A small fan that doesn't deserve any fans – Brought from Big W. $79.00 A small 40cm pedestal fan. Attractive design as it is all chrome. Small and compact which is great for small spaces. Easy to understand instructions to put together. A rather unusual design that attempts to reduce material use when attaching the base to the stand. Instead of a locking system with a ring to screw down to the base as is the case for most fans. This unit has a metal pin that is located underneath the stand. Due to this pin the fan when operating wobbles as it does not have the stability that most ring locked fans have. Even on a low speed this fan tends to vibrate on the floor due to the continuous wobbling of the fan head. Due to this design I think this fan would fall over if knocked accidentally. The control knob of the fan is simple and to be honest is rather disappointing when in the Number 1 position. The force of the fan is minimal and requires the fan to be set to a minimum of Number 2 on the controls to attain a reasonable air flow. Thought the fan is attractive it is built of a poor quality. The internal fan blades are weak and rather thin which explains the very poor airflow that it produces. The base is also of a chrome appearance which is nice but not practical as dust and smudges need to be taken care of continually. Over all a poor fan for a somewhat high price. Not suitable for everyday use particularly in Sub tropical or tropical environments.
