Look elsewhere for a great quality finish – Having built with a larger builder in the past this time we thought we would try a smaller one in the hopes of getting a better quality home. Unfortunately that was not the case as it appeared some contractors were less concerned about their reputation with smaller builders and didn't seem to put in as much effort. After 15 months of trying to get things fixed we eventually gave up, even things that were fixed eventually broke again.

A good example was a sliding door that was rubbing against in the wall. Instead of fixing it completely they merely adjusted the guides so that the door was at an angle, this stopped the rubbing for a few months but over time this has caused the door to bow until it barely moves at all because it's now rubbing against the entire frame. Areas around the door were also damaged at the time of the repairs such as the frame and tiling but they denied this and refused to fix it even though it's fairly clear it was caused by the repairs. They also refused to fix the door now so repairs will come out of our pockets although at this stage this seems like the better option anyway if we want a decent job done. This is just an example of one of the things we had to constantly chase for months and months just for them to be fixed improperly or not at all.

Other problems we had such as the floor upstairs making cracking, creaking sounds (loud enough to wake up a sleeping child) were barely even looked at even though we mentioned it in nearly ever communication with them over that period. Cracks in the gyprock that had been there since the first few months we moved in were never fixed and some areas that were fixed went unpainted for months. Not a great look when you have visitors over for the holidays.

Overall I give them two star for the fairly smooth build process but if you are looking for great quality from the finished product, and lets face it that's the thing you have to live with for years to come, you will may find better elsewhere especially for the price. While I wouldn't expect any house to be perfect I would expect better support and service for the immense amount of money it takes to build a house nowadays.

7 years on and our house is falling down around us. The builder refused to do anything for us while within warranty and after the so called "repair period" ran out we took them to the tribunal who were absolutely useless and said it's too late even though we reported all issues with the correct period.

We have had water pouring out of our light sockets from the air con pan overflowing because it was installed wrong and don't get me started on all the other issues we had with that air con, and we can't do anything about it because the company went bust. Well no surprises there, that's just an example of the terrible contractors this company uses. When I was up in the ceiling looking for where the water was coming from there was electrical boxes for the air con and other equipment just sitting on the gyprock, had the light socket been elsewhere this equipment would have all been ruined.

We have so many cracks in our ceiling at a point I can't reach it looks like the air con vent could fall out at any day (uploaded to original review as they said this was only cosmetic so not their problem) not to mention the 100 other cracks I have repaired myself. Every time I have an electrician round he comments on how badly the writing was done, we found one part where the wiring was fed past this razor sharp pieces of metal sticking out where something was cut, this was electrical and data wiring which would have shredded if we didn't discover it before we pulled it up to install our new sound system. When installing that we found they had only used 1 layer of sound proof gyprock on the ceiling when it was supposed to be a double layer all around to block sound so just outright ripped off there.

Our pool looks like it's going to fall away from our hour any day now. Either the pool or the house have shifted over 3cm which is just scary. If it keeps up we will lose water out of it after another 10 years. Not that I think this house will be standing in 10 years time the way it's going.

We have had water leaking out of the cracks in the ceiling during heavy rain and we just had a guy go up today who was looking for leaks that may cause the air con problem and he found big gaps between the roofing which likely not only caused the leaks but the cracking too.

Honestly I could sit here all day and complain about this house but the time is better spent fixing it which has become a full time hobby for me now. Fixing a 7 year old house that cost us a fortune.

DTL, hope you went out of business you crooks.
