of the manual to you.
Hi, can anyone tell me what does "ft" means on LED screen?
I am also facing the same problem. Please help us if anyone knows about "Ft". and how to solve.
Hi
Our dimplex DIM15RC portable air conditioner keeps saying E4 after 20 minutes of use and fills up with water. Any ideas?
Hello, Thankyou for your question the machine has to be empty of water before use. I empty my machine daily before use.
Does this need a hose for cooling only and is it very noisey?
Hello, Thank you for your question. No you don't need a hose it comes with a small tray which you use to empty the machine. Do this daily when using as the machine storage bottle is more than the tray can hold. The machine this as noisy as a window or wall mount system, If you don't like the noise look at a split system.
do they need to be re gased?
Hello, Thank you for your question, I can not say if they need regased that a question more for a maker of the machine.
Hi Lloyd - Please note that a cooler would normally only need re-gassing if there was a breach in the sealed system. That being said, gas levels/ pressure can certainly be tested by someone qualified to do so.
However, If the unit is not operating correctly or no longer cooling sufficiently, there may be an alternative reason for this.
Please contact our Customer Care team to receive details of an authorised service agent in your area to arrange assessment of same.

Hi, my dimplex dc15rcbw model came with a water catch tray, but the manual doesn't say where to insert it???
Hello, thank you for your question. You place it under the bottom outlet you will see it fits under the than you can pull the plug out. I place a towel under the tray when doing this as it's to small for the tank size. Do it daily is the best way and make sure the plug it put back in it will leak. buy a plastic drip tray at a Auto shop to make sure. Thank you
Hi i received my unit yesterday and it worked fine during the night. Now at midday i find that the unit keeps shutting down by itself. I know that it shuts down when its overheating, but any idea how to prevent this? I've ready that peiple are avle to use the cooling even when outside tenp raises up to 40 C
Hello, Thank you for your Question, No, it is built in safety for the machine. So it is not damage.
i have a portable dimplex air condition
is it better to elevated to the normal height so that cooling works better?
YES, You should use the machine as it normal operation, read the manual.
Hi, I bought my Dimplex DIMC15RC portable air con in Feb and it worked great for cooling during summer. Now I'm wanting to use it for heating and on page 3 of the manual it says "When heating or dehumidification functions are used the upper drain plug myst be removed and a drain hose attached."
Was I supposed to receive a drain hose with the unit? Can I still use the heating function without one? If a hose was not meant to be included in the box, where can I get one?
Thanks in advance
Maree
Hi, No the hose does not came in the box. Bunnings or local hardware shop, just measure what you need or a small lenght with a old 2lt milk bottle on the side. THANK YOU
Hi there Bujgirl - the drain hose is not included with the accessories supplied as each installation will require different lengths. We would encourage you to visit your local hardware store and purchase a length of 16mm vinyl tubing to fit to the port in order to drain away the water removed from the environment during use. Please do not use the unit on heating mode without the hose fitted as this will adversely affect the performance of the appliance and may cause damage. Should you require further assistance in relation to the use and care of your Dimplex appliance, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care team by phone: 1300 556 816
can get hose from hardwear store
Hi our DIMC15RC is continuously blowing hot air and compressor doesn't want to kick in was working fine and then all of a sudden started blowing hot air. It's on cool setting. What can we do ? It's over 40 degrees outside and pretty much the same inside due to the air con blowin out hot air !!!
Same! Our has just run out of warranty and blowing air that isn't cool... did everyone's die yesterday?
Same!
I have the same problem!
Hi Ebony - if your product is within 2 years from the date of purchase, please return to the store to receive a replacement under warranty. If your appliance is older than this, please contact our Tech team by phone: 1300 556 816 to discuss further options.
Hi, I bought a Dimplex DIMC15RC portable air con yesterday and have a couple of questions.
Do I change the fittings so the dehumidifier works from the hot end or keep it at the air con end?
The dehumidifier doesn’t maintain the room temperature. I don’t want to heat the room up, I just want to extract the humidity. I need the room to remain around 25c and the humidity to drop below 50%. It’s at 65%.
Any information on how to work the dehumidifier would be appreciated…
My main concern is the machine its self gets so hot that it’s dangerous for children to touch. The machine is acting like a heater (I’m not referring to the exhaust here) while the air con is supposed to be cooling the room? That doesn’t seem right to me and makes me think I have a dud machine. Is this normal?
This is a bring back issue, as much as I do not want to return it…This machine should not be so hot that I can’t touch it. That is a major safety issue…
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers…
Hi, Not really sure. All I can say is that when we have used the dehumidifier function it should be set up as it would be for Air Conditioning. The only difference being that the dehumidififier mode is selected instead of pure Air Conditioning. I think its the triangle symbol.
We've experienced the unit getting hot as well on occasions though that was because the exhaust piping seemed restricted due to placement and positioning.
its very important to ensure the exhaust piping is not curved to much or over arched.
Also make sure the inlet filter is not restricted with i.e. up against the wall etc.
Furthermore I believe that the exhaust vent converts to heating when used in a reverse cycle manner which we don't use (or reverse the venting).
If it's getting really hot to the touch it would definitely be wise to take it back or get in contact with Dimplex themselves they would definitely know best.
Hope that helps.
I fixed the overheating issue. I had the exhaust duct screwed too much into the machine, causing bad airflow. It still gets warm but it’s not hot. Huge difference! I’ve played around with the dehumidifier and still not satisfied. I can’t control the temperature. It’s working like an air con. It uses a ton of electricity and makes the room to cold before dropping the humidity any more than a couple of precent.
In the end, I just used the air con and put it on 20c – 23c. That worked but now I’m wondering, what is the difference between the dehumidifier and the air conditioner, besides the DH not having temp control?
Why doesn't the manual show what every icon means and can you show us please...I have read the reviews...just still unsure? EG all icons on left?
Just purchased a second hand DC15RCBW one in great condition!
Thanks
Michael
Hi Sox - The functions of the cooler are as follows: • Snowflake = Cooling, • Sunshine = Heating, • Water drops = Dehumidification mode If you require further assistance or advise on how to get the best performance from the unit, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care team by phone: 1300 566 816.
My drip tray fills up within minutes. I hsve water all over the place. Should i be closing it when on cooling mode
Leave the plug in. You use the tray to empty the collected water daily and pop the plug back in :)
As above Yes!
Hi Hannahk.. Happy New Year to you!! As our friends have advised already - it is VERY important that you keep the drain plug in place when using the unit on the cooling function. This ensures that a) water does not leak all over your room and b) assists with the best operation of the appliance as the water collected is recycled internally to ensure that continued operation of the compressor and condenser. If you have any further queries or concerns, of even if you just need a copy of the Owner's Manual for this model, please give us our Customer Care team a call on 1300 556 816. We are back on board and ready to take your call.
Talk to you again soon.. Danielle on behalf of all the team at Dimplex
Hi. I have a big Dimplex portable air-con I think it's the 4.4 seems about right. I was just wondering what the flashing red icon is, looks like water droplets going into a container. I don't have a manual and I discovered the hard way just how much water out produces.
I'd the flashing red icon a problem.
Thanks
Hi there.. the flashing red icon indicates that the water reservoir needs emptying. This can happen if the room/ weather is especially humid and the unit is removing more water from the air than it can reuse/ recycle during the cooling process. You will need to place a small container underneath the unit and remove the drain plug to allow the excess water to run off. The amount of run off can be quite a lot - please ensure that you are able to cap off the drain again quickly once your container is filled.
If you can supply the correct model number from the rear data plate we can arrange to have a manual emailed to you or alternatively, if the unit is one of our current range you can download a manual from our website: external link .
Should you have any further queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care team by phone: 1300 556 816 during standard business hours.
Hi there, Sounds like you need to remove the drain plug and empty the water from the bottom of the unit. Make sure you put the drain plug back in afterwards so water doesn't keep pouring out while the unit is running.
You may need to drain your unit more often than usual depending on how often you use it and your climate.
Overall draining the unit should most likely solve your problem.
If the light continues to flash there may be a fault with the unit that needs to be identified by a Dimplex Service Centre.
Hope that helps.
what is the triangle for...on the control panel?..like a pyramid that lights up green when choosing fan speed...nothing in book.
Hi Wazza Thanks for your query. The triangle that lights up on the display indicates when AUTO fan mode has been selected. In this mode the fan will operate at maximum speed while the room is more than 2 degrees Celsius from the selected temperature. When the room temperature is within 2 degrees Celsius of the temperature selected, the fan speed will drop to medium. Once the set temperature is reached, the fan will drop to low to efficiently maintain the desired temperature.
Hope this helps - and if you have any other queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care team by phone: 1300 566 816.
Hey I have transported my dcdimplex portable AC horizontally by mistake and now the hose is not blowing off hot air. The temp also seems to remain the same although I tried decreasing it several times. Any suggestions please?
Hi Tsering, thank you for reaching out to Dimplex, our suggestion would be to leave upright for 2 – 3 days ( switched off ) by transporting horizontally – oil may have entered the capillary tube. If leaving it “upright and off” as above doesn’t sort it, you will need to take it to be repaired.
We have a lot of water in the tray we put under the pipe outlet at the bottom.is this normal?we have the 4.4 kw model.
Hi there, This is completely normal. The drip tray is there to collect the moisture produced by the compressor and should be drained periodically. I just emptied mine a week ago hence if you haven't done this for a while it may overflow.
It would be best to remove the drain plug (near the rear left castor wheel) and let it drain outside or in a suitable wet area.
Once you have done that all should be right for normal usage. Hope this helps.
