Dulux White Ceiling +PLUS Kitchen and Bathroom Paint

Patchy finish, poor coverage, expensive, strong smell – Another patchy result after 2 coats over a clean white ceiling in kitchen/diner, unfortunately I didn't consider looking up paint reviews before buying due to Dulux's usually quality product. I live in Darwin so I upped the spend for the mould protection ($99/4l). A/C on before, during and after painting, ceiling prepped accordingly. Bought 4l… Read more
thinking that would be enough but had to get another as it is quite thick and doesn't go very far. Thought that due to this at least I'd get great coverage but the finish has visible yellowish patches. I now either need more to cover the patches, or do the whole job again with a different paint. After seeing another review reporting patchiness appearing months after application, I'll likely choose another paint so I don't have to do it a third time in a few months. It also smells quite strong after application and gave my wife and I headaches. This is my first review, motivated to share my experience with others to consider when deciding what paint to choose. Obviously it's not just the cost of the paint that I have lost, a lot of time and gear also goes into it. Very disappointed, especially considering the high price point.
Patchy, finish to brand new bathroom ceiling – I purchased this paint as it was recommended by a Bunnings sales person in the paint section. I should have listened to my builder, who after I purchased it said to take it back as they could suggest better quality paint. I really couldn't be bothered driving all the way back to Alexandria to do that. Which I regret now, as I am so disappointed… Read more
with the finish. We'd completely renovated both our bathrooms, and painted over the brand new re-plastered undercoated ceilings with this paint. Within a few months both ceilings went patchy (see photos). Both bathrooms are very well ventilated, we were careful, we waited a full 72 hours before using the shower after they were painted. I would never use this paint again - so disappointed! Looking at alternative paint options atm as its summer now and a good time to repaint. I took the time to do this review, to ensure others don't get caught out like we were. Again, I should have listened to my builder!!

VERY VERY PATCHY!! – After two coats the ceiling was still looking very patchy. Probably the most unforgiving paint I have ever used. massively overpriced for the finish it delivers. I wish I had read the reviews prior to opting for this paint. Show details

ceiling white and looks terrible. I have done the other Rooms in a Different company i do like the wash and wear for walls though .should have come to this site first to check reviews back to Bunnings i go All this was with Dulux Ceiling White plus kitchen and bathroom
Great results – Not sure why others have said it was patchy and poor results because I found it covers, hides imperfections and looks really good. After watching hours of Utube videos i started with dulux 3in1 prep then kitchen and bathroom with 24 hours drying between coats. Product is very expensive and a little thick but I suggest a 12 nap roller as this worked best for me Show details · 1
Good results – I’ve always sprayed this on and back-rolled with good results. Need to go over it with a decent roller and wet edge to ensure no roller lines. Will be doing a massive ceiling with it tomorrow. It’s expensive compared to other brands, however not sure if it’s justifiable Show details
Poor quality product that leaves average results – Bought Dulux paint as we perceived it as a premium brand to paint our new house. What a mistake that was. All products we used had very poor coverage and required multiple applications to achieve average results. Switched to another brand and got the rest of the job done in a fraction of the time that it took to paint with Dulux. Other product was also significantly cheaper. Show details
My ceiling looks really bad – I bought this paint for my ceilings as I've expected premium product. On tin it looks and reads perfectly. Great hiding power and no mould. I never mould, but given that I live in Brisbane, where humidity is very high, I thought why not. Anyways, three layers later, my ceiling was all patchy and conice had some weird shades. Not to mention that… Read more
the colour wasnt really white. To me it looks like it is lacking pigment. I am not professional painter, and have questioned my skills many times during this process. I bought all good tools, and the most expensive paint. What could be wrong. Long story short I went to one other paint shop and purchased their premium ceiling paint. It took me some effort to repaint almost all ceilings, but it was well worth it. The new paint is all I could wish for. White, good hiding, flat.. I do hope that I got some bad batch of Dulux paint. However it took me quite some nervs, time and money to fix the mess made by it. Do not buy would be my advice.
