Follow-up · Dometic is a disgrace of a company. RV manufacturers should stop installing Dometic in their vehicles because every Dometic product is a liability and severely reduces the reliability of the RV and the quality of their brand. DO NOT INSTALL DOMETIC PRODUCTS IN NEW VEHICLES.
Not happy with our new awning, it is only single layer now where the old one was 2 or 3 layers thick... no sewn edges, very thin, so much so our aussie traveller anti flaps do not grip the edge at all because of how thin it is & no sewn edges...yet it still costs as much if not more... very unhappy Show details

Absolutely shocking customer support, I have a Dometic RV cooker which requires a New Trivet, It is impossible to call the company, you spend forever on hold listening to the recording saying how good they are and how they are on the Swiss Stock market, You are on hold so long that the call eventually just hangs up on you, If you press the option… Read more
to get a call back, They never call you back, you use the email page and they never respond. I will NEVER buy or recommend any Dometic products if this is how they run business. I bet if i were calling to buy a $1500 Stove, They would answer. On Dometic RV cookers with the 3+ burners and Oven / Grille, A replacement glass lid alone is $800 if you break it.
We have a Dometic three way fridge in our caravan. It is just over three years old and has continually broken down regularly. Dometic have refused to help us out. Now it is just out of warranty and has broken down again. This fridge is no good and has never worked correctly. What a rip off.
I bought a Fantastic Fan Vent manufactured by Dometic from Caravans Plus and it arrived faulty. A loose screw was rattling inside, and after installation we discovered the lid and lift mechanism were broken—issues that weren’t visible beforehand. to replace the fan and cover re-installation costs, but never followed through and have now backed out of their own promise. Extremely disappointing service and a huge waste of time. Would not recommend.
Purchased this new for our caravan 4 years ago. The has never worked well at all. 2 years later put it in the get checked. They replaced a part under warranty STILL didn’t work well. Dometic won’t cover this inspection/ repair as out of warranty. Dometic won’t not buy a Dometic for your caravan.

for the “big brand” name and that it had bluetooth that I really needed. The Bluetooth never worked right out of the box so I contacted Dometic for advice. It became a 8 week nightmare dealing with their customer service who did respond quite quickly but it seems they didn’t really listen asking questions after questions over that 8 week period instead of taking all the information I had already provided or asking the questions in one or 2 go’s. The excuses given were pathetic like the app was due for upgrade which turned out not true, the fact that I told them I had an updated Apple IPhone they kept trying to give me Android fixes. Their advice to contact Dometic Service Centres in Mackay resulted in not one of them were interested as it always has been a major issue and was not worth their time but eventually I was told the circuit board would have to be replaced at a cost of approx $180 plus approx $150 to fit. The main issue from Dometic was although my parents did get a receipt my mum is in final stages of cancer so for her to find the receipt is almost impossible and the camping store it was purchased from has shut down. Dometic in their last communication with me finally informed me that the fridge was manufactured in 2019 so it seems we were “dudded” by the camping store. Since then Dometic have ghosted me and stopped all communication. For such a large company like Dometic who state they pride themselves in their product mabey I had hoped they would offer some sort of goodwill in either offering the part or labour (as I was not asking for a “freebie”) and they might have offered some sort of help…. But no nothing but a horrid customer service experience
Follow-up · I still believe in brand named products but I have stopped believing in their customer services especially when they advertise how “brilliant” they and their products are. CFX 5 55, Purchase a month ago, sent for repair 2 weeks later, a month later still waiting for a replacement or refund.
Poor return policy for spare parts – I ordered a spare part from Dometic after a phone conversation with one of the employees and a review of the return policy on their website. When the spare part did not fix the issue, I tried to return it in original condition and within the 30 day requirement. fitted as per note on invoice. Unfortunately this note which was provided after purchase has now cost me $453. Nothing wrong with part or original packaging. I recommend purchasing from another company that treats the customers fairly

with. Now as the former owner of a Financial Planning Company, a Justice of the Peace Qld. and former member of Queensland State Parliament I have seen it all, believe me. That said, I have not hesitation in recommending Dometic products and service.
Poor customer service, no warranty on new products – Mobicool windows were sold new with dangerous faults yet they refuse to replace these under warranty. At a cost of $1600 you would expect descent quality and service, not so, they are telling me to fix it at my own time, cost and effort.
Dometic rubbish – Every dometic product we have has had problems! And even the new ones!

Dometic site shows entire unit, but only selling the roll component with vinyl – I ordered from Dometic as I wanted to replace my entire awning and they had a great pre Christmas special. Unfortunately they only sent the sprung barrel with vinyl attached, not what they show on their site which is the whole unit with all fittings. they are not connected to online sales. I am then transferred to an answering service where I leave yet another message to a woman who never rings back. I have bought a lot of Dometic products over the last 15 years, but this is my first issue. They will never have my business again thanks to their disgraceful customer service.
Their customer service is NON existant – Trying to get customer service for Dometic appliances is impossible. They are rude, arrogant and unhelpful. You cannot buy products from them you must go through a dealer. Delivery times are 4-8 weeks to get a product from the Gold Coast to Sunshine Coast.
