Set Up instructions – Tent has lasted well with no issues. setting up in windy conditions is difficult. Please see attached photos if they require set-up instructions. Show details
We love your camp chairs, why don't you make one with the table on the left – Your camp chairs comfortable & easy to assemble also easy to fold away
Reliable, sturdy and long lasting! – Family of 6 - We have enjoyed many trips away, in all kinds of weather, and have had no issues with this tent. Great value, lots of room, my 6’2 husband can stand comfortably inside! Show details
Adelaide – Dune 4WD manufactory the most backward ever. No website, no instruction on YouTube. nothing. You go to reviews website, you get directed to website t that can download instruction. website required you to provide CC card details, entered 4x different CC Cards multiple times and each one of them bounced back (wrong details multiple times). It'll a lot easer to land on the moon than deal with Dune 4WD genie.
Second hand but still has lots of life left! – After long research and looking at various family tents on camping shows we ended up buying this tent second hand for $50, we can’t believe it! Although it has 2 small holes on the netting and also along the front entrance bottom zip. This does not bother us as much as the outer cover is still intact, will keep us dry early morning and on a wet… Read more
day. Patched up all holes with waterproof tape back to back ($13 from bunny’s) and zwala good as new! Plus points: it’s huge, walk in height. The 3 of us did not feel cramped at all. One room is where we slept (fits 3 stretcher with leg room), the other we put all our belongings, and outside under the canopies we laid fake turf and set up our outdoor kitchen area. Other tent we looked at like the Coleman 8 or 10pp are narrower and can only fit 2 stretchers each room or 3 w/o leg space. I love the fact that the sleeping quarter has no outside doors as I’m paranoid someone will come in or that my kid goes out when we’re asleep. The windows and opening provides very decent airflow better than half the tent we’ve seen so far. Super easy to set up (we had no instructions so just common sense is all). It came supplied w new packet of pegs. And although I agree the zips needs lubing, overall it’s a great family weekender tent (even for the rrp $500). We are yet to experience ugly weather in this tent but if I intended to tour then I’d prolly opt for a canvas tent. Even so I think the stability of the tent highly depends on it’s installation. I’d buy this tent brand new if need be.
Decent but not great – Had this tent a few years now and it’s always been a great tent. However had some high winds this trip and one of the small poles snapped and it lost all its structural integrity... Gone! other than that not bad Show details
Excellent camping tent – This tent deserve a 5 star rating. We've used it in good and bad weather and was always a pleasure spending time in it. It holds heavy rain perfectly, inside was always dry and we had no problems in windy days. Strong structure and reliable materials. The problem is people don't even read the instructions how to set the tent up. Therefore you hear… Read more
of snapped zippers, broken polls and many other bad comments. You can literally live in this tent easily. Big, high, spacious and has lots of small windows for air flow. Great and great again. Would buy the exact same one if needed.
The tent that keeps on giving – I'm reading some of the reviews below and I am actually laughing out loud. Most of the failures people mention sound like dumb mistakes by them, not the tent! Anyway, having had this tent for almost 5 years it is starting to show some wear and tear, which is totally fine, if I was after something to last longer I'd buy canvas but as it was just… Read more
me and the mrs this a great tent to start with.
We camp a few times over summer and I take it to Bathurst every year for the Supercars.
It has had 2 of us in it. It has also had 8 blokes sleep in it.
It has had a couple of zip and panel repairs on the inside door. No problems with any of the zips ever corroding. We camp at Lorne quite a bit and have never seen this issue. I do hose down and hang the tent up after every trip though, a little bit of maintenance will make a tent last as long as you want it to.
Having awnings on all sides is fantastic. Plenty of shade to sit under and the guy ropes and pegs are ok. I do have bigger ropes and pegs for when it requires it.
Yes it's probably not your all weather, heavy duty, storm riding, sun reflecting super tent.
But hey, it does it's job.
If your entering the tent market i would recommend this to you.
If you're upgrading I would recommend this to you.
If you're one who is going to complain about pegs, ropes and poles. Do your homework first and maybe look at something dearer?
This tent is worth it!
Very please with this tent: exceeded expectations – We initially bought this tent 18 months ago for a 5 week camping holiday. In short, it was a pleasure to use. It's not easy setting it up on your own but two people can easily put it up in 20-30mins. Our most recent camping trip (2weeks) tested the tent by exposing it to strong stormy wind and heavy rain and while tents around us were collapsing… Read more
and blowing away we stayed dry and secure. I would recommend this tent any day of the week to any couple or small family looking for a comfortable tent to use. Double thumbs up! If I were to dig deep for a criticism it would be that we had to buy a few extra metal pegs. Aside from that, I give it 10/10
Death trap – Dune fraser collapsed on us when we were in bed. The poles snapped because of the heavy rain. So yes, easy to set up & very easy coming down, especially in a storm. Zips in wrong place. Hard to enter & leave tent. It can't withstand constant rain. Leave the tent in the shop.
Very disappointing – We have the dune XL, love the ease of putting it up and the space inside but what's the use of that when it doesn't even stay up! The front zips have corroded and most of the fibreglass poles have broken. Completely ruined our trip last weekend and after only 4 uses it's gone in the bin!
Low quality - hate it – Hate this tent... Very low quality, a year on ready to go into bin. Blows over easy and painful to put up. Bought on sale at anaconda - never again.
Expensive rubbish – Bought this tent as it was marketed as a fraser 4wd camping tent. I used the tent once at fraser and it held up reasonably well evengance though the supplied pegs are useless on fraser seeing as its a sand island, sand pegs would have been the go. So 9 months later go to use it again and all the zips are so corroded from the sea air they're… Read more
green and white powder and fall apart when I tried to unzip the doors.
Why use chappy zips and not stainless if it's supposed to be marketed as a fraser island tent, maybe the instructions should state to lanolin the zips before and after each use.
Will never buy this brand again.

So many good points but lacks in quality – Used the tent twice, first time to test it out camping in my mums yard over xmas. The night ended up being very windy approx. 50km/hr wind and rain and the tent held up perfectly. Only downfall we found frustrating was the openings and lack of opening at the rear of the tent plus where the front panel 3 zips meet, weren't lining up. Used for the… Read more
second time just last weekend, once again with not being able to get the 3 front panel zips to meet and not let creepy crawlies in was frustrating so we just blocked the gap with a bag, we ensured we had it all pegged out correctly etc. Unfortunately we noticed a rip from where the mesh had come away from the seam near the side entrance which by the time the camping trip was over was quite large, the stitching was very flimsy and poor quality, also noticed a rip in the floor and we aren't rough campers nor was the site at all. Its unfortunate the quality just isn't great because other than that its spacious, great head height, excellent in rough weather and easy to erect and take down. Its been returned to Anaconda for a refund. Can also see that as others have mentioned the centre connection along roof line could easily break, ours already had a permanent bend and slight crack.
Could happily live in this Tent!! – 1 of my favourite purchases! Purchased over 2 years ago still going strong! Perfect Height! You can stand up and walk through the whole tent without bending over! Which I find amazing! Colour coded poles, for quick and easy assembling! Have set it up over 20 times now and its just so easy! It is also very sturdy! had gale force winds at Inskip… Read more
point and Fraser Island and the tent held up so good! I was shocked as all the camper trailers around us collapsed and the Dune Fraser held up!! We have 1 section the bedroom and the other we have our food, table n chairs and its a great size for a couple to be set up inside out of the rain/wind! Highly recommend this to any couple to a family of 4 would fit perfect!
Snapped in half! – We loved our Dune Fraser until the large storm which blew through the Hunter Region last week. A freakish gust of wind hit the side of the tent and I watched from outside as the roof pole snapped in half and a number of the flexible poles sheared from the force! While this was extreme, I would certainly buy something with stronger poles and less height next time!
great tent. slight flaws – Currently laying in bed in our tent whilst on family holiday in Coffs Harbour. We have the Dune Fraser XL Tent (3 room tent). Most likely the way we have put it up but water is dripping in now that its been raining for most the day. Will look into purchasing a large tarp for next time to cover as the fly is just not cutting the rain issue. … Read more
Impressed with the ease of set up and also how well it has withstood wind gusts of up to 50km/hr over the last few days with just original pegs and guy ropes.
Easy To Erect The Tent However Fly Wire Tore At Zip On The First Night – Simple & quick to erect the tent. Water proof (it rained quite heavily on our first and only night camping in this tent). However we would not recommend this tent because the fly wire torn along the stitching on that some stage during the first night when my husband and I went to bed. We purchased the Dune Fraser tent as our 12-year-old tent is… Read more
too snug for our family. We have been using our trusty old tent year in & year out (with our children) without a rip, tear or broken zip, yet the Dune Fraser tent did not last one night!
Disappointed, will be taking it back to Anaconda and NOT asking for a replacement. We will stick to our snug, yet trusty, 12-year-old tent.
Stood up to a WA downpour – Brought the XL version and used it for the first time this weekend. Set it up before a major downpour which lasted most of the night. No water came in (except where we opened the doors), I have previously bought and returned a BOAB tent which was only $50 cheaper than this but had a major design flaw. The Fraser is a much better-constructed tent… Read more
and is very easy to erect. Plenty of pockets throughout. The bit we like is that there are front and rear awnings allowing for plenty of shade around the tent.
Update 5th Feb 2016 - The bag zip broke in January 16, however Anaconda replaced the bag within 4-5 weeks. No major issues. The tent is still holding up!
Final Conclusion TBA – Just set up the tent for the first time, intending to go to Fraser Island in Jan (10 days in 2015) bought it from Anaconda for just under $400 in the winter specials always a good time to buy gear. It's been a long time since I was last camping and my experience has been with only canvas tents, but this tent in the store looked good and well the… Read more
price was right. First thing, I noticed was an impression of flimsy in the daylight of outdoors (my back yard) somehow seemed stronger in the store, the instructions were about as clear as mud, but once i started to play it came together pretty quick however, simply not enough ropes or decent pegs so will have to replace all, adding another 40 pegs(sand) and at least 6 spring ropes two doubles 4 singles to pin it down. Zippers look under strength and will have to be treated with silicone spray to protect from corrosion as will the steel poles, not a big fan of the fibreglass poles as they become brittle over time and will probably have to be replaced but i imagine the tent will have run its life by then anyway. The biggest trick with setting up this tent is never force anything go slow and gentle not my strong suit; I am Male after all ;] which makes it a little annoying better the girls learn how to put it up anyway lol anyway this is not a negative review as it must be remembered it was only a third of the price of some of the canvas jobs so I recon it will hopefully do the job for at least two to three trips anyway. Will post how i went in jan
Found the two rooms very handy – My thoughts are the previous reviewers whom had problems did not follow the instructions. My husband surprisingly found it easy to follow the instructions. The fiberglass internal poles are colour coded and very easy to set up. The external skin is water proof and strong. It does however need sand pegs if you are up the beach and with the… Read more
proper guy ropes there will be no problems. We had strong winds and rain on one night at Teewah Beach, but there were no problems. Common sense will lead the way. We also purchased a Dune fold-up double bed which does not need inflation, but has pockets that fill with air as you unfold it. That was comfortable and quite for two. I would recommend this tent as it is compact and robust.
Clever, smart and sturdy tent – I shudder to think how some of the below 'gooses' must have set their tent up to achieve the failures they are talking about, this tent is fantastic value for money. Prooved to be fantastically waterproof and stood up to anything nature has thrown at it so far. I never write reviews but after being so happy with my purchase of this tent i needed to give DUNE4WD a nod.

So far so good – Seems like a good tent. easy to set up and pack away. it has lots of little things i liked, for example pockets on the inside wall and zip up spots for ropes etc. we set it up in the backyard on a nice sunny day then had a storm blow in for a couple of hours then back to nice weather, it held up fine. looking forward to going camping with it. so far so good
Did the job it was bought for – I found this tent to be an entirely adequate tent for the purpose I bought it for: a family car-camping tent. As another reviewer noted, yes, it could possibly do with a deeper floor tub, and yes, depending on what conditions you intend to use the tent in, you might need to buy appropriate accessories. But we took our Dune Fraser, stock, and… Read more
pitched it on an exposed area of Marion Bay in Tasmania, which even in Summer can be, and was, wet and blustery with Roaring 40 winds. And it coped just fine for several days, requiring very little ongoing adjustments.
And even for a first-time pitch, was light and easy to erect, and easily fit back into its travel case.
Tent materials poor – Put tent up correctly after purchasing 4 days ago. Middle roof flexible pole snapped overnight so will be asking for a refund! It was under no pressure from wind in the 12 hrs it was up. Very disappointed in this family tent!
Good value – Great tent for the value; however, please put it up correctly. I see and have heard so many people wine abouts tents and 9 times out of 10 it is the way they have put it up. Yes, you may need to buy some sand tent pegs and Yes, please make sure you use the Guy ropes and like most tents be gentle with the zips. It has a great internal height, 2… Read more
big rooms. It is shower proof but if you go away for a stretch put up a tarp like most good campers do.
The poles are just fine as long as you don't over tighted the fly and if you can add some springs to your guy ropes, also check your guy ropes everyday and adjust as required.
On tripadvisor i have some good pics of the tent in (real) use... Lots of room, easy to put up and not to expensive to buy. The bucket or floor could be deeper.
Tent materials not up to spec – Purchased a Dune Fraser tent from Anaconda about a year ago. Used it only twice and one of the poles split while the tent us set up. The frame construction in this tent is pretty flimsy and with only a moderate sea breeze it will blow down. We purchased it for family camping, but the only way to make sure it doesn't fall over in the slightest… Read more
wind is to buy more pegs and rope and tie the fly down using the hooks that are meant to be used to keep the windows rolled up.
Ruined our holiday as we had to come home early because the tent pole broke. Good ventilation. Pole materials were not good quality.
