Don’t waste your time – Just spent good money replacing the fascia and hinges when a couple of weeks later the machine almost caught on fire, black smoke pouring out of the front. Lucky I was there when it happened otherwise it could have been worse. Basically don’t waste your money on this machine or even investing in repairs. Like others have said I don’t believe that… Read more

this machine has not been recalled with so many reports of this issue. If I had read the reviews on this page sooner I would have thrown it out, it’s a ticking time bomb..

I thoight I was the only one! – The handle broke just after 12 months, cracked right along the facia. Could not find receipt, and when did find it out of warranty. SO, we just taped a sign over the handle stating "Do NOT USE!", and open by holding both sides of the door. The botton tray warps if more than 6 plates are in, so cannot glide in and out....and in Eco mode, nothing gets cleaned. Have to use Fairy on hottest setting to get anything clean. Show details

Handle broke and had to replace whole control board, now that has burnt out – The handle broke early in it's life as described in other reviews. Last night I woke at 4am to a strong burning electrical smell throughout the house, traced it to the dishwasher. The control board had completely burnt out, lucky it didn't start a house fire. Show details

Caught fire, almost burned down the house! – This is the perfect product for you, if you want to die in a fire... Same issue as everyone else, after a years of use, one random day it decided to catch fire inside the control panel. Luckily on this particular day I decided to turn the dishwasher on in the afternoon, instead of just before bed like I would normally do. If I had not been aware… Read more

of the smoke pouring out of the machine to switch it off quickly, the fire would have likely spread and burnt our house, with us in it, down! After it had cooled down and the toxic smoke cleared, I opened up the control panel to find it coated in black soot and a melted mess of electronics. With the amount of similar experiences on here, its criminal that this product hasn't been recalled and a wonder this piece of junk hasn't caused fatalities. I won't be purchasing from Electrolux every again, its not worth risking my family's lives over.

Oh and one last thing, just like lots of others, the handle on this unit also snapped off years ago, which I had to replace. Why am I not surprised...

think this product should have been recalled – Product ok. Except for drawers that are difficult. Handle broke a couple of years ago. However just lucky as the door just exploded in burning smoke(10 minutes ago) Lucky I was a few metres away. The safety switch did not trigger. Kitchen full of smoke(alarm triggered) Then when I read about the model it is a common fault. Surely there should have… Read more

Burning smell, Stopped working – Last night we were in bed and could smell something burning, there was smoke coming out of the dishwasher and a burning plastic smell coming from the dishwasher door behind the display panel. Surely after all of these complaints the dishwasher should have been recalled for safety reasons. Scary to think of what could have happened if we weren’t home. Handle broke after roughly 3 months also.  Show details

Fire Hazard – This is the second dishwasher that has caught fire. After they replaced the first one with the exact same mobile, much to my disgust and my insistence that I didn't want that model again. Again luckily we were home to turn it off before it burnt anything else in the kitchen, again also having to deal with the disgusting burnt plastic smell that… Read more

Burning plastic issue – Same story than for previous posts.. This dishwasher worked well since last night... The kitchen was filled with a burnt rubber smell. We had to leave the house and switch off the main electrical board. Again based on other reviews I can’t believe there hasn’t been a recall by Electrolux.  Show details

Fire hazard – We recently moved and this was the previous owners dishwasher. Last night our house was filled with a burnt rubber smell. Lucky our fuse tripped. Reading other reviews here I can’t believe there hasn’t been a recall. Electrolux - what if my fuse box didn’t work and our house burnt down? What if someone died? Anyway, dishwasher is dead. Btw, the handle had broken off.  Show details

Handle broke off and now bottom wash arm wont spin = – This machine is a joke. Handle broke off last year but we just put up with it and open the machine from the side. Did work well until it broke – It was an ok dishwasher until it stopped working on Xmas day. All the lights started flashing and nothing would work. Update: Brilliant service from electrulux

I had a problem with my dishwasher, I put a review on here that was read by electrulux, who contacted me by email. To cut a long story short, they came and fixed it at no cost to me. I really thought I would have to buy a new one. YAY! to electrulux. Job well done.

Handle broke and now doesn't heat and the wheels all fall off the rack! Help! – Dishwasher Dishlex DX301..what a disaster! Only 3 years old. Handle snapped off requiring a whole new control board which would need an electrician to install it $$$. Now the wheels keep falling off the bottom rack every time we pull it forward. The dishes come out filthy and wet and I don't think it heats the water or produces steam...I hate this thing!!! Top rack terrible to load glasses and mugs in too.  Show details

Don't Buy Dishlex! – Door handle has broken twice and now it's not washing or drying the dishes. However the attitude of 'too bad' from Dishlex is the most disappointing part of all this - they just don't care once they have your money! Looking at other reviews now and this seems to be a common occurrence from Dishlex. Dishlex do not produce a high quality or durable product.  Show details

On/off button broken because of bad design – Power button pushed completely into front panel after only a few years of light use. Problem caused by inadequately thin plastic lugs and the use of screws rather than an appropriate bolt and nut. No smoking or other issues so far. After reading this forum I would never leave the machine operating unattended.  Show details

Disappointed! – We were gifted a brand new in the box so we set it up and gave it a try and found it does not wash nor dry the dishers. In my opinion there is no hot water being created at all! Also it is much smaller than our previous washer and most of our plates don't fit in without stopping the spinners.  Show details

Do not buy any Dishlex product – We bought this product new and have used it regularly, but not heavily in a household that has varied from two to four persons. We have now broken our fourth handle! also had to buy another set of plastic wheels at $60 a set, because the first set failed. This is a terrible piece of industrial design and I have no faith that any other Dishlex product would be any better. Look elsewhere!

Just out of hospital - could have died in a house fire! – Was happy with my Dx 301. Only used a few times a week with 2 house members. Regularly cleaned & maintained. & very weak - I almost didn't make it to the power fuse box outside to cut the power. I'm alone in the middle of nowhere - may not have been a good outcome....

I hope that electrolux replaces this dud unit with a reliable replacement.

Broken door handle - flimsy design? – I have a Dishlex DX301WK about 3 years old (can;t find the receipt yet). The door hadle, which seem to be integrated into the top panel, has completely broken off leaving tiny corner pieces to pull on. For the only part that really obviously needs to be strong (to open the dishwasher each day) it's sort of unbelievable it would be so weak.

How do I fix this? Do I still have it warrantied? Has anyone approached the Ombusman(s) / Consumer affairs about this being not fit for the application?

Broken Handle – Our handle has also broken after only 3 years and Electrolux told me it is just wear and tear- I use it every day- doesn't everyone use a dishwasher every day? The whole panel needs to be replaced and their recommended service person quoted $ 245. I didn't even have to tell him the model- he guessed it and said it is a fault with this model.

Handle has broken again – The plastic handle broke (under extended warranty) two years ago, and was replaced. It has now broken again (3 weeks out of warranty). I was told, $145 technician call out fee, plus $80 for the part - $225 for a cheaply-made plastic handle! Appalling rip-off for a machine that cost $699.

Very disappointed – About to replace the top door panel with the handle built into it for the third time......I have never seen such a weak door pull on any other dishwasher......used to sell them in previous job...glad I am not now.Would have to be the weakest part of the dishwasher...but it does wash good.....just very expensive to keep replacing the door pull.

Another suspected burnt out motor – We also bought our Dishlex dishwasher (second one we have owned) about 4 years ago and after the handle broke off a few months ago, today I suspect the motor has burnt out. Panel above handle cracked after 3 years - appalling – There is a crack above the handle on the panel, purchased 9 June 2011. Obviously a design fault as others mention same problem. Faulty Wiring - Fire Hazard – Cought fire this afternoon during cycle. Luckily I was home and my son came running in to advise of fire in dishwasher. Looking at this forum it appears that this is a common fault. Electrolux should issue a product recall before someone is killed - total negligence in my opinion.
