TAKE YOUR TIME – First time I’ve used this product. I’ve been doing home renovations for 30+ years and have lots of experience painting. The expensive roller sold with this product, useless. Don’t waste your money. A roller with a nap of 15 works better. Definitely need to use a large sponge after rolling it on to spread the mix. After 2 coats it looks good. Use the product in the morning when it’s cooler. Show details
Looks good but terrible value and hard to apply – I painted a besser block wall. Looks good but used way more paint than specified so cost a fortune. The roller was impossible to use and I ended up just using the troul and a paint brush. If I knew how much work would be involved and how much it would cost I would not have used this product. My painter is professional yet this product has made our front wall look prehistoric – Our qualified painter painted our front wall last November 2020 by December 2020 it was showing bubbles and looking terrible. Now we are at October 2021 and it looks disgusting. We don’t have any issues with moisture as 6 years ago we used the same paint and were very happy with the result and only had our painter prep and repaint in November 2020… Read more
to change the colour and give the house a nice freshen up.
I have included photos when wall was painted, time line photos and photos as at today’s date.

Dulux texture paint - terrible product – This product is not suitable for brick surfaces. The render is so difficult to spread even with the $27 textured roller that you MUST buy. You need so much more product than is specified. Cost a small fortune for a very cheap and tacky result. Contacted dulux and they couldn’t have cared less. Cannot recommend this product

Great Result but VERY hard work – The $27 roller is useless & I found the best application was with a scraper or float then float to a render finish. VERY hard work. Result is great though. Built a feature wall & used this product to provide a rendered finish, dries very quickly even in mild 25 Deg C temp so don’t get too far ahead of yourself. Coverage was less than specified & required 2 coats to avoid patchy finish. Show details

Full Texture Over Rough Brickwork Great Product – I used 1930s heavy large 2nd hand bricks for the build. Sealed with Zinsser Wall Primer, fluffy sheepskin roller application of Sea Elephant full texture. 2nd coat was rolled on then a wide stucco brush to achieve finish. 2 weeks to cure then painted in Dulux Meekat Matt Weathershield. Every house is grey and white in my street. Meerkat looks fantastic. This application is not for the novice painter. Show details · 1
Great - Just Needs a Bit of Patience and Practice – I've had a fair bit of experience painting cinder blocks and painted masonry (brick) walls at my house in the last few years. You need patience. I tried the roller and like many have suggested, it was very tough, so I abandoned that. I use a 50mm Monarch Synthetic Brush and it's brilliant. This will take longer, but the finish is excellent and… Read more · 1
looks brilliant every time. I recommend it, just be prepared for the time investment. It's worth it though.
Achieved a great look for an old fibro cottage with medium texture cover – I found the medium texture cover really easy to apply with a lambswool mitt and achieved lovely even coverage. I removed all the old fibro joiners first and filled with a jointing compound before painting. They are now invisible. Allow more product than the coverage stated though, as I found that I needed two thick coats to acquire the look I was… Read more
after. Great that it can be pre-tinted so no need for painting afterwards. Would definitely buy it again. Just beware of sores if the product gets under the wristband of the mitt. I do have delicate female skin, but it left me with a bit of a sore, presumably from the lime as found in similar cement render products.
Roller waste of effort – I purchased the full cover finish. The expensive roller i saw in the video and purchased from Bunnings was not suitable nor did it work like shown in the video. The reason for that is that the small balls in the texture coat fill the roller and do not come out when rolling. After a short use the roller is packed tight with the balls and does not… Read more
paint. The video makes the product almost look like smoothing out crram on the walls. In real life it is nothing like it. I read the post below and will give the sponge a try...certainly a roller does not work.
This stuff is great! – I have a brick letterbox cap that I wanted to render to match some render on the house. This product was able to be coloured to match the colour of the render on the house perfectly. Application was very straight forward - following the online instructional video - and the coverage is great. The product fills mortar joints and rough bricks really… Read more
well with two coats - although I believe it will need one more coat for the kind of finish a renderer would get. That said, it looks great after two coats and I might never get around to a third coat.
Have used this on 5 buildings now without a problem – Don't need to paint the wall after applying as the colour is in the product. Have used it over Blueboard each time. First building done with it is now 8 years old with no problems. Has handled high pressure cleaning well (live in the tropics so occasionally needs doing to some walls, roof etc.). For me the easiest way of applying is with a large… Read more
sponge and "smearing"it onto the wall. Two coats does the trick. Doesn't crack like hard rendering does sometimes over the years. About to do the 6th building with it in a few weeks time
Terrible coverage – Applied to outdoor ceiling. Applied 2 coats of the recommended Dulux under coat and 2 coats of fine texture paint. Used a 12 nap roller as instructed. Does not cover evenly. Terrible finish, even after applying 2 coats of weather shield. The video is misleading. Now contemplating replace the ceiling. Show details
Terrible Product – Used Dulux Texture Medium Cover on brick rendered wall over Dulux Texture Primer. Product failed during rain shower 8 hours after it presented as touch dry. Dulux only comment was that it will not dry in 24 hours in temperatures over 25 degrees & humidity greater than 50%, which means if you live in Sydney- Do not use!
full cover texture paint – DO NOT use this paint, the instructions and I structional video is very misleading. I followed the instruction to the letter and you cannot propoerly get the renderto apply to the surface. I used approx 4 litres on a 4sqm villaboard panel, sealed with dulux prep. Buy powder render and trowel it on for a cheaper option and better finish. nothing impossible to use.
